In addition to fixtures, they also sell soaps and linens. If you have a fondness for the new rage in furniture - dilapidated old pieces made shiny and new with a thick coat of pastel paint - this is the place for you. They have regularly rotating stock of individual pieces. They're still pricier than if you went looking for a piece to paint yourself, but a lot cheaper than the shiny new pieces with uneven scufffs to add that aged look sold by the high street chains. People with a fetish for interiors - and anyone who enjoys a long soak in the tub - will love this place.

The pharmacist and staff are very friendly and they have a lot of stock in terms of medicines and toiletries. The entrance has changed which makes it much more accesible for the elderly, parents with buggies and disabled as its now got a ramp outside. It has everything you would expect from a local Boots branch and you can use your advantage card without having to go into town to get your toiletries. Overall a lovely practical, handy branch.

This was a general store that hardly anyone went to. There were plety of other places that you could go to in and around plaistow, that peoplewouldnt go here. It looks cheap and tatty, as do the products outside, that look like they have spend 10 years outside and not been cleaned. I think the only reason to go here, is to buy batteries or some hangers. And even those, you were lucky if they worked. I would never buy anything that i really needed form here, as you would most likely be disappointed, as i was when i bought an alarm clock that didnt make a sound, except at random times of the day or night. The bin (which is one of those silver, titanium looking ones that are all futuristic and cool) holds a large load and cost only £5, so the fact that my first item fell apart after less than one use doesn't bother me so much. It's a discount store. If you wash a towel you buy from here in super hot temperatures it is likely to disintegrate in the rinse cycle. It's OK though, because it was only 35 pence. It's hard times man, discount stores are great places to get basics.

It has been gone for a while now, so I'm relieved to find that this store contains much of the same household essentials at a similar price point but in a much cleaner layout. Sure you're not going to be able to buy timber from here but if you came out on a Saturday morning to go to the post office and you needed to buy some fuses then this place fits the bill just nicely. The store is laid out pretty logically, so I was able to find the fuses straight away, and the price was good (£1.50 for a pack of nine mixed fuses as I wasn't sure what size I needed). I quickly paid and then I was on my way. Of course I wish it had all turned out for the better - I thought I needed a new fuse for a plug but it turned out the lawnmower was just broken... so I had to head out again to get a new one from Argos, but that's another story. I would happily come back here for similar products as the store made it easy to find products and the person work was a helpful chap (he was helping someone else as I paid).

They have a high turn over of products so if you find something that you like its best that you buy it then and there as you won't find it again. However seeing that everything is 99p it is affordable and you don't mind picking up lots of stuff at that price. They sell everything from coffee to food stuff, to bath stuff to stickers. The staffs are friendly and are willing to help when ever possible.

The great thing was having this Homebase about a mile from home. Its a fairly big version and has plenty of parking. Inside there are all the relevant sections for us, paint, wood, tools, nails, etc. The garden section is also very extensive and we have spent some time there in the Spring picking out bits and pieces. My only criticism would be the check-out, it has to be the slowest around. I also had to wait ages for someone to help mix some paint even though there were only a handful of customers in the place. However it is convenient and the prices are good.
