Vacationing this summer I found the perfect coffee place despite the very long line. The staff worked very quickly to get out everyone's drinks not only did they do this but they also did it well maintaining kindness and amazing customer service. They even chatted through their busy day, making kind conversation with almost every customer that they came in contact with I love the drink menu items as they have some very cool flavor combinations I had a dirty chai and it was lovely. It was super smooth and the coffee flavor was very strong despite not using espresso. The inside is a very nice vibe. I liked the use of flags throughout the dining room. I also like that they had books and things that were not coffee. I liked everything about this place and would totally recommend. read more

Was excited abt going it seems so cute! In from out of town - took the baby with me & walked to this location it was super close to my rental home. Place seemed cool, hippie vibes, a couple was in front of me & quickly got their coffee. My turn was next walked up to the counter, no other customers in the place except the young couple that left. the baby & me were ignored by 3 staff members- I was smiling looking at them & one setting up, one checking out the tips/taking that cash out of the clear bucket, the other went to the back. Not even a glance at me as if I was invisible as I was looking right at them. They did not want me there. This must be the worst customer service ever or wonder if it was due to being a person of color?!?! Baby & me just walked out. Either way it was horrible do not recommend. Maybe these two women & one man -were having a bad day or maybe they need to train these 3 staff about basic customer service 101. read more

I ordered a kolache that was fine. Drink was okay, $4.50 for a 16oz iced berry tea that was like 80% ice by volume in the cup. The service was friendly. Was confused by the ambiance which was some Hippie Christian crossover vibe. There were multiple Jesus related signs but also edibles for sale, stoner merch, and also Tibetan prayer flags? Also, there wasn't much indoors seating, just one oddly placed sofa and a couple barstools but the worker/owner/whoever else was occupying the limited barstools. If you need a place to read/study/work, head to Coffee Waves instead. This place would be fine for a quick grab and go I guess. read more

This morning there was a mechanical issue that limited what could be served - no hot drinks. However, "The Brew Crew" (Kaitlin & Josh) quickly resolved this issue. During the time product choice was limited customers were treated respectfully and alternative products were suggested. Service is therefore rated 5 Stars. I ordered a coconut cold brew with coconut milk. It was super tasty and gave me a great energy boost. It was a little on the pricey side coming in at about $9 for the drink before tipping. I ordered a cold brew and a cold brew latte... Yea. Both of them for me!! Can't blame me as it was hot AF in Port A and I was walking all over town looking for a golf cart. The baristas were super friendly and helpful with each customer. This place is popular as the line went through the middle and out the back door. The place is cozy with selling boutique beach items, large tables with games and plenty of seating outside. Barefoot Beans offers drip coffee, pour-over coffee, hot tea, French press, lattes, espresso, cold coffee/tea, and other favorites to enjoy. I remember visiting when I lived in Padre Island and visited Port Aransas. I like the chai latte and smoothies; they are very tasty and delicious. Keep in mind this is a small coffee shop, so plan accordingly when stopping by for a coffee of your choice. Service is friendly and fast, always pleasant when visiting. This place was cute and had a fun surfer vibe. The couple/pair (I don't know if they were an actual couple!) who waited on us were really sweet. My daughter got a smoothie and I got a coffee drink... but they asked us a couple of times about our orders as if they hadn't really been listening the first time. (For example: "And you said you wanted soy milk?" --No. Almond.) It was all a little slow-going. When we finally got our orders, we both disliked them. I even went to the nearby grocery store to see if I could dress it up with some flavored creamer-- no luck. Truly the place where locals go... AND all the island hoppers! Always packed, but you're also always guaranteed a great cup of coffee, whether it's hot or iced. My favorite iced mocha (with extra ice) is found here and we never head to the ferry without making a stop. Decided to get up and watch the sun rise on the beach and needed coffee first. The only coffee shop open at 6a is Barefoot Beans. They did not disappoint! Congrats on opening today, Barefoot Beans! I went to their other location yesterday, and after lunch at the poke place next door, I saw that they were opening a new one today. Had to come stop by! I got another nitro cold brew, and it was awesome! I love the friendliness of the staff and even the regulars who came in to support today. This is the rare business I'd give more than 5 stars to if I could. Starting our Port A mornings here every day is a ritual for us every time we're down here. Over the years, we've met and chatted with so many great locals, including Jace (the owner), it's one of the reasons we think about moving down here at least part-time every time we come. This place is cute and unique with a courtyard in the middle of a bunch of shops and the staff is super friendly but $18 for 2 iced lattes before tip is outrageous. Not even the wealthiest areas of major cities charge that much. read more
