One star, for initial consultation. I thought they cared about my daughter's severe acne, a story…read moreI've had to tell many times. Honestly, it was just a façade for business. Second star, got to the IPL appointment. Turns out, from a second opinion that the state of Wisconsin does not need aestheticians to have any certification. It was brought to my attention that Amy at forever young should have never, ever, even tried IPL on anyone of Hispanic origin, even if skin tone is on lighter side. After the excruciating experienced it made me wonder, unfortunately after the fact. I found out about something that is called the Fitzpatrick scale through the second opinion profesional. He explained it very clear. After this knowledge Amy, the aesthetician should have NEVER put my daughter through IPL, my daughter smelled the burning of her skin, and it hurt tremendously. Forever young had a responsibility to inform us, but according to the second opinion, they didn't inform us because they probably don't know what they are doing, which makes me wonder about certification by the state of Wisconsin. Basic training would cover this very basic knowledge. Fortunately we stopped the treatment. (Funny thing is my daughter wanted to go back) to just deal with it, since we didn't know any better. You have to understand the difficult journey we have been through to understand the rationale behind her thinking that day. But thankfully the aesthetician, Amy said and I quote, " I don't feel comfortable," probably the best thing she did and said. Finally, we ended up leaving, the sad thing is there was no compassion, no empathy. No answers. Just "have a nice day." "Maybe once her face clears up we could try micro-needling," I am disappointed in this establishment. And I am glad we have a second opinion, through this horrific experience I wouldn't have found a different establishment that cares, and wants to help us. Truly, help us and not just take our time and money. This is our honest experience with FY and would do my homework before visiting here. They have a review where someone was burned. I ignored it. I haven't even gotten a call back to see how my daughter is doing or feeling. But that's ok. I learned from this. Hope my experience can help someone on the fence about visiting here.

TL;DR: OMG Shana is the BEST! You won't regret booking services with her!…read more Long Version Where I Gush About How Great Shana Is: Shana has been my aesthetician since 2019, during the time she worked at another salon spa. I've gotten a variety of treatments and services, including my regular Brazilian, occasional full leg waxing, facial, dermaplaning, eyelash tint & lift, etc. There are not enough good words in the English language to describe how great Shana is! (I could start at "A" with Amazing and Awesome, go to "B" with Brilliant and Brave and Beautiful, "C" for Caring, "D" for Delightful, and so on, but I'd be limiting myself to only a few adjectives, and Shana deserves so much more!) Shana has a wonderful way of making you feel comfortable (not that easy when you've got your knickers off and someone ripping hair off your girl parts, let me tell you!) and cared for with love and attention. She has great advice and suggestions, and always tries to answer my nutty irrelevant beauty questions ("Shana, please tell me how I can get rid of these hollow half-moons under my eyes? Shana, why does hair do THIS weird thing? Shana, what even ARE parabens?" Now that she's started her own Spa, I think her services will really shine all the brighter because she's making all the decisions about what products to use, what services to offer, etc. My recent visit was probably one of the least irritating waxes I've ever had thanks to her fabulous post-procedure treatments, and believe it or not more than a week later, my hair has barely regrown!! (Shana, holy moly, don't use too much of that stuff or I won't have any hair left for you to wax!! XD) I could go on and on about how much I love Shana, but if you've read this far, you can probably already tell. Don't delay! Book with Shana today! You won't regret it! PS: I am not related to Shana, nor I was not given anything for free in exchange for this very honest review (nor would I accept anything in exchange for my freely given opinion EVER, anyway) and I say this because of my own worries when I see a bunch of glowing reviews that the reviewers are all just cousins of the owner. Believe me, Shana is just great. She doesn't need to get her cousins to say nice things about her, because everyone loves her!

I booked a blonde highlight appointment online for $61, but what I got was a nightmare experience…read more Halfway through the process, the student casually mentioned it was their first time ever working on a human head--something I was never told when I booked or sat down. They were left to do my entire service almost completely on their own. I ended up sitting in the chair for six hours, past closing time, as they rushed to get me out the door. I wasn't given a mirror to check my hair. The parting was completely uneven, and my hair was ripped through with a brush while wet because they didn't know how to handle wet hair properly. When I checked out, the $61 appointment had ballooned to $133 because they claimed I "needed more product" and a toner--charges that were never disclosed online. I later learned the student had used way too much product, which left my hair splotchy. The educator didn't properly check the work or even part my hair to see underneath. I called the next day to complain and asked for someone else to fix it. I was told they don't allow another student to correct mistakes--the same person has to do it--and that the educator would be with me the whole time. Two days later, during the "correction," the educator was present about 75% of the time, not the entire process. In total, I spent 11 hours in the chair for what should have been a simple blonde highlight service. My hair was re-foiled from scratch, leaving it extremely dry and damaged. I had to buy all new hair products just to keep it from breaking off. To make matters worse, during my first visit, water ran down my neck while rinsing, bleaching and ruining my bra. They mailed me a refund check for that weeks later. At checkout after the correction, they only gave me a partial refund, despite the time, discomfort, and serious hair damage. To top it off, they tried to sell me a conditioning treatment--after they were the ones who caused the damage. Bottom line: 0/10 would not recommend. Booking online for $61 sounds cheap, but by the time you leave, you're paying the same as you would with an actual professional--except here, you might end up as someone's first-ever human subject, at the cost of your hair's health.

Great cut for me. But it's now been 1 hour and 45 minutes for my 7 year old grandsons cut.read more
