Her staff is as equally lazy as she is. I had never met the admin til my grandfathers last day in the facility before he died. We asked for help from the nurses and doctors for the months he was there but ultimately they thought it best not to give him water or juice daily like we had asked, due to failing kidneys. This facility does not do complete charting daily. So we never knew if he got his meds or not. They rushed him to the emergency room once they saw he was septic. He was in a lot of pain we put him on hospice and he died 4 hours later. Don't send a family member here they will make sure of it to kill that family member.

It's the kind of place that sincerely cares about people. The staff is exceptional at what they do and exceptional at understanding people from different walks of life. They are able to have compassion for my mom and her health or mental health difficulties that we all have at times throughout life. I am so thankful that my mom is at Jennings Terrace. There are a lot fancier places, but I don't think there is more skill or care or compassion in those places. This is home for my mom and she is happy there. We decorated her room and she loves it. She goes and sits out by the big cozy fireplace and watches a movie with other residents when the weather is cooler. And, when we walk in are usually greeted by someone who gives us a smile or a group of people playing games and laughing in the game room. This is home for my mom and I am so thankful to Esther, Daphne, Diana, Keosha, Diane and all the other staff members that I haven't named that make sure that things run smoothly. I live out of state and I know my mom is cared for, and it means so much!

Kerry asked a lot of questions to help narrow down our options. She recommended several places to help us determine what size/feel would work best for our situation. Kerry set up the appointments for our tours and checked with us to get feedback. Our timeline for moving needed to happen sooner than we thought, and Kerry helped keep us on track. My father-in-law is happy with his new home and we appreciate Kerry's help.

Several months ago I'd grown increasingly worried about my mom's safety at home. The day we were to…read morediscuss assisted living with her doctor, I found myself calling 911 and sending her to the hospital for what would be 51 days, sepsis, 2 surgeries & 2 rehab stints. Having her return home was no longer an option; which led me to quickly get to up to speed on senior living options, mostly on my own. I found her a place & moved her in all before her release. While I ensured her safety, I second guessed my decisions as she vocally struggled to adjust; it was a lot of change particularly for someone who rarely left her home. Almost 6 months in, a different set of doubts & worries took over. Did I make the right call, could she live somewhere more affordable, would she outlive her money, etc. I don't even recall what search term led me to Senior Living Experts, but I'm grateful. Rebecca listened to my story and made me feel less alone. She thought where my mom was at was the best option in terms of cost, desired location and care needs addressed, but would do the research and circle back. We also discussed the care she received currently and provided a few suggestions. As promised, Rebecca followed up and confirmed her initial assessment. Yes, I'll still worry about her finances, but I now have a better understanding of the landscape and what comes should her care needs increase. If I had a do over, I would have started with Senior Living Experts, they are amazing!

I hope…read moremy mom never has to go to a short-term rehabilitation facility again, but if she does it will NOT be McAuley Manor. The facility seems very understaffed. The call button for the nurse could take 10 minutes for someone to respond. There was a handful of nurses and aides that seemed to care about my mom's well-being, but some of them made us feel like we were a huge inconvenience if we called them to the room to ask questions or ask for help. I'm sure this was due in part to the fact that there isn't enough staff and they were busy, but some need to work on their bedside manners with the patients and their guests. They put a commode in her bathroom that was missing at stopper on one of the legs and was not sturdy. My mom was a fall risk to begin with but no one was concerned that the commode was shaky and could cause her to lose her balance and fall again. I had to put a stack of napkins under the leg without the stopper so that it would not shake, but someone removed the napkins the next day which made it unsteady again. The bathroom was not cleaned frequently. I actually grabbed some paper towels and cleaned the floor myself a couple times I was there. One day that I went to visit, her whole room smelled like urine. Several nurses and aides had been in her room before I arrived that day, but none of them called housekeeping to clean the bathroom even though the smell was quite obvious. I had to actually request to have her bathroom cleaned. Since my mom had limited mobility because of her hip, she needed help showering. She was scheduled to have a shower twice week, but she got about three showers in the whole month she was there. The cafeteria also has a limited menu, so if a patient has any dietary restrictions you'll probably need to bring in food for them. The one good thing I can say about the facility is that the physical and occupational therapists were great. They were very caring and compassionate during her therapy sessions, and they always had a smile on their face when they came into my mom's room to do her therapy or when they just came to visit her to see how she was doing.
