Horrible experience! Save yourself some money and go elsewhere. Purchased glasses, came in about a week later because glasses were rubbing a hole in my nose. They told me to "put antibiotic cream on it. Went back in to talk with manager and they were conveniently "out of town". They never got back to me. I went in again and was then told that the thirty days had passed and they wouldn't replace my glasses. I spent $400 on glasses I couldn't where. I have had good service years ago. Now this place has gone down they are rude and very unprofessional to some customers. They barely answer the phone and if they do answer they put you on hold and stand around and talk. read more

First off they failed to tell me they didnt take my insurance (Blue cross blue shield) after i show up for my appointment that they said was cancelled which I never canceled because I had to wait 6 months before I could get in. The lady at the receptionist counter was super rude although they did get me in still. The pre-test doctor and the eye doctor their-self was nice. read more

I've been to this Bard Optical on N Dirksen Pkwy a couple of times and I have yet to have a good experience, this last time I arrived 15 minutes early and waited an hour and 45 minutes to see the only optometrist they had on duty. I spent a long time in a back waiting room with a guy and a lady and the guy was cursing at the lady the whole time, and he was loud, and no one did anything, like ask them to leave. The counter staff aren't courteous. I will never come back here again. read more

Made an appointment that took months to get. I arrived 40 minutes early and I literally live less than five minutes away. I was checking in and realized, I forgot my driver's license. I asked the lady if I could please run home and get b it and told her how close I live to the office, reminded her of how early I was and she rudely told me no and that I had to reschedule. Are you kidding me?? I'm 40 minutes EARLY. I thought that was really unfair. Especially considering that I was very early, I waited MONTHS for the appointment, and all... Made an eye exam appointment on their website. Arrived at the scheduled date and time and was told they had no record of the appointment even though I had an email from them confirming the appointment. Was told they had no openings that day and would I like to reschedule? I said "no thanks I'll go elsewhere". Don't use their website to schedule your appointment because you won't get in. First they told me my insurance covered everything and then after the exam and whatnot they tried to tell me my insurance didn't cover it. Then After I got my $400 ray bans I accidentally bent them. I went in to get them fixed. It was obvious where the bend was on the frame. They told me if they fixed them they weren't liable, I thought ok that's fine since it's a straight forward easy fix. Nope, the guy bent the frame in a completely different spot which cause them to break. But hey they aren't liable so I'm screwed! If he would've fixed it in the right spot they would have been fine!!! Oh and their customer service is awful they are super rude and not helpful!!!!!! read more

The people in the office are nice. Hence two stars vs one. Everything else is terrible. They are very sloppy and unorganized. They shuttle patients from room to room and you end up sitting waiting for a seat to open up. When you finally see the doctor he rushes through your exam and you leave without really knowing what the next step is. Hopefully I can find somewhere better next time. Would not go back read more

The bard optical in Springfield, IL on Wabash is horrible. They cancelled my appointment and gave it to someone else because I didn't confirm. However, I never received a phone call. They manager there is very rude and racist!! There was a Caucasian girl when I got there cursing and yelling at the manager about not being able to get contacts. The manager response" you need to calm down or I will have to reschedule your appointment" I get upset as a African American and she automatically calls the police on me. Now I never was offered the option to reschedule my appointment even before I became upset. The manager said to me " your appointment was cancelled you didn't confirm and we gave it to someone else" very rude, disrespectful, racist, and unprofessional. I have given them thousands of dollars and have been going to them for years. Never have I ever had to confirm an appointment if I knew that they wouldn't have needed to call me I would have been calling them. I was waiting months for that appointment. read more

Had an appointment got the eyes checked..was gonna get contacts have had em before..was told all id have to do is pick them up...went to pick them up...oh they wanted to schedule another appointment...this is bad..run away....too many good places in town to goto...wouldnt send my enemy there,,,,big ole cluster...dont know dont care...youd be better off going anywhere but this place..save yourself the frustration...just total ignorance...hope they close soon...with that kind of incompetence its a matter of time read more

I have been going to this place for years, but I will no doubt be looking into switching. They have become only concerned with making money and not at all with customer service. For years I have ignored the unfriendly people at the front desk and less than knowledgeable opticians, but recently I was told I could not order my contacts because my last exam was 10.5 months ago. I can tell my vision has not changed, but they are more interested in making money than actually helping me as a patient. They even made up some lie about only being allowed a certain amount of pairs of lenses per year. Several doctors have told me that is a straight up lie. Don't make the mistake I did and get sucked into this place; you should avoid it at all costs. read more

Have come here a couple of times. The doctor knew what he was doing but the staff doesn't. Had some glasses ordered, and called and found out the order was never placed. Also was never told that a new eye exam was needed before I ordered, was a mess. Also the person I spoke to on the phone when I encountered this, was very rude, interrupted me often and wanted to argue with me. And I never even raised my voice. read more
