I recently ( today 11/17 ) lost my dog due to an error in communication between my room mate and the construction workers next door. I didn't find out he was missing until late in the day because of illness. I got a ride to BARCS to see if they had any info after searching the neighborhood. I arrived at 5:57. When I frantically inquired about the wearabouts of my best friend in the world, in obvious grief, I was told "we close at 6, you gotta come back tomorrow". With the full diva attitude. They wouldn't even tell me if it was a possibility he was there. What now, do I keep searching, worrying, crying. If someone came to you and said "My child is missing" would you say "come back tomorrow, were closed"? I have to sit here all night with my heart racing wondering if he's even still alive, just to hope they have him. And if they dont I have to resume searching for him with the trail 15 hours colder. I support what they do, but NOT how thy do it. I see a lot of people on here saying how busy BARCS is. But sitting there watching the place run its obvious. It runs as well as any other business in Baltimore. One employee was sitting there calling for the next client by name, from her desk, with little exuberance. In a packed , noisy reception area. After she called the name several times she eventually got up and casually walked over to the water cooler. Got a drink and then decided to go to the front desk and call the person. Who, by the way, was sitting right by the desk with her crying daughter. Which was probably the reason the women didn't hear the clerks meager attempt at contact. I really hope my dog ISN'T there. I'd hate to she they way they treat someone who cant complain. read more
