This is my second trip to Barcelona and I knew after my first experience touring with this them I would be in great hands. They did not disappoint. Jordan was very communicative leading up to the trip and helped plan three lovely, guided days throughout the city as well as a side trip to Sitges. My parents and I loved our time with Zaida and Silvia who were incredibly knowledgeable and took great care getting us to so many of the city's beautiful sites, including introducing us to restaurants off the beaten path. When the confirmation came in, it looked like the same tour name, Gothic, but when I checked in for the 9am tour, it was clarified that the 3pm tour would be different, Gaudi Modernism. Reservations online were quick and easy. It costs 3 euro to hold a spot. I gladly paid the 6 euro for both. I took the 9am Gothic Tour on a Monday. So many people booked they called an extra guide. Many showed up without a reservation. There were three guides and we broke into three large groups. Juliana was great. She was little and didn't have an umbrella; we very temporarily lost her twice! But her knowledge and enthusiasm more than made up for it! She was also very personable. I highly recommend her! Natalia gave the Gaudi tour at 3pm. She was also extremely knowledgeable and patient; our tour involved getting the group on and off a metro to Familia Sagada. Would welcome her as a tour guide again. As per the custom, you decide the cost at the end. They took my dollars and euros. I highly recommend these tours!!!!

Both though were…read moreamazing as the different guides were able to provide unique information which made it seem like we were covering the topic for the first time. We could not swing The Dark Past Night tour as we were busy on the days for the seasonal rotation. That has been one the family has talked about over the years and we just have not been able to swing with timing. With how exciting multiple guides have told us it is, we will be planning a set day around that on our next trip to Barcelona. The free aspect is nice as we can tip the guide the extra portion in my mind as it is them taking their own time to provide their years of knowledge to you in a fun interactive environment. I would highly encourage anyone to go with Runner Bean Tours in Barcelona as it is better than the actual paid tours that just drag you along and provide canned talking points.

It is an active church that provides masses, confessions, and other sacraments. It also provides tours for 16 euros and up (as of the time of this review). I understand that some people think that a church should be free to enter, but I also understand that many tourists are not practicing Catholics and that the church needs to bring in revenue to pay its bills. My tour guide took my husband and me to the exterior of this church and explained its architecture and history. We did not pay for an interior tour. It is a lovely church to see.

I checked the confirmation email and realized I called him the wrong name. I went back to where he was, showed him the email and apologized for calling him the wrong name. His attitude continued to be standoffish and condescending. We started the tour by Javier telling us he left Spain for a long time, but returned a few years ago to Barcelona because there's a lot of tourism and he does this for the money. He continued by saying "I wish you good luck with pickpockets here, don't take it personally if you get robbed", and then started with a bit of history about Barcelona. We have traveled Europe for over two months, doing free walking tours in each city we stayed at, and this was the first time we left a tour after 20 minutes. Javier's attitude was dispassionate, condescending, and you could tell he does not enjoy showing off Barcelona to travelers. Honestly, I thought his original comment about doing it for the money only was a joke, but soon realized it wasn't. Javier, I'm sorry I called you by the wrong name. I'm sure sometimes you also make mistakes, right? Even after apologizing to you, you made me feel unwelcome and out of place. Perhaps waiting for Sergio's tour would have been best. We were excited to take our first tour in Barcelona and the way you mistreated us left us with a very bitter taste in our mouths. It's unfortunate someone like you is showing this wonderful city to tourists. Perhaps you should reconsider your career. Hospitality doesn't suit you.
