hello. I booked 2 rooms for our trip at the Barcelona Princess for 4 nights. I am a Hilton Diamond member, usually do stay at Hiltons. I was excited to try a new 4 star hotel while looking for resorts in mx for the future, fully wanting to embrace your hotel chain. After staying in the Barcelona Princess I cannot picture trusting your hotel descriptions. The rooms we received were ran down, paint missing from the walks, doors chipped, patio furniture terrible and dirty looking. The lobby is no better, I believe there is no excuse to let it deteriorate as much as it has. If I would have been presented with the real actual photos of the hotel we would have never booked. I subsequently switched to the Hilton Diagonal Mar, and we are happy we did! Regardless of the assurances we received upon checkin that we should return when it is refreshed. We heard nothing other than excuses why things were broken or over used, and that is why you are remodeling. I only suggest you move your star rating to a legit 2, until it has been restored to a 4 star hotel. This stay has certainly provided us insight not to book another Princess Resort facility. How does the customer know, that your other resorts are not as ran down? Not once did anyone offer us anything over than excuses. thank you.

We stayed here for 4 nights 5 days with two children and had a wonderful time. Our room was water view on the 14 th floor with a spacious balcony, bathroom, 3 beds and the most incredible breath taking view. The restaurant on the 3 rd floor has a pool, which even though it was chilly, my children still swam in. The staff, especially Mateo, who spoke English fluently, went beyond and above for the children and accommodated all of our needs. The hotel is located right next to the mall, which is so convenient for everyone's needs for shopping, food, entertainment, arcades, park located all the way on the top of the mall. Just amazing, it is busy so always keep your belongings in eye sight. We had no issues with personal belongings but always had an eye on our possessions. Room service was fast, cleaning service was amazing. It was definitely not loud at all and we stayed with our 5 year old and 9 year old over the weekend and we slept well.Only thing I did not like is the parking which supposedly is located on P5 and costs 23 euros a night but we just parked on P3 and had entrance to the mall and had no problems which costs around 18 euros a day. So about the same, not sure if you can pull in and out as much as you like with hotel parking since we did not utilize this option.

What a wonderful Hotel.  Our friends and I traveled from Paris and as our last vacation destination, we had to see Barcelona while in Europe. Conveniently, the hotel is situated very close to the beach, restaurants and shopping.   Right next door is a mall with some of my favorite stores including H&M and Lacosté. Restaurant wise, there's everything from fancy Italian, Tapas and if you want super casual, there's also a McDonald's.   The staff is very friendly and I suggest using google translator if you are not fluent in Spanish and unlike France, most will speak limited English to you. Our room, although has a gorgeous view of the city, is very cramped but the sheets and linens are of top quality and very high thread count. The channels though, are all in Spanish, it would be nice to have CNN international for those of us who are news junkies and it being available in English. Despite waters leaking from it's glass door, I find the showers are perfect for that last and first thing in the morning as it's super relaxing and easy to use.  On the third floor, there is a pool area where one can relax and take comfort. I had the opportunity to try their AYCE breakfast as well and although price is reasonable (22 US dollars)  it didn't have alot of items I like. US Americans are super picky lol.  There are some restaurants right across the streets which offers delicious burgers, calamari and beer all at very resonable pricing! Overall, I am going to give this place 4 stars. Strengths would be hospitality,  free wi-fi, amazing bar with reasonable prices on wine and LOCATION, LOCATION! Opportunities would be the ELEVATORS, it could use some urgency going up and down.

Spectacular service and well appointed rooms. I stayed on the 8th floor and had a great view! Very clean rooms and well stocked fridge. Staff was excellent and it's attached to a shopping mall, and it's so close to the beach! If you want to go sightseeing, your best bet is to take the hop on/hop off bus tour which picks you up across the street!

This fell on my head after the hotel flooded from the roof pool.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! WHY? Summary: Poorly built hotel (if you do decide to stay here and risk your safety, just pay attention to the shady construction) that does not care about its guests! Details: First night, the hotel's roof pool sprung a leak, flooded an entire wing of the hotel, and left our room, 2 floors right below the pool, with 2 inches of water. Outside our room, there was literally a waterfall! Oh, and this happened at about 11pm and the front desk assured guests that everything was just fine... After rescuing our luggage and getting a free shower of pool chemicals, the front desk finally changed our room (and only because I insisted that the flooded wing was not safe - more on this later). The next day, we had to change rooms again as we needed two beds and the temporary room only had one. This room was back in the flooded wing of the hotel (now dry). Upon leaving the room the next morning, a metal plate of about 15lbs separated from the ceiling and fell on my head! Ouch! Why did this happen? Gee, maybe because the water caused damage to the drywall and ceiling supports! Finally, the hotel director only added to the this awful experience by expecting us to pay for half the stay! Unreal! And the executive controller of the hotel, Joan Garcia, did not even bother responding to my email regarding this situation. Avoid unless you do not value your safety!

Ok as it get's in Barcelona for a reasonable price for a 5 star hotel or a suite. The views are good as long as you're in the top rooms. On high season the room prices for the suites do seem to jump as I stayed during low season for a convention and the suite we got for us was ok priced. Food not best but as I say OK quality for Bcn, near forum area and sea. Also Diagonal Mar mall

    View from the pool bar!

Great location near the beach. The pools are good to take a dip, if you bring small children you will have a good time. The 23rd floor pool has a great view. There are some restaurants near Diagonal Mar shopping mall, but nothing outstanding. The restaurant in the hotel is good enough. The service from the staff is good and they get their stuff done.

This hotel is in a newly developed area of Barcelona with many new hotels, a museum and large shopping center. You can reach the downtown via the streetcar or nearby subway station. The large windows provide a great view of the city or ocean, depending on which side. The window shades can provide privacy, but still let enough light in give an open feeling. The rooms have free Internet (Ethernet cable), and there's free WiFi in the public areas of the building (look for or ask for the access code). The breakfast buffet has a large Spanish influence, so a lot of sweet pastries and fruits. The scrambled eggs were from a ready-mix :-( Coffee/espresso from a self-service machine, as was the hot water for tea. In the evening you can get snacks in the lobby Corner Bar, but only until 11pm (then they refer you to room service, which only delivers to the room). A good location to see a different side of Barcelona, and the beach is only about 500 m away. Barcelona's excellent public transit can get you to the center in a short time.

Drywall screw half inserted into the dealing to stop the shower stall from falling.

This review is from an American's perspective…read more My husband and I took a gamble on Hotwire when changed our travel plans last minute during the second leg of our honeymoon. We ended up with Vincci Bit after the infamous nail-biting confirmation page load, and as I write this review as we drink beers on the rooftop on the last night of our 4-night stay, we couldn't have been more satisfied. Things we loved: This hotel is in the forum area of Barcelona, so it's about a 15-minute metro ride on the L4 line to the tourist attractions in the center of the city. The hotel is located in a residential area, surrounded by a couple of preschools. It is right off Avinguda Diagonal, which is a walking/biking boulevard that feels very safe. There's also a big mall within 7 minutes walking distance with decent shopping with stores like Zara, H&M, Pull & Bear and a giant grocery store. And a Starbucks. This sounds silly, but a big plus if you are used to drinking iced coffees in the U.S. The location is a 10-minute walk to the beach, and because it's a bit more north it's not overrun by tourists. During our stay we spent a couple of hours laying out at Mar Bella and walked right back to the hotel to clean up. The front desk even provided us a couple of towels to use at be beach. Front desk and general service at the hotel is superb. Seriously nice and helpful. Decor is modern and stylish. The hotel is fairly new, which we typically don't care about, but we found that it came with its perks, such as outlets everywhere in the room (rare in the EU) and even a North American power outlet. We suspect they cater to English-speaking if not American clientele. The shower is memorable with rain showerhead and handheld with plenty of water pressure. Beds are comfy and large. WiFi (free) is better than most hotels we have stayed at in Europe. Rooftop pool is small but OK for a quick dip. The rooftop lounge is also small but great for relaxing. We did this when we first got in and on our last night with a couple of beers and some food and it was just so easy and peaceful. Things to consider: This hotel is not in the "middle of things." We were OK with and even preferred this as we were coming off of a week+ in Germany where we stayed smack dab in the middle of Munich's tourist area and were seeking a bit of a relaxed environment. People staying here seemed to be a mix of couples and small groups of friends (late 20s/early 30s on up) and some business travelers.

Upon returning home, I did some research and requested compensation of part of our stay. Since I paid for breakfast in cash about 280 euros, that is what they wanted to pay me. I used Booking.com for the room and they said it would be discussed about a better refund of my stay. They asked me to sign an NDA and not post about this experience. They kept referring to the bed bugs as an "incident". This incident caused me bodily harm, the bagging and non use of all my personal belongings for ten days upon my return to the US. While…read moreit's close to the beach, it is not close to the city center or many of the 'Barcelona' attractions. I chose it due to its proximity to the CCIB (convention center) and it was super convenient. Staff was always super friendly, which is always appreciated. I do like that you can order room service digitally, which was especially nice the after I arrived midday after a transatlantic flight from the states tired and feeling gross. There is a little mall across the street, which is nice. I didn't wander too much, but they do have a few little restaurants there which is quite convenient. They also have Purobeach, which appears to be a chain (ish?) of beach clubs with pool access and restaurants. I dined at Purobeach twice, once on my own and once with a group (separate review coming for that). The pool area was good, I spent some time up there my last day. They have a 'tab' type system to order food and drinks-you tell them on the way out what your table number was and they they charge you (either to your room or credit card). Getting drinks was hard-I saw people getting drinks delivered to them all the time, but no one ever asked me if I wanted to order anything. They had a QR code menu, but I didn't see a way to actually order that way. Either way, it's a nice pool area and the staff was helpful when I kept wanting to move the umbrella near my chair to keep me in the shade. The breakfast is also good, though pricey. You can pre-order and it's 29 Euro, or pay about 35 Euro to 'walk in.' It's a decent buffet, with good options, and some of the best bacon I've ever had. The eggs were terrible, though-way too runny. The elevators have the system where you input your floor number and then it tells you which elevator car to get in. In theory this is great, but the elevators were super slow. On check-in day, it actually said they couldn't assign me an elevator so I ended up walking down 13 flights of stairs to get to the lobby (better down than up, I guess). If I was coming back to Barcelona for a convention, I would probably come back here. Otherwise, I would pick a Hilton a little closer to the action-this hotel was nice, but not nice 'enough' to make up for being so far away from the action.

It's a slow race to see who will complete construction first: the Basilica or the Hilton. I do come back for it's CCIB proximity and it's close to the subway. If you're not staying for a conference (or even if you are and don't mind being a bit out) staying elsewhere is probably your best game. But if you do stay here, it's A-OK.

They try to give off that sexy, mysterious vibe, but as soon as you step into the room, the green ceiling, cheap fixtures and damask wallpaper give it away. The hotel is reasonably "affordable" for its location (near the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta), but definitely in a sketchy area. I highly advise walking outside the hotel at night, as you'll find the rough crowds your parents warned you about. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk, and to get there, you have to cut through some of the sketchiest alleys. I booked through Expedia and was upgraded to a room with a view, a bottle of mini wine & an extra bottle of water. My amenities weren't so great from the moment I opened the door. Since my room was pretty high up, the room was stifling & those views were blocked by a stainless steel mesh. FYI: your room requires a key card at all times if you're trying to use electricity, which includes air conditioning. The shower initially felt luxurious--spacious with a giant waterfall head and solid water pressure--followed by lush bath towels, but that impression faded once I noticed the pockets of mold and grime in the corners. Sleeping was also a challenge since walls are thin and anytime the guests next to me entered their room, it sounded like someone was entering mine, which kept me paranoid and on high alert. Rooftop: the rooftop not only offers panoramic views of Barcelona, but also has a bar and pool, though hard to even suggest the pool is an amenity since it's more so for aesthetic than functionality. On the roof, it's not an open floor plan, so you'll have to walk around the building to get a full 360 view. For those who are height deficient such as myself: prepare for obstructed views because of the high railings (great for safety, but not so much for those under 5'3).

If you aren't feeling the buffet all you've gotta do is ask and they will cook you up a fresh hot plate to order. Jordi in the restaurant gave us wonderful service and made us feel at home. The only thing that bummed us out during our eight night stay was that halfway through some folks checked into the room next door that smoked non-stop on their balcony. We had to keep our balcony door shut whenever they were out there or it would draft right into our room. Of course this is outside of the hotel's control, and it seems like everyone in Europe smokes. It's almost impossible to escape it.
