Barceloneta is one of the many stations on the Barcelona metro, it is on only one line which is the L4 line, meaning the chances are you most likely will need to get a connecting service from here.
The station opened in 1976 and now is accessible with lifts, which is only one of the few stations to have that access.
The location is in the Barcelonaeta area, which is close to Barcelona beach.
It is also the least Underground station in the system, which is interesting.
I called at this station, hoping to use the Metro for the first time, the staff spoke english very poorly but still managed to help sort me out with a ticket which would have been 2.35 euros for one journey or nearly 10 euros for unlimited use for a day. The ticket can be used on the bus or metro service, yet they didn't make sense, they didn't say any dates on, conditions or stations I could travel between. The staff member struggled to explain this to me, when I eventually found him.
I've noticed this station does seem understaffed in that effect.
Overall, I'm struggling to decide whether this station deserves one star or two but mainly down to such poor staff, where I nearly got onto the wrong train if a fellow passenger wouldn't have helped me, and other factors mentioned I sadly don't feel this station deserves more than a single one star. read more
