Their carelessness in demo left me with a damaged sand filter and the additional costs to fix it. ($800) We were pulling up softball size chunks of concrete out of our pool. We also had a piece of wire that stained our liner. We called the owner and spoke with his wife but the owner did not call us back. I also did not feel that they handled billing in a professional manner. At first we were told to pay upon completion but then was asked for money at three points in our construction. (which would have been fine had that been our original agreement.) The concrete does look nice, the crew was on time and friendly. However, the damage to my pool and the unprofessional payment issues left me with a bad feeling about the project overall. The owner's son (Josh, who is the project manager) also actually lied to me when I asked why the fee for a carpenter job they had contracted out for me had gone up. I asked him why the fee went up and he told me that the carpenter had raised his price when it was actually a contractor's fee the owner's son was charging me. (again, this would have been fine if he had just said that.) I withheld the final 1/3 of the payment until the project was totally finished and I could tell they were not happy about this as well.

I hired Clear Choice Restoration for an insurance claim that included replacing the siding. The…read morehouse had two layers of siding, the inner layer was original clapboard and lead-based paint. The crew failed to follow lead paint remediation practices and contaminated my entire yard with lead-based paint chips. They came out twice to "clean up" the lead paint - both times failed to reasonably clean up the lead paint chips. They then claim another contractor caused the lead paint contamination, quit the job without notice, and refuse to file a claim with their insurance company to cover the cost of cleaning up the lead paint chips they failed to contain. IMO, they are trying to get out of their responsibility to clean up the lead contamination. If you have a house that may have lead-based paint, I think you should avoid Clear Choice Restoration at all costs.
