Today was my first visit to Erlton Bike Shop. My experience was nothing short of spectacular. An…read moreincredibly nice gentleman helped my wife and i by fixing the brakes on my knee scooter. Not only did he complete the repair on the spot, he did so at a price that was more than fair while providing that old-style customer service that is next to impossible to find these days. If you need a bicycle, bicycle parts or repair in the Cherry Hill area, this is the place you want to go. Thank you so much Erlton.

The place is small, but still manages to pack a nice assortment of biking equipment, gear, and accessories into their small showroom. They don't have a huge selection of new bikes in the sales room, but I am certain that they could order just about anything you would want. All that being said a big chunk of their business seems to come from bike repairs and service. Today I stopped in with my daughter With her old Huffy bike that had a flat tire. We wheeled it in, and asked if they could replace the tube. The gentleman checked her brakes and said they could use some adjusting as well. He wheeled her bike into the back room and within a moment came out and showed us a glass shard that had punctured the tube. He went into the back again and 10 minutes later the bike was finished with a brand new inflated tube, recalibrated brakes in both the front and back. The brake lines that were sticking out had frayed a bit and another gentleman cut them and capped them so they would be safe. With tax and parts they charged $40. I thought the service and care they put into my daughter's bike that day was excellent and truthfully, I was half expecting them to tell me to drop the bike off and come back in a couple of days. Instead, they took us immediately and fix the problem. Tremendous.

First off, the staff.. Friendly enough, but they don't know what they're selling in some cases and the green ones just aren't trained properly. Ask a question about a specific item, and you'll, at-times, get a shrug, a guess, or a gentle push toward buying something they think might work. Other times, you'll get a jbiwkedgavbke individual who can be friendly. On one end, It's the kind of customer service that leaves you doubting your purchase the second you walk out; while on the other, you'll be happy enough. All is good enough to fit the norm and I would give it a high rating, but what really turned my head the other way, though, is the direction this store is heading. They quietly got rid of their firearms section, clearly as a political move to appeal to the mainstream. That might earn them points in certain circles, but let's be honest, sportsmen don't follow woke trends, and we don't check our rights at the door just to make people feel comfortable. If a true sporting goods store doesn't stand behind all aspects of the outdoor and sporting lifestyle, then what are they really selling? In short: present day good selection, but a store that's lost its backbone. I'll be taking my business elsewhere anymore.

This review will focus on the overall experience and the Intro to Whitewater experience. First off,…read moreANYONE can do this trip, do not bother with the beginner trip down the river. Unless you are medically unfit, you can do this. Exceptional customer service sums up the team at Jim Thorpe River Adventures (aka LOC). They are extremely well organized which makes for a great trip. Everyone from the moment you enter LOC until the very end was polite, professional and wanted to make sure you have a great time. Some tips to follow: you only need to arrive 15 minutes before your group time, this allows ample time to get situated. Buy their pre-made lunch, it is well worth the 10 bucks, bring extra water on the raft (especially in the summer). Use the bathroom before you get on the bus (and be quick). They give you a dry bucket for your lunch and items, yes you can bring your phone in a dry pouch. Wear a hat and a sun shirt, it is hot and sunny, without much shade. Jump in the water when you have the chance !! If you are a "full figured" person it will be difficult to re-enter the raft, be aware. The trip down river is very safe and well organized. The guides are VERY safety aware ! If you are nervous and listen to them, the team will get you down the river without a hitch ! A few suggestions: don't go on a busy holiday weekend, it can get crowded on the river, the safety briefing takes a long time and you a sitting in the sun (remove your vest and drink water), during July and August I would imagine the water is very low and slow (if it is a dry summer)...best only if you want to have a relaxing rafting trip. Overall, a bunch of fun. The entire family had a great time.
