Having had it only once before, and it being the perfect distant from my office, I satisfied my taco craving last Saturday right here. The two guys working the line were super nice, my order was put together fast and fresh, and it was really tasty. I got the chicken tacos; one hard, one soft, both of which were equally delicious. Don't know when I'll be back, but I definitely will and most likely will get the same order. I was hungry after my dentist appointment and decided to finally eat here. The food was delicious and the price is waaayyy better than other franchises with a similar menu. I love that they offer FREE chips with every entrée and the have a salsa bar! The Mini Burrito is made with a 10" white or wheat tortilla and was the perfect size for me. The meal was quite filling and would've been under $10 if I didn't order the guacamole. I'll be coming again! I'm excited to try the Jerk Fish Tacos! read more

I went to the Throne twice this visit.. Very clean the water was a decent distance from the top no splash back.. it however is under a vent i was chilly.. feels like 52 degrees The first time i came out i barely had any soap to use even the soft soap they had advertised was out..and they still didn't refill it for my second visit to the Throne.. I did enjoy the dim lighting personally. The music as well was a nice touch. The sensor freshener also work which helped out tremendously! read more

This place has really gone downhill. I used to order from here all the time and now I'm done. I recently placed an order for delivery. They forgot the ranch and the side of queso I paid extra for. You have to get extra protein for it to be near enough for the chips. A little while after I finished eating my stomach started to hurt and feel upset. I couldn't sleep that night due to the stomach pain. Something was wrong with this food. It's extremely rare for food to upset my stomach. read more

This was my first time and I was impressed. I got a mini burrito which I absolutely loved. I usually stay away from burritos because they're too big for me to finish and they don't make for good leftovers. Here you can opt for a mini burrito for $1 less than the regular. I love the size of the mini, it was the perfect amount of food. Don't think mini means kids size though, unless you're thinking of a really big kid with a really big appetite. Their spicy chicken looked so good I had to try it. I'm not a big spicy person, so the girl recommended mixing it with regular chicken and that was fantastic. Like I said, I'm not a spicy fan and I would say it's a 6/10 on spice. I definitely needed the regular chicken to bring down the heat level a bit. The chips were also good. Woah this place is a true gem! My friend describe this joint as a better version of chipotle and I completely agree. So what's so great about this? It's ran by a family and they are so friendly! They kept asking if we wanted anything and how everything was..like a real restaurant. Recall, this is a franchise! Besides having the best customer service, they have so many sides! Wait it gets better, they will sautee the sides too! They also have a free salsa bar and chips come with your entree and free refills. How can you compare this to chipotle!? I love Barberitos! I live close by, so we dine here often. Lately we've been ordering online and gotten curbside pickup because of COVID and we've been very impressed. The service is prompt and friendly and our food has come out fresh each time. I love their burritos, but they also have good looking burrito bowls, salads, tacos, and quesadillas. When I lived in NC, there was a Barberitos right around the corner from us, and we used to eat there all the time. That was ten years ago, and I hadn't been to a Barberitos since then. I have always wanted to revisit but never had the chance. But my chance came today. I was cruising around Knoxville looking for something to eat when I saw the big Barberitos sign behind the even bigger 5 Guys sign. I pulled in and gazed at the menu. Typical set up as Chipotle or Moe's, but the food is much better here. They have chicken, spicy chicken, beef, and pork for the fillings. I went with the spicy chicken. I chose a salad with iceberg and spinach. They topped it with the delicious spicy chicken and black beans. Got to add some pico de gallo, guacamole, salsa, jalapenos, cilantro, lime, and it was so good. The salad is huge and filling. I am so glad Barberitos met my expectations from years ago. Now I have to be bummed for another ten years waiting for the chance to come back. Best "fast food burrito" joint out there. read more

I'm not sure how long Barberitos has been in Knoxville but it's definitely worth trying. They're similar to Moe's and Salsaritas, priced the same as well. They have healthier food options and vegetarian food options. I have had the quesadillas and the nachos and the person I was with had a salad. All of it was delicious and this place is worth going back to. They can customize whatever you want however you want it. On Fridays they advertise for fish tacos too. read more

Wow! The customer service and food was outstanding. We popped off the interstate for a late lunch and all were pleased. I had the Jerk Tilapia burrito with grilled veggies, my son had the ground turkey bowl and the ladies had quesadilla's. Food: good, but end of day so not so fresh. Service: curt and impolite. The door even says they close at 10pm, but we walk in at 8:45 with 3 kids and they say that they are closing at 9pm. So they basically treat us like an inconvenience... There's no more ground beef, only one person to make and top six burritos, very inefficient and impatient with questions. Place is decent to eat at and the food taste good. Also, it's easy to eat a plant based (vegan) meal here. I'd rate it higher except for the following: Minus one star for allowing large to-go orders to walk straight to cashier and order by handing them a list. They just bypass everyone that is already in line and the food being prepped gets put on hold till the to-go is filled. They should have to get in line like everyone else and then hand the the list. Which, by the way, the employees are laying on the food prep surfaces. So maybe that's a bad idea to take a list, just have the person read it. read more

Vegetarians! This southwest spot has tofu options. I had takeout for the first time today. I had the tofu salad with southwest vinegarette and husband had the steak salad. I mixed the three green options & loaded my salad down - mushrooms, green pepper, tomato, corn, cucumber, jalapeños, black beans, cheese & black olives. The tofu was flavored with a southwest marinade & everything tastes fresh. Husband was very happy with his salad too. Our order came with a large side of chips & poblano salsa. We threw in an order of guacamole, but my salad filled me up too much to eat it. We will def be back. read more

Excellent! I visited the Johnson City location a few weeks ago and was impressed so when I learned there was a Knoxville franchise too I made time to give it a try also. It was well worth the trip, good food and plenty of it served by a hard-working, friendly staff. My advice? Come hungry as you'll get plenty to eat and if lunch is your target you'd best get here early, or late, as the lines get long and seating scarce around the noon hour. LOVE this place! Wish there was one where I'm from. I was in Knoxville for a business trip and stopped by here after checking into my hotel which was conveniently a short walk away. They weren't busy when we arrived, but I'm sure they are for lunch. (I went outside of "normal" lunch hours.) The easiest way to describe them is that they are a like local Chipotle. I believe they use all natural ingredients though (or at least I hope I am remembering correctly). They have chicken, steak, fish, etc. Normal Mexican-style restaurant options; rice, beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, etc. One of (I'm sure) a few differences, is that they offer nachos (while Chipotle doesn't but Freebirds does). Everything is priced around the same price (~$7/entree) whether its a burrito, burrito bowl, or nachos. They have more seating than you expect, as it looks small on the outside. One complaint, is that they do not have napkins at the table. They have napkins in this odd dispenser that only dispenses one napkin at a time. I've only had one experience, but it would definitely be on my return list if I am in Knoxville again. I'm not sure what else needs to be said. read more

I have tried all of the burrito joints and nothing compares to the spicy chicken and chipotle hot sauce! Tonight I ordered through Door Dash . From Barberitos. Mistake.Two tacos, and a chicken burrito bowl. The order did not show the extras needed to COMPLETE the chicken burrito bowl. The reciept did say bowl.I called the restaurant once and they said just chicken was on the order. Not true. I was charged for a chicken burrito BOWL. Not dry chicken. By itself. I called back to clarify the receipt showed I paid for a chicken burrito bowl. The manager answered the second time. He said" we wondered why there was no fixings added to the order. " Arguing with me after I ask, why wasn't I called. States." We don't call third parties". I have gotten calls from restaurants before to clarify. I said why didn't you ask the Dasher who had been there quite awhile, to call then? No answer from him. I called the Dasher and she said when she read the order to them to in the beginning , they stated everything was complete.After no help or satisfaction from the manager I am calling Barberitos Cooperate. read more

I've been a huge barberitos fan since living down the street from one in Johnson City seven years ago. I was stoked when one finally opened in Knoxville. They have the freshest ingredients and highest food quality that leave the other competitors in the dust. Yes, the spicy chicken burrito is delicious but Barbs is also my go to spot for a quick to-go lunch salad during a busy work week. Over 20 fresh toppings for your salad! If you are living in or visiting Knoxville and you go to Moe's or Salsaritas you are doing it wrong!! Also the customer service is superb. Friendly staff and management make sure you have everything just the way you want it for an enjoyable meal. Go on a Friday and get jerk fish tacos add mango salsa. Atmosphere was pretty standard fast-food, though things seemed clean. I didn't try the food, however, because when I went to order the guy behind the counter stopped using a mop (red-handled, which usually is supposed to signify a particular use in food service), came to the ordering area, got a paper towel and wiped his hands without washing them, and proceeded to start putting gloves on. Heath code dictates that hands must be washed prior to handling the gloves you're putting on, and if something like that isn't followed in front of a customer who knows what else might be overlooked. read more
