This service entity makes big promises but under-delivers. We contracted with the because they are…read morea faith-based organization and because so many locals defined them as the best. Unfortunately, they fell far short. The following is a list of the shortcomings as we experienced them: 1) Multiple attempts to get the imaging of our home and surrounding properties for the initial design and consultation phase. The technician that came to the property had to be here three times before they got all the measures and images correct - in the end, they did not get the existing/remaining plantings in the drawings. 2) The design did not consider the topography and drainage needs. We had to demand a review of the property to get them on board. 3) The design consultation was held on Zoom - no problem there. We had to send the design back several times before they incorporated all of the elements we asked for. We did not ever land on a "wonderful" design and they still have not provided a comprehensive plan including irrigation needs and the existing elements of our landscape that would not be adjusted. 4) When we asked for the delivery of designs that met the promised criterion, they tried to collect more money. They considered the times we had to send the plans back due to their mistakes, a part of the revisions. 5) They were regularly slow to respond to email - it took all summer to get our plans in hand. 6) The plan is nothing outstanding - it's a pretty boring plan without achieving the look and feel we described in our multiple meetings. It was as though they did not want to hear what we were asking for. I do not recommend this company for design services. We remain dissatisfied and do not feel this was a good value for our investment.

Admittedly, the only thing that gave me any pause was that he doesn't have many reviews- don't let that deter you!! Nick gave us an incredible design and worked with us to revise and phase it out for budget purposes. We completed phase 1 of the work with him this spring (deck demo and paver patio install) and it was absolutely seamless. From tweaking design to picking materials, Nick was always accessible and a great communicator. His crew worked quickly and efficiently and we are SO thrilled with our new outdoor space. We'll be calling Nick again next year to tackle the rest of our project! Cannot recommend him highly enough.

We hired Nick and Viewpoint Design Group LLC to landscape our backyard in April 2022. Our project…read moreincluded design services, complete removal of existing backyard landscaping and patio, save for one tree, pouring of a new concrete patio and hot tub pad, installation of a gas fire pit and gas line for our grill, new sod, 5 large trees, around 20 plants, and a new irrigation system to include new valves and lines. Many aspects of the project fell short, and if you don't want to read any further, my recommendation is to look elsewhere for your landscaping needs. Pros -Very solid design work, our backyard originally looked great and the design is much more functional and private. Cons -Patio: the subcontractor ran short on concrete and I witnessed them pulling what was left from the pump lines and a catch tray to complete the project. The result is a portion of our patio that has incorrect drainage/pooling, spalling and cracking. -Irrigation: and entirely new system, including valves, was supposed to be installed. None of the valves were replaced and I am now having significant problems that will require a complete replacement of the 20 year old valves. -Plants: Nick assured me that the 7 boxwoods he had planned would hold up to my two male dogs. They were dead within 3 months, replaced under his warranty, and were all dead again the following spring. In researching, it turns out that boxwoods are not tolerant of dog urine whatsoever and something else should have been used. -Fire pit: beautiful centerpiece in our backyard. Unfortunately, it was slammed together at the last minute and the internal structure couldn't support the lava rock. I rebuilt it myself less than 6 months after the project was completed. Lawn: extremely lumpy and uneven, is going to require a bunch of sand and labor to get it where it needs to be. I spoke with Nick many times after our project was completed to address some of these issues (not all were immediately present or known about) and was brushed off and made to feel like I was putting him out...after cutting him a check for $60k. Not only is the value not there, I am now paying a second time for things that weren't done correctly the first time and in some case were borderline fraudulent like the sprinkler valves.

I hired Aspenwood to tear out and replace 4300 square feet of sod. Josiah came out to quote the job and his pricing was competitive. He was also successful in convincing me to consider a new strain of rhizomatous tall fescue over blue grass, with the former being resistant to drought and requiring less water to maintain. It looks great! His crew worked extremely hard and paid attention to detail while completing the project. Aspenwood had the right equipment to do an excellent job in soil prep, which included 15 tons of soil treatment. At the completion of the project, Omar (their crew chief) was meticulous in adjusting the sprinkler heads to their original state. Aspenwood Landscape is involved in other forms of landscaping, and I will be using them again in the future.

I am so thrilled to have found Brandon and BG Lawn & Landscape. I'm new the the region and come…read morefrom a place where water restrictions and heat basically mean dirt and weeds are standard. When I moved to Colorado last summer I was in awe of the well kept manicured green lawns that everyone in my neighborhood had. Having really no in depth experience on how to maintain a healthy lawn I was really anxious as the winter chill left and spring began to green everything up. I had arrangements with another company but they flaked...absolutely flaked, so I reached out to Brandon more or less in panic mode as I did want my yard to get past the point of help as summer approached. Brandon responded to my inquiry on the same day as I made it and we agreed to a visit within a couple of days. He showed up on time, couldn't haver been nicer and most importantly for me... he was so patient with me and answered all my questions and concerns. Later that evening he sent me a thorough proposal with fair and reasonable pricing. I approved the estimate and within a few days Brandon was out in the yard doing a ton of weeding, mowing, feeding and trimming. We hired Mendoza Brothers in 2023 to redo our front and backyard landscaping and irrigation. Based…read moreon what happened afterward, I would not hire them again and would not recommend them. The most serious issue was the grading of our front yard. After the project, water collected near the house rather than draining away. A timber-edged planting bed they installed also impeded drainage. After our basement flooded, both our general contractor and an engineer inspected the property and identified the grading as a major contributor to the problem. We later had a second flooding event when a major irrigation fitting they had built failed and released a large amount of water into the yard. When another contractor later rebuilt portions of the irrigation and drainage systems, they found additional problems, including sprinkler heads that had been buried while still connected rather than properly removed or capped. The backyard work was also disappointing. The sod they installed ultimately died, we were later told there had not been enough topsoil beneath it, and the yard was left uneven. We ultimately spent tens of thousands of dollars repairing water damage and correcting drainage, irrigation, landscaping, and basement issues. I cannot fairly attribute every dollar of that expense to Mendoza Brothers because multiple factors were involved. But their work created or contributed to several of the problems we had to spend substantial money correcting. I do not write this lightly. In our case, problems with grading and irrigation became serious problems for our house. I would not use Mendoza Brothers again.
