My Father went here for decades as has my Brother. I recently took my very picky teenage Grandson and he was VERY happy! No bells, no whistles. Just the good old trustworthy barber that knows how to cut boys' and men's hair. read more

Barber Joe's is a pretty cool place to get a haircut, good conversation and if your lucky some real estate advice. Lol. Tigren is a great barber. I been coming to place ever since Le was hired a few years ago and when she retired during the pandemic last year Tigren graciously started cutting my hair and I been continuing to come back. He listens to what you want and suggest what he thinks and that's pretty cool. Even though he had to move to appointment only, which is great, I highly recommend Joe's. read more

I've been getting my hair cut by Tigran for as long as I can remember... over 10 years. Pretty much everything in my life has changed during that time, except for my barber-- I trust him with my hair and I keep going back to him because not only does he consistently do a great job but also he is genuinely fascinating to talk to. Guys, give this place a try! You won't regret it. read more

First visit, last visit. Was hoping for a reliable local barber. I found the main guy Tigran to be a bit overbearing, loud and very full of himself. One minute into the visit he's dropping F bombs. i asked to have him really focus around my ears to make sure there was no hair left- like a whitewall. I Get home and there is a huge tuft of long hair sticking our behind my ear. Which i had to remove myself. Not a bad guy but i go for a haircut, not lectures on life. read more

Quality haircuts at a reasonable price. Classic barbershop. Ask for Tigran! If you're looking for a new barber or are from out of town it's definitely a better option than going to a Supercuts or great clips. read more

No frills or gimmicks here just a straight up old school barber shop experience. $13 for a solid hair cut. I have been here several times and had good experiences. There is something about a local barbershop that makes it a great experience. Like I said no frills here but none are needed for a good cut like this. read more

I've been coming to the same barbershop for almost forty years. My sons came here when they were growing up. The barbers have changed over time, but the place remains as an old fashioned no frills shop with reasonable prices. I always leave looking good and feeling good. Friendly staff, good conversation. The place to go for a haircut if you're in the neighborhood. read more

I made an appointment and less then a hour I was in a seat. they did a GREAT! job on my hair, I was very satisfied and I will be coming back. Thank you Jo's barber shop. read more

Don't let the retro barber shop decor fool you -- Joe knows how to cut any style of hair. He charges less than the chain hair places and provides friendly, small town barber shop conversations to boot. read more

Upon the recommendation of a long time Sacramento local family, I took my son here. He's got a head full of cowlicks and I hate having his hair cut with an electric razor. It was a little close to closing time but they still welcomed us in, cut his hair by hand and cleaned up his neck. He looked great. The haircut was cheaper than any of the corporate places. All in all a neat little place. read more

Reminds me of real barber shops when I was a kid. I don't care for the fancy nonsense or more tv's than a sports bar. Great haircut at a fair price. read more

Writing this for my boyfriend. He never ever gets a good haircut from the super cuts and various other plces he goes to. He always comes home and has to fix it. I finally talked him into going to a Barber. You would think a man should know he needs a barber. Well he went last week and his hair cut was perfect. He loves it and he promises to go back. read more

I came here based on a good friends recommendation and let me tell you, I have had some good haircuts before but this takes the cake!. I love the old school barber shop feel to the place but that's not the reason I am writing this review. The blonde lady there by the name of Diane is a master at her craft, I will never go to any other barber ever again. My hairline is terrible and the texture of my hair makes it very hard to style but after telling Diane what I wanted from my hair she knew exactly what to do!. I have never been happier with how my haircut turned out, total boost of confidence. I recommend anybody that goes there to wait for Diane she's the best!. read more

Absolutely the best barber shop in Sacramento! Barber Joes has been here forever, and there's a reason. Friendly service, good conversation, and one hell of an old-fashioned haircut. read more

I referred my husband to go here based on Yelp reviews after he had a terrible experience at Supercuts waiting for 45 minutes and then when he was going to be up next, a person walked in that had an appointment and they took that person in front of my husband. So, knowing that Barber Joe's doesn't take appointments, I sent my husband to Barber Joe's telling him he wouldn't be sorry. After waiting some time with one guy in front of him, it looked like he was up next, but some older guy came in and "Barber Joe" took that guy before my husband without saying a word to my husband. To add insult to injury, a blonde lady came up to my husband and told him that he had just "got passed up." My husband left. What a disappointment. I think this place is good if you are an old/older customer, but not a new one. Apparently, they don't want new business. read more

I was pleased by my hair cut that I got and it was priced as advertised on Yelp. I would definitely recommend this place and go back myself. I would consider myself lucky as I was out and just decided to get a haircut. read more

In town for a couple of weeks. Joe is the "OLD SCHOOL" barber.

I just took my son to get a haircut here. It was hands down, the best haircut he has ever gotten. We have been to practically every barber shop in Sacramento, Roseville, and Folsom, and I am never happy with his cut until now. His hair is perfectly cut and faded, his cowlicks are nicely hidden, and there was no wait for his haircut. I highly recommend this barber shop. read more

Wonderful place! All the barbers are amazing and give a nice oldies vibe. Love their work and atmosphere. Keep up the great work.

This is where I take my son for his hair cuts. This place is a step back in time ~ this is an old school barber shop. Bring cash or your check book as they do not take credit cards. For $13 my son get's great service and a nice chat and a good looking hair cut. Thanks Barber Joe! read more

Horrible experience. Went in and explained what I wanted but they didn't acknowledge what I had said and just started hacking away at the hair on the top of my head. I stopped, tried to clarify, and sat back down. At this point they took a new approach and were about to go at it with the clippers with a shaky hand holding the clippers wrong, and I cancelled and walked out on the spot. I am tall and the excuse was that they didn't know what to do because they could not see the top of my head. I am an amateur barber (unlicensed with only about 40-50 haircuts experience), where you would expect things like this, so thankfully i could recognize this inexperience and react in time to save my haircut by leaving. The ineptitude was shocking. I think this was a barber in training (benefit of the doubt at least), but the other barber left the building so if it was a trainee they weren't being supervised. You really roll the dice sometimes. Heads up people. read more

Went in there to get my hair touched up after a horrendous haircut from the previous day (at a different barber) and they touched it up for free!!! Has the feel of an old school barbershop, too read more

First time, the cut was ok. So I decided to come back. Big mistake. I asked for the same cut, an Ivy League. He proceeded to chop away at my hair with the loudest clippers ever. By the end of the cut it seemed alright so I gave him a tip and walked away. When I got home, I immediately needed a refund, he cut it 1 inch shorter for the same exact hair cut, the back of my head wasn't lined up at all. He cut the back so bad that I had a patch of virtually no hair. And as I began to mess with it I realized that i had so many cow licks it wasn't funny. You'd be better off going to great clips or keep looking for another barber. DO NOT GO TO BARBER JOES read more

Well, I'm sorry to say that i got just about the worst haircut of my long life here. ("Just about" because I spent several years in the Navy.) My hair flopped over my ears after I told her that I wanted it short, and my beard trim was so lopsided that I had to take it down to 1/2 inch after I got home and saw it in the mirror. Thank goodness nobody else saw me before I got home. read more

Took my son here a few months ago for his second haircut. I wanted to get him a faux hawk so I wanted someone who knew men's haircuts. The women who cuts here did an amazing job for him. I took him back today for another cut and a man cut his hair instead. I knew it wasn't going to go well when after I told him what I wanted he said "ya short okay" and then took a phone call during the haircut. Not only did he straight up bowl cut my sons hair. He did it unevenly and then combed it over so you couldn't see. He then charged me $13 for a men's cut instead of the $11 for a boys cut. (And ya my son is 2 so there wasn't a way he could be mistaken for a man). I'm giving two stars because the woman cut my husbands hair today and did a good job on him. Two stars for two good haircuts. Unfortunately due to the massacre on my sons head (right before I wanted to take him for professional photos) we won't be coming back. read more

My boys have been going there for 10 years. They are soo great and the prices I don't think have ever changed. They only go there for cuts and have never gone anywhere else. Totally recommend it. read more

Nothing new or trendy... it's NOT a salon, it's kind of ole school barbering, but always a good hair cut. Been going here for 10 or 12 years, and have had short hair and long during that time. And the price is great!!! read more
