I started going to Andy's Ghetto Cuts years ago. Look I'm not clowning or disparaging the place. I love it as you can tell by the 5 stars. I've just always referred to it that way because it's a little hole in the wall place next to a Circle K. When I first started going haircuts for men were only 9 bucks! Now they're like $15. I ain't mad at em. It's reasonable. It's $22 at Great Clips. What I like is that Andy doesn't talk to me. Some people love to chat while having their hair cut. I hate small talk. I don't do chitchat. He knows what I want and they deliver it. Fast and silent. I timed it once. 6:15 seconds to get my hair cut. Snip snip. I pay and I'm out looking like all that and two bags of Funyuns. They do a good job. I moved across town several years ago and still drive across town to Andy's. They keep me looking this awesome. Awesomeness on sale for fifteen bucks. Can't beat it. read more

I'm a pretty simple cut and there's no where I'd rather go. Andy's is probably one of the most affordable barbershops you can go to in the area and expect more than a bad haircut. These guys are located in Carmichael at the corner of Manzanita and Auburn Blvd. not the best area of Carmichael but they do a great job at cutting hair. Never been disappointed with my son or daughters haircut. They're efficient and waiting time is 1-5 min even when they're super busy. Regular haircuts for men/kids usually cost about $10 and for girls/women around $12. Great prices for the haircut quality they offer. Sure, it's a little hole in the wall, but it's been remodeled and is modern now. I always get an excellent haircut, and I must say, the prices are outstanding at Andy's. I have an adult son who is disabled. I have watched Andy and his staff with my son, and they always look out for him and treat him with respect and kindness, often coming outside to help him access the store. this will be my first Yelp review ever. I'll start by saying I've been to this place about 3 times and gotten my mohawk and beard done here and the 2 guys I've gotten have done really good clean work. then yesterday I came in and brought my partner with me just to get his beard cleaned up. he had a nice full long beard and we just wanted to clean up the stray hairs. he told the barber he that and specifically said he wants to keep the length of the beard. this guy cut off his whole beard ALL THE WAY DOWN!!! I hadn't even seen it till we were at our car and when I looked across I saw it and my heart sunk. not only did he cut the beard off the the hack jobs he did made him look like a muppet. my partner is devastated. he has been crying, he's depressed. he hates looking in the mirror. he loved his beard and it took him a long time to get it to that length. and this is just before all of our holiday events even though I liked my results from the other guys there I will not be returning here. read more

Went in for a haircut on a Sunday. Showed the older guy exactly what I wanted. He said okay. He kept cutting my hair shorter and shorter. I tried to tell him it wasn't even on both sides he wanted to argue and make one side higher. I stopped him and left. I won't go back. I had a horrible fade and the top of my head had a completely uneven cut. I had to find a different barber to fix it and even he said who screwed up your haircut. read more

Hey, I'm Asian and he's Asian so he must know how to cut Asian hair. I decided today for a haircut. I walk in and there's White, Black and me. Andy handles all types of hair. I asked for a fade and got a pretty good one. Cut and wash was $13. Plus a good tip. I'm glad to have found a great barber close by. read more

My husband is an ex Marine- and I had grown to liking the fade cuts given on the military base. As now we are a long way from base, we had been seeking for quite sometime a new barber to cut his hair just the way that I love. Many places are not so good at fades actually, but Andy's is perfect! Not one time have I, nor my husband, left there unsatisfied. Super cheap- can't beat $8 plus tip. We go there every two weeks, and drive from North Natomas to make sure they cut his hair. I used to get my haircut next to my house around the corner. They are VERY pricey, but I couldn't find any other place that can cut my hair as I wanted, which is very very simple by the way, that is until my cousin referred me to Andy. They used to be at a different spot. So I went and checked it out. WOW... they did exactly what the other store did for less than half of the price. I was very impressed with the job they did. So when Andy moved and opened his own store about a year ago, I moved too. I have been getting my haircuts there ever since. He is excellent. I hear all the others are just as good, but I ask for him because I'm used to getting my haircut by him and he does a good job. He doesn't even ask me what I want anymore, that's how much I've been going there. Sometimes, it is good idea to call him first, because the place gets packed. If you go on week days and early, it is not busy at all. I recommend him over any other places I've been. Quick and clean! I walked in there right at 9am. Andy (or at least I think it was him) cut my hair and had no problem cutting my one year old sons hair! Both great haircuts and we were outta there by 9:30am. Best part about it is that he only charged me 10 bucks per cut. This place is awesome... So I just moved to California from Hawaii. I've been looking for a place to give seamless fades and a great faux hawk.. The price was insanely cheap for the service I got. It was only $8 for the hair cut. Great job guys. Super fast, super friendly service. This is my go to place from now on and I'd urge anyone else who likes to have great looking hair to do the same. I've been here 3 times. The reason that I come back is at the 1st and 2nd the young barbers did good jobs. But the third was horrible. The old man cut my hair I don't know his name his chair by cashier desk. The sides are uneven and the fade ( if you can call it a fade ) is very choppy and uneven. My neckline wasn't even straight. It was the worst fade I have gotten in my whole life , then I ended up shaving my head at home. I won't be going back. read more

Let me start off by saying this place provides great value for your money. The guy I got rushed a little bit and was on the phone (using earphones) the whole time he was cutting my hair. That being said he did a decent job. And if I look at the money then he did a great job. Nobody would cut your hair better than these guys for 10 bucks. I got my beard lineup for 3 bucks. Now that's another steal. Of course I handed him a fat tip. Most customers seemed regulars. Overall great experience. read more

You'd be hard pressed to get a better haircut at this price. It's my go-to in a pinch or on short notice. Don't frequent it as much because I feel like they have kind of an assembly line vibe where they are processing their customers in and out with very similar styles, but those cuts are still really good and beat most $25 haircuts I've paid for. read more
