I have been going to see Jacob for a few years now. Not only does he do amazing Men's cuts, he can transform boys with a single haircut. He is so good, I drive from Granite Bay to his new Sacramento location. If you are looking for a great cut, go to the best. Barber Blues supports local communities as well.

Been looking for a good spot for a haircut, they make it easy with online appointments and pre-pay haircuts and tips so you don't have to worry about carrying any cash or tip. It's your responsibility to come on time to your appointment. I cut my hair with Mario, he's super chill and has been cutting hair for 8 years in Sacramento.

Our second date. She loved me even when I was a baldy.

After years of shaving my head with a razor due to balding, several months ago I decided to grow it out again just to see what I was still working with. Much to my delight, and with the help of a generic hair regrowth product, my hair turned out to grow much healthier than I could have imagined. However, I now faced the dilemma of where and how to get my hair cut and styled... After several haircuts at popular chain franchises, I enjoyed the results, but longer hair required a more nuanced approach. After setting a wedding date with my beautiful fiancé, I decided to try a classier approach to my grooming. I discovered Barber Blues and found myself intrigued by the classic approach the shop seemed to take to men's haircuts. I scheduled an appointment over the phone with Jacob for later on the same morning, and he was polite and fortunately had availability. I arrived to my appointment on time and was accommodated in a very timely fashion in turn. Jacob was friendly and professional throughout my haircut. I shared my ideas with him about wanting to "class up" my look a bit, and he made several very helpful recommendations. This included the best direction in which to comb my hair due to my cowlick and figuring out a good length for the sides. Near the end of my haircut, Jacob put a mystery product into my hair to style it before the grand reveal. Much to my surprise, my hair actually looked amazing! After years of accepting baldness (think along the lines of a Mr. Clean/Vin Diesel look), I felt the confidence that comes with having a fresh and handsome cut. The mystery product turned out to be a Reuzel clay matte pomade, and I picked up a tin in hopes of getting similar results at home. I'm happy to report that it was a perfect choice. I was married the following day to the woman of my dreams, and I am genuinely grateful to Jacob and Barber Blues for helping me make it happen in class and style. I will definitely be back!

I went for the first time last Wednesday. I've been looking for a new barber. I saw that they had good reviews, when I walked in I was relieved to see how clean it was and the barbers all seemed pretty chill. I got a cut from Jesus. Awesome conversation holder. But ok the other had he dropped the clippers during my cut. And didn't seem to know how to cut my type of hair. So that was a bummer. Well after all that I got home later that night and the back of my head was itchy. The next day at work it was itching as well. Days go but and it's almost been a week and I've been to the dr and a dermatologist. I've broken out into a nasty rash because of his clippers. I did love the place and the atmosphere but this is just not cool.

Finishing touches. Haircut and beard/mustache trim.

This place is always clean and has a friendly, professional staff. My boyfriend had his appointment today with Gabriel and he did an amazing job working on his haircut and beard trim. He had a vague idea about what he wanted, but couldn't really describe it in words as he was a little unsure. Gabriel ran with the limited description and gave him the cleanest look he's had in a while. He will definitely keep coming back!

Walked in and Gabe took us for a last minute cut! Super dope service, excellent quality cut! Highly recommend this shop and this barber to anyone in Sac or visitors like us! WORTH it!

I used to live a block away and found this place when it first opened nearly 15 years ago. Since…read moremoving down south, I still make the trip. Booking, canceling, and changing appointments are so easy--all online. The barbers/stylists are quite the mix. Some are permanent fixtures, while others come and go like any business. I recently found a new barber here, HENRY. He is phenomenal. Although I am nearly bald, I get a h/c about every 2 weeks, and I don't mind paying full price, given Henry's superb attention to detail. He makes me feel like I've had a spa day makeover! While other guys just buzzed my head and used a trimmer on the back (stylists can't use a straight razor, I've learned), Henry is an experienced, pro barber. He attends to the littlest of hairs, examining every angle of my head. He attends to my ears, brow, skin (always moisturizes my scalp), and uses a razor to make the neckline stellar. He wraps it up with a light aftershave thing that leaves me feeling refreshed! It's the details that set apart a good haircut from a truly exceptional one. Plus, did I mention what a great guy he is? Having lived abroad, being from the Midwest, and being college-educated, he's a joy to talk to. Suggestions: The place could use a makeover. The once "cool" graphic (kind of wallpaper) flooding the wall is dated, and the bathroom needs a remodel. Nonetheless, JBG remains my go-to. Check it out!

Why I Stick With Mark at Jimmy's?…read more Jimmy's Barber Garage in Midtown has been my go-to spot for haircuts since I first moved to Sacramento. My guy is Mark, and honestly, he's the reason I keep coming back. I wandered off to try another place for a while, but ended up returning here for a good reason--he just gets it. The vibe is casual, the price is right, and the service is solid. Mark is especially great for guys like me with thinning hair--he knows how to work with it, makes you feel comfortable, and always leaves me walking out more confident than I walked in. Now, the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5: the booking system. They only open up appointments 3 days ahead. For someone who likes to plan in advance (or suddenly needs a quick cleanup before an event), it can be tricky--especially since I only want to book with Mark. Sure, if you don't mind who cuts your hair, you can usually get in quick because there are multiple barbers available. But for me, it's Mark or nothing. One cool touch: they'll offer you a beer if you ask. The place itself looks like an auto garage, but don't be fooled--the service is way sharper than the décor suggests. If you're looking for a solid cut, especially if you want someone who knows how to handle thinning hair, ask for Mark. Closing Note: Midtown has plenty of barbershops, but Jimmy's (and especially Mark) makes it worth the return trip every time. #HaircutDoneRight #Jimmy'sGarage

Depression and a deep level of social anxiety had silenced the part of me that once took joy in the art of self-care and self-expression. Caring for my appearance felt too self indulgent, even pointless. Because of this, my hair has sat neglected, mullet-shaped, and directionless and quickly became a symbol of how disconnected I'd become from myself. I didn't know what I wanted when I sat in her chair because I hadn't felt allowed to want anything in a long time. But, Audrey met me there--with some compassion, a lot of patience, and a level of attentiveness I didn't know barbers actually gave without being a lifetime client. She asked about my history with my hair, how I've felt in it, when I've felt most like myself with it. She actually listened like it mattered. And somehow, from my fumbling socially awkward quiet answers, she miraculously shaped something that felt not just flattering, but also true to me. The cut was perfect, but it was more than that. It was the first moment in a long time where I felt seen and gently reintroduced to myself. Audrey didn't just restore my hair today, she helped restore a sense of agency I thought I'd lost. She's not just a barber. She's an artist, a guide, and for me, a quiet turning point. I'll be back--and if you're searching for more than a cut, you should go, too.

Aly has made several suggestions to my cut that I've adapted, which I really appreciate about her. In terms of vibe, it's a pretty standard set up. Bunch of seats. Doesn't lean into the upscale or modern aesthetic, but not that cookie cutter feel by any means. Very eclectic on the inside. Definitely appeals to early 90s kid and to no surprise given that the average barber seems to be in the 30s to early 40s. They always have a throwback movie or show playing, or baseball.
