We walked into barber bobs shop not knowing what to expect. When we walked in we met a true master of hair cuts, we gave him a challenge and he accepted it. While we sat in a very comfortable waiting room we were taken aback at how efficiently he faded my freind up. After the haircut we left and I realized I had left my my shorts and wallet behind. NOT SAFE. Barber bob cut my boyfriend's hair and informed him mid cut that he had gone under brain surgery recently, which is against state board law to work while medically unfit. He literally destroyed my boyfriend's hair to the point we had to shave him skin bald to "fix" what barber Bob did to him. He also shaved my boyfriend's eyebrow as well. I am a licensed professional in this industry and also do hair, and I'm shocked. This is worse than what a barber student's first haircut would look like. Do not go to this man - he should not be working. Let alone allowed to have a license. I understand he is a very nice man, but the fact that he charged my boyfriend and let him leave like that ...let alone is cutting people in unsafe conditions such as post brain surgery ...is unacceptable and something I would never do as a professional. read more

I asked for a comb-back style, confirmed length etc., then he ran his clippers over the top of my head and I ended up with a buzz cut. Worst haircut in my 74 years. It will be at least 6 months before it is even close to combing length. Avoid this guy no matter what you have to pay somewhere else. Simply put it's the worst haircut I've ever received. Also, the only haircut I've got where the barber had to take a bathroom break in the middle of what was only a 15 minute cut anyway. I could tell half way through it wasn't what I asked for but it was too far gone to fix so I didn't say anything hoping he had a plan and whatever haircut he was choosing for me would at least turn out ok. Now I know I should have kept my mouth shut but at the end I gave a simple "it's a little short but it'll work, thank you". And to top it off he didn't ask what I meant or if he could fix anything, he just said " better too short than anything else because it'll fix itself." Inexpensive place for a person to get a haircut at $20 (use to be $15). The problem is the senior aged owner that runs the joint decides when he's had enough work on any given day and closes up shop early despite the operations hours on the door. My hubby use to go to this man regularly, but found the door closed more times then open. So, he started calling ahead and he'd confirm that shop would be open until 4PM and when he got in the 3PM hour - it has been closed. I mean for god sake the owner knew someone was coming and he closed anyway. He's done this to my husband at least 3 times in the past and enough is enough. Owner is unprofessional, unreliable and it's just rude too when someone drives out of their way just to get a quick cut and find the door closed with no note or explanation why the shop was closed. Would suggest going elsewhere unless you don't mind stopping by with no expectation of owner actually following his own operating hours on the door. If he's ready to retire, he should just do it and sell the shop to someone younger that wants to run the place as a business and cares about his or her customers. read more

Gonna keep it to the point. This was the worst haircut I've ever received. I showed a series of reference photos prior to and described what I wanted done. I ended up with a faux hawk. I'm not convinced this barber is licensed, and I'm pretty sure the haircuts he knows how to perform are limited to a fewer number than the ones allowed in North Korea. Generally the vibe of the establishment was fine; lots of guns n' ammo posters, which is ironic considering we were told pretty quickly he's not allowed to own them anymore. The other barbers may not do walk-ins; but please take your time to schedule and wait for the decent ones. This was the worst haircut I've ever had. read more

Went here a week ago and had a very uncomfortable experience. The barber seemed to INTENTIONALLY shave my eyebrow and didn't even mention it to me. After telling him that I was from Portland, he ranted about how awful the riots over the killing of George Floyd are and how much he disagreed with Black Lives Matter (Mind you this entire barber shop is decorated in Ammo signs, American flags, and Harley Davidson). I told him that I agreed with the protests and ignored him passively. Right after that convo I felt a part of my eyebrow get shaved off and didn't say anything because I thought I was tripping. The rest of the haircut was very awkward and after he was done the barber laughed at me. When I went back to the car I instantly noticed part of my eyebrow was shaved off. The haircut was surprisingly good but NOT worth getting your eyebrow shaved off. Super sad that a barber would do something like this. This place comes off as very culty and would not recommend going here unless you are a white christian. read more

Was in Seaside for a few days on vacation and feeling shaggy. Found Bob's via Google maps and dropped by. I got there soon after he opened so didn't have to wait. I told him my wife usually cuts my hair using a #1 blade. He suggested the next up as a #1 in his kit would be close to a shave. And right he was, cut turned out great. He trimmed all the usual areas. Nice shop with a large waiting area and coffee. read more

Cost: $15 and as the posted sign says " In G-d we trust. All others pay cash!" I am visiting Seaside for a family event and am in need of a haircut. Bob's is the closest so I head over. I was in for a bit of a wait as there is only one chair but I suspect it was just bad timing. The place is small but not cramped. It is good for families as there are no "gentleman's magazines" strewn about. This shop is bright, clean and the walls are filled with funny signs and snarky sayings. Bob, is a large man with a grey beard and a broad smile. He clearly loves Harley's, is an avid biker, and is also a pastor. Interesting guy. When it was my turn I hopped on the chair and told him to use the #2 clipper. He hesitated for a moment so I asked him if he had a recommendation. He told me to keep it short on the bottom but a little longer on top, that it would have more shape to it. Well...he was right. I wanted a shave too but Bob said it was too much trouble with all the sanitation rules. But I was really looking forward to a barbershop shave - that is the only thing keeping this place from 5 stars for me. I've been going to Bob's since 2007 and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Bob was "the barber" in Seaside when the only thing around were beauty shops. You've got to trust someone that takes a leap and opens a shop and intends to be there till he's unable to hold clippers.
