If you dont accidently bump your head on the classic barbers pole you might walk right past this little shop on 11th. I made my appointment online; Kellys' self-bio sounded just right, made an appt for same day. Walking in, wasnt sure which barber/stylist was Kelly; so I just had a seat. I was asked 'do you want a beer?' by the one that turned out to be NOT Kelly, deciding to maintain my 6 yr sobriety I politely declined. The shop is delightfully decorated with art and novelty kitsch. Eventually, Kelly yelled my name, and I got to have a seat in one of their super old antique barbers chairs. Kelly did a great job assessing my vaguely stated needs :) Good conversation, did a very nice senior cut for me, wife was impressed, so yes, I recommend and will be back! read more

So very happy! I've driven to my hair stylist 3+ hours away since moving here over 6 years ago. I've tried many local salons. Bad! I was referred to 11th street and I'm not going anywhere else again! Absolutely fantastic! read more

I was visiting Astoria for my birthday and walked past Eleventh Street Barber and walked in to make an appointment for the next morning. Joelle gave me a fantastic haircut (I have thin hair with weird cowlicks). I couldn't be happier. It was a great value, especially considering the attention to detail. The vibe was friendly and welcoming and the conversation was fun. I'll be going back when I visit Astoria. read more

I'm pretty particular in regards to the quality of my haircut and was a bit nervous never having a cut here, but was pleasantly impressed by the cut. THEY ARE GOOOOOOOD!!! read more

This place has become my go-to spot in town for a hair cut. The service here is just welcoming and awesome. It's never crowded when I go in there, though I recommend making an appointment online anyway. I have medium long curly hair and Eleventh Street Barber has hooked me up with, and maintained one of the coolest mullets in Clatsop County. Nice place to kick back and talk while you get a fade or whatever. I'd trust Kelly to cut literally anybody's hair, she's that cool. read more

No matter who cuts your hair you're getting a top notch haircut. Fades are always on point and cutting my tricky cowlick in the front of my hair is always taken with consideration. Good conversation/quiet time when it calls for it. Can't imagine drinking a beer during this though but to each their own. read more

We've been coming to 11th Street Barber since It opened. Sarah is amazing. I'll be honest - while there are plenty of queer friendly places on the coast now - it wasn't always the case. Finding someone to cut my wife's hair has been a nightmare. From the start Sarah and her barbers have been friendly, haven't given us a dirty look when my wife has come in for a short cut and the cut has been perfect! Now we don't have to time our visits home in between cuts because we know 11th Street Barber is warm and welcoming! Oh and they have excellent Covid safety measures in place! I can't say enough good things about this place, Sarah and her team! read more

This place came highly recommend by multiple friends, so we had to check it out! Had been looking for 'thee' spot to take little man to get his first hair cut, and we definitely found it! Sarah did an amazing job. Friendly, professional, and came in clutch with a sucker to keep little man occupied those last couple minutes! People complaining about price and wait time; you get what you pay for! Will definitely be back. read more

My boys (ages 6 and 3.5) have experienced their fair share of haircuts: grandma (who was a professional stylist), auntie (a professional stylist), and my local stylist. Haircuts were always a little stressful and not enjoyable for either boys, one of whom is autistic. We decided to try out Eleventh Street Barbers and Jack put both boys immediately at ease- playfully explaining to them the tools he was using, having them "help" by turning on clippers, etc. While both boys know to sit still and follow instructions when in the chair, you could tell they were actually enjoying themselves and were so proud of their haircuts when Jack was done. Both their haircuts looked amazing, and we've found our go-to place when they both need a cut or trim. Thanks, Jack! read more

Since discovering this place I won't get my hair cut anywhere else. The barbers are extremely professional and personable. The vibes are 10/10. read more

Be very careful who you let cut you here. Definitely some talented barbers here. Others can barely see. God bless Kelly salvaging what she could for me, but It's gonna take me a while to undo the hack job that was done to me. I'm devastated. read more

It took me three bad haircuts and one self-imposed wiffle to find this place after I moved from the East Coast, but boy am I glad I found it! The Eleventh Street Barber is an olde tyme barber shop, it's walls adorned with classic records, Big Lebowski artwork and clever trinkets. Lupe is a skilled and gifted craftsman, who recently moved here from Bend. He does a commendable fade job, and without the assistance of attachments. I walked outta that place lookin' like Ralph Fiennes from Schindler's List. (Yeah, that's right.) Nobody would even hire me in this city until I got this haircut. It was the type of haircut that can make things happen for a man. The kind of haircut that demands respect and compliance. We also bring our son here to get his mohawk done and they bang it out in no time flat. Every other barber in Astoria just wobbles anxiously and repeatedly displays an overwhelming air of uncertainty, which often ends up with an off-kilter, crooked cut. But at the Eleventh Street Barber, they do what they gotta do to get things done, and they don't make a big deal out of it, either. They just do it. And they do it well. If you ask nice, they'll finish you off with a little splash of Bay Rum to the neck. Tell 'em the Clubman sent'cha. read more

Yah! I am a fan. Swung in on my lunch break and received an excellent hair cut. 15 bucks for haircut that far from the usual assembly line barber haircut. She even used a straight edged razor on my neck. I have never paid so little for such a quality job. In addition the space is welcoming and hip without feeling like Hawthorne St. in Portland threw up all over the place. Finally the barber could tell that I was not into much for conversation and didn't talk my ears off. I really appreciate that and will definitely be back. read more

I needed a haircut and it was pretty hard to find a barber along the coast until I got to Astoria OR. The venue is super cool looking one. Vinyls, pictures and brick used as legs for almost anything that is on the floor. Upon walking in I was greeted instantly. After few minutes, since both barbers were busy I was offered a beer which was/is their way of killing the time while waiting. That's amazing if this place was in different spot in bigger town, I assume lines would be insane. I forgot gentlemen's name but he was very professional and very attentive and good in communication and keeping the whole time while I was seated in a very good level of conversation. I paid 15$ plus 5$ as a tip. I think is worth the wait, doesn't matter if you drink or not. You can drink while you get your haircut if you would like too! read more

Great shop, great vibe, prices are reasonable, and the haircuts are excellent. I only have three complaints: 1. The wait is atrocious no matter when you come really. I'd love to see them have 3 chairs open most times because I hate having to block out an hour and a half for a haircut. I've shown up right when they open and there are 4 people waiting. I've shown up at 4pm and there's the same. But there isn't another place in town that can touch their quality so I make do. 2. Don't accept credit cards. This isn't abnormal in barber shops because cash transactions don't leave a paper trail of what a barber actually makes, and it doesn't cost the shop money in fees. 3. They don't take reservations. That's it. If you come, plan to wait. Enjoy your time there, grab a beer, and have some conversations with the barbers and the folks waiting alongside you. read more

Jimmy did such an amazing job with my one year olds first hair cut. He was patient, quick, kind, safe, thoughtful. So grateful for a great looking haircut! read more

Great barber shop! The atmosphere is amazing and the barbers are even better. I moved away for a couple years and this was one of my first stops when I got back to town. Always worth the wait. Please be friendly and respect the shop, they deserve it!! read more

I've been on the road for a couple weeks and this was everything I needed and that you'd expect from a barbershop. Great haircut with attention to detail on my beard. Nice conversation and friendly barbers as well as locals. Jack made me look as good as it's gonna get! read more

Great place. Something I like is the friendly service and a really good cut. If in the mood they also offer a beer while you wait. Cash only, and a typical men's cut is about $25. Usually we have to wait 15-20 min, but I feel it is worth it. read more

After many months of no hair cut I decided it was time. I saw the great reviews and awards so I made an appointment online. I booked with Kelly. She did a great job whipping my hair back into shape. We talked two scars on my scalp that I wanted to stay hidden. I'm very happy and impressed how tight she got the cut while still camouflaging those scares. Excellent cut. Fun conversation. I'll return to Kelly for my future cuts. read more

Hey, time is money. I was told a 1 hour wait and it was two hours later out the door. This was when I checked in 10 minutes after opening! The cut was alright. I have been maybe 4 times before. I can see a two hour wait on a Saturday, in fact that was the case the time before. There seems to be a turnover issue right now, last visit 4 stylists for 6 chairs (I think that's right.) I really just get a haircut with clippers, nothing special and the price is right. The benches are just that; benches are not intended to be comfortable-- a shelf for humans. Yes, atmosphere is great, but it would be nicer with nicer seating and a shorter wait. When I was in another salon for a pedicure, I complained about the 2 hour wait and a stylist there told me that her son waited 3 hours. Sorry, Sarah Jane, a haircut is not a concert, it's not waiting for a movie everyone wants to see. And I would like to like this place. I did not notice the other guys reading, except for the guy next to me looking at my magazine. Of course it was the Economist; being from here maybe the guy had never seen a copy before. Okay, barbershops are not great places to hang out, that why people who have things to do do not go to ones with absurd wait times! Sorry, I am finding things to do. People in Astoria like to sit around and do nothing, I guess. Though I thought they did this at Blue Scorcher... coffee's better! read more

Dropped in to have Lupe work his flat top magic, but he wasn't there. He has a female partner working w/him, and she told me she gives a mean flat top. Well, I'm happy to report that she did a wonderful job. It's really good to know that I have 2 options for getting my hair cut. read more

They give great haircuts and beard trims however the wait is ridiculous. Don't plan for anything afterward. We've been waiting for an hour and 45 minutes and my husband just got in the chair. read more

The best Dam barbershop west of Seville Spain! You ever notice how hard it is to find a barber in Seville? Sarah who is most Likely the only Vidal Sassoon trained barber in existence and also the proprietor of this chilaxian shop has some serious skills! Kelly is dope, Hands down da best. I can finally not stress out anymore about my haircuts. read more

I've been coming here for about a year and haven't gotten and bad cut yet. It seems a little pricey but every barber in town costs the same - the difference here is that you'll get free beer while you wait and the cleanest fade. The wait times are getting longer it seems but that just tells you how in demand this place is. Music is generally good as well and the atmosphere. read more

This is why the "old school" barber shops are the best. This shop epitomizes the standard by which all other barber shops in this class should strive to achieve. I was passing through on my way to Long Beach, Wa for a weekend get away. Stopped off to have lunch in Astoria at one of the many amazing brew pubs in town (that's for a different review!). On a lark I checked to see if there were any decent barber shops in town that knew how to trim a beard, properly. I found fantastic feedback for this shop with the given caveat that they are usually very busy and there is often a wait, but it is worth it. Given that it was a Thursday I took a chance. I found the shop in no time and put my name on the waiting list. They were busy but it was not a long list. I could have a complimentary beer from the fridge while I was waiting. Nice. In a few minutes my name was called and my barber, Jack, took me into his care. Asked what I wanted, how I liked the shape of my beard, etc. Went to work as if he was carving a masterpiece of topiary on my face. This was no quick 1,2,3 trim literally by the numbers. He spent as much time trimming my beard as some barbers might just doing a hair cut. In the process he did a light trimming of my hair and sideburns. Also, went the extra mile with a straight edge shave of my neck, front and back (warm shave cream...gotta love it). In the process noted that I was doing a good job of conditioning my beard which he often didn't see done by others. Gave some advice on how I should trim my beard when doing it myself around the chin and complimented me on the luck of having a beard pattern (gray, white, red) that luckily was symmetrical in appearance. Finished it off with some Bay Rum after shave on my neck that brought back fond memories of my grandfather. Good stuff. The fee charged? Given the amount of time, care and skill he quoted the standard base fee! A pittance for what he had done in my opinion. I tipped an additional $5 because it was more than worth that amount. I don't live in Astoria. I wish I did because this would be my barbershop. I would be here at least once a month, maybe twice, religiously, if this shop was where I live (Yakima). Will I go back? Yes! Would I drive out of my way to this shop while on the way somewhere else on the Washington / Oregon Coasts just to get a hair / beard cut? Yes. I highly recommend Jack but from what I saw during my brief time in the shop every barber there is a pro and has their respective followers. You cannot go wrong. Go there. Now. read more

My husband needed a cut and bread trim and we found this place. He is particular about his pompadour and 'stache he was not disappointed. An old school barber shop, they have straight edge razors so he got a very clean cut. read more

Chopped all my hair off here while on vacation. Go visit Astoria and give this barbershop your business.

When I walked in I was greeted by a sign. Only one barber on duty. One customer in the chair, and one ahead of me. I waited an hour. Shannon takes her time, and does a superb job. I got a #2 military cut. Razored around ears, and neck. Very reasonable too. Regular cut $17.00 seniors/Military $14.00 Worth the wait! Highly recommend! read more

Now my "go-to" barber shop. I've given them a couple of tries and have been super pleased every time. Excellent haircut, great atmosphere, friendly people, and even.....beer! I grew up in a small town where the barber shop was where folks got haircuts and spun yarns. This place is a lot like that. Customers chatting with the barbers, folks who are waiting chiming in on the conversations, a few jokes perhaps, this feels like home. Reasonably priced and even a nice discount for active and retired military. Doesn't apply to me but so glad it applies to them. Sarah cuts my hair but I've seen the work the other barbers turn out and everyone leaves looking great! read more

I had no wait midday Wednesday. Price was just fine. The woman who cut my hair was super friendly, but not annoyingly chatty, and overall ambiance was what I was looking for. The cut compares very favorably with my favorite barber in Portland. I moved here a year ago and because I am so picky about barbers, I kept going to my old shop when I was back in the city. That won't be happening anymore - I found my replacement! read more

The haircut and shave was ok. But 50 bucks was insane. I travel all over the country and the most I've ever paid was 45 from a beard master in Vegas at Venetian and I'll tell you that was way more worth it. read more

Upon arrival I was told it would be a 2.5 hour wait. When telling the barber I would get lunch and come back I was told they could not hold my place in line. I would have to sit on their wooden chairs for 2.5 hours and not leave the salon or they would put me last in line. Nobody allowed to leave! Something is seriously wrong with this joint. read more

This is our regular go-to, but....when you're going to be closer on a day you're normally open, it'd be great to put this info on the website. Coming in from out of town to find a sign on the door kinda sucks. I'll try again next week. :( read more

After reading other reviews, I decided to give this place a try while visiting in Astoria. I have been accustomed to the mediocre haircuts from the large chainstore establishments. This was the first real old-time haircut I've had in years. Even down to the straight razor trim on the neck. The only downside... be prepared to wait. This isn't a high production establishment.... expect a haircut where they will take their time to get it right. Oh, and they only take cash or checks. And a discount for military and vets. Highly recommended!! read more

The barbers are fantastic here! It's very friendly, I got my hair cut quickly and it was less expensive than Portland. I have been in a few times now and it's my go to at the coast. Highly recommended and lovely place to get trimmed up. Also the good vibes are real in there. It's refreshing to find a business that cares this much about their customers these days. The owner is also awesome and totally not a robot which I feel is rare these days. So many robots out there! read more

First time thru the door. Interesting. Not your normal haircut shop. Seem to be genuinely interested in you. Caught me off guard when they offered me a beer.
