Met a girlfriend for a quick bite and coffee - cute interior, nice menu, delish pastries. Would definitely try their chocolate croissant!

Definitely have to come back to try some of their teas!

Ever since Love Beans closed, my daughter and I have been searching for the perfect coffee shop for our coffee dates when she comes down to visit. I have a list of places to try, and this weekend we chose Barbarossa Coffee in Tomball off FM 2920. I live just off Kuykendahl so this one of the one on Gosling were about the same distance. I can't say anything about the shop on Gosling, as I haven't been, but I am so happy we chose the on in Tomball. First of all, and maybe most importantly, the baristas, Morgan and Julie, were amazing! I always like to ask for recommendations because each coffee shop does things differently. I started to order the chai, because that is my usual go-to. But they had overheard me talking about how I don't like my drinks to be too sweet. So they asked me some questions about my taste preferences and then suggested something I would normally not have even looked at. And it was PERFECT. *Hot pistachio latte sweetened with a little bit of honey in case anyone is wondering :)* We also got a warmed up blueberry scone - delicious- that was quickly devoured! I love the ambience, here. Its not huge by any means- but much more room than many coffee shops. There is a couch area, bar table seating and dining tables - which is where we spent well over an hour playing card games and laughing and generally just having a really good time. I know I need to visit the other coffee shops on my list. But I have no doubt that I will be back here.

Barbarossa Coffee Roasters in Tomball completely nails the local coffee shop vibe, offering a warm, cozy, and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and stay for hours.Their incredibly fresh, in-house roasted coffee, the absolute star of the menu is their phenomenal homemade cheesecake, which melts in your mouth and pairs perfectly with any of their specialty lattes. Whether you need a quiet corner to knock out some remote work or a comfortable spot to catch up with friends over a world-class dessert, this place is flawless. With fantastic service and an unbeatable ambiance, Barbarossa is an absolute must-visit!

I have been coming to Barbarossa for years now because they have the best coffee in Houston. The workers are always so nice, and I love the decorations inside! Food is also always been amazing. Highly recommend the captains latte.

Such a cute coffee shop that's down the street from our house and cozy vibes. All of the baked treats are calling out to you from the glass display and look scrumptious as well. The barista was sweet while we scanned the menu to decide what to order and she was really fast at making our drinks. My husband had the blueberry muffin and it was devoured almost immediately. Definitely a cute place to bring your laptop and get some work done. But plan accordingly because there's limited wall outlets from what I can tell.

Their pistachio cold brew is absolutely delicious! I love that they have pork alternative breakfast sandwiches so I'm not just eating an egg & cheese sandwich. Their croissants are so soft & buttery. The place is very quiet but there's plenty of seating.

Barbarossa is officially my new go to spot in Spring. The ambiance hits right away with those hunter green chairs and a clean, relaxed vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. I tried the cinnamon roll, the spinach and cheese pastry, and the snickerdoodle latte. Every single thing was on point. The cinnamon roll was soft and warm, the pastry had great flavor, and the latte was smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. Service was solid and the place just feels good to be in. If you want quality coffee and a place that looks great without trying too hard, this is it. Five stars

I have been looking forward to trying this coffee spot out and when errands took me to this side of town, I was excited to stop in. In all fairness, I didn't try any of the pastries that look delicious, but I did get the turkey sandwich. For $10 you get two slices of white bread, a slice of deli turkey, a melted Kraft single, a tomato spread (?), and a few pieces of lettuce. If this was a max of $6, I'd let it slide, but $10 in this market... give a real piece of cheese and a little bit more turkey.

Was in the area and needed some afternoon caffeine. Barbarossa popped up as my nearest option. It has a drive thru option and I was greeted by a friendly staff. She answered all my silly questions ( I was having FOMO and wanted to try everything) I settled for the snickerdoodle latte and San Sebastián cheesecake. OMG - I will now be traveling out of my way for the cheesecake. And the coffee was good too! I love this latest discovery.

$20 and 57 mins later... I'm a big fan of Barbarossa, but I'm extremely disappointed with how my coffee order was delivered through Uber Eats. There was no secure cover on the lid, my iced coffee was wide open when it arrived. When the driver handed it to me, his thumb was on the mouthpiece. When I called the store, the employee told me they had run out of secure tops. That's a serious food safety issue. If proper packaging isn't available, Barbarossa should temporarily disable delivery through Uber Eats. Sending out uncovered drinks is unacceptable and puts customers at risk. I expected better.

I like supporting local coffee roasters, small, quirky coffee shops and Barbarossa Coffee falls into this category. This is the second location I have visited which the service is consistently pleasant and the food options tasty. I wanted to try a different coffee option this time but the Pistachio Latte called my name yet again. If you look at their menu and see a small red coffee cup beside an item that means it is a local favorite. Last time, I left with a packet of Oasis whole bean, Medium Dark Roast with a mix of Blueberry-Almond-Chocolate notes and went straight to get my grind on. The flavor profile was mellow for a dark roast with not acidic aftertaste. They have other roasted coffee options for your liking in addition to Masterclasses such as making coffee with a Chemex pour-over. If you are trying to study or work with your laptop/tablet I scouted three electrical outlets, one to either side of the high seating area facing the entrance and the other between the couch spaces on the right hand side once you enter.

Barbarossa has been on my list of coffee shops to try for a while, and I finally made it in over the weekend (Saturday 7/26/25 at 9:45AM). The inside has a nice/relaxing ambiance and aesthetically pleasing. The staff stated the other location is bigger, but still plenty of seating (inside or outside) here. The barista at the register really sold the experience! I totally forgot her name but she was personable with a warm personality and a huge sense of humor. Her customer service was exceptional. Also, I really love how descriptive their signage was and being able to learn about their roasting methods/sourcing. The drinks are SO good! My only disappointment is the breakfast taco. The menu (at least the one at the cash register inside) doesn't specify that it comes with guacamole, and the taco didn't really have any pico de gallo. I initially thought they forgot the pico because I didn't see any but the staff said it's mixed in I guess. As far as drinks, I ordered the Honey & Milk Tea Latte and the Strawberry Cream Matcha Latte. Drinks are 10/10, I'll definitely be back and would recommend Barbarossa!

Beignets are rare in this neighborhood, but I've had them at the Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. 35 years ago. Would these hold up? Absolutely. I came in at 2 in the afternoon, and they made the beignets fresh. Light, crisp and tasty, with plenty of powdered sugar (Cafe du Monde gave me a ridiculous amount, like a half a cup). The beignets were well coated and there was more than enough sugar to sweeten the coffee. Also plenty to get on my pants--beignets are messy things. The coffee was good, I would say the chicory was on the light side which might suit this area better. Also got a flat white which was just fine. The place is inviting inside. There are outlets at every table, encouraging you to stay awhile. The seating area up front where you'd wait for a to-go order is very comfortable. Lots of nice coffee-themed decor. There are two identical any-sex restrooms, so no gender-based waiting. They were clean and ready when I was there. Service is friendly. The only other place I've seen beignets in this neighborhood is Walk-Ons (those are good also). If you like beignets you need to try this place.

Wellll, my food and my wife's food came out and we finished our meals before our daughter even recd. her entree. This could be a very big issue, but Brittany explained what occurred. Did not disappoint, but not spectacular. Service was warm and friendly - Khrystian was such a joy, always smiling and helpful! Latte was strong and hot, just as I like it; hot chocolate too was on point, although the cold whipped cream on top tended to render it lukewarm. Food arrived promptly, and was decent. Rafaela's Chilaquiles and Pimento Cheesy Chorizo Tacos. In the former, Avocado slices had oxidized (Khrystian happily replaced them with unblemished ones), Nacho chips were soggy due to the salsa on which they were placed, and the requested scrambled eggs turned out more to be like an omelet. The latter (Pimento Tacos) tended to be a bit greasy. Very few pieces of onion and green pepper sprinkled on top, and the cheese could have been more ample; one tended to taste only the Chorizo, which got monotonous after a while. Overall a decent first visit; set us back $45, including a 20% tip - would like to try the lunch location in the same complex next time.

Let me explain... 1) we arrived prior to 10:30, but didn't get helped until after. When trying to order breakfast - we were rudely told that it was over. Fair enough - we were here though, and there was nothing displayed sharing that info nor the time. 2) for three kids and myself - it was nearly $80 and we didn't order the most expensive items. If I'm being honest - the food left much to be questioned. My sons asked for their burgers to be well done and came out medium at best. When my dessert came out (a slice of carrot cake), it toppled over on the plate and the server/host (a younger male) went to grab it with his bare hands. When I said please don't touch my food - he caught a bit of an attitude and huffed. 3) there was only one family there besides us and the dining area was far from clean. There were a couple of tables with dishes remaining on them (that were prime plane-viewing spots, but weren't available to use because of) no sense. As many times as I've been through Hooks - I'd not ever patronized Aviator's. So, as a first-time visitor, I expected more and better. Unfortunately, my children and I didn't experience what others have and as such - not sure we will return. I nor my kids didn't find it worth the cost of the meal - regardless of how cool or great the viewing experience was.
