Found ya Bud (and now there's now place to hide once the yelpers have at ya!)! Chances are no one…read morefrom your office will ever read this, but in case you do, here's some food for thought, re future decisions: Hire someone who doesn't have a family interest into one of the teams--this will always taint anything you do, like propping up the weak teams in the league, to levying "taxes" on those that have the ability to spend money to bring in talent. It ain't the 1880's any more. Move on! Take some responsibility for the drug crisis under your leadership, and admit that your office had working knowledge of the problem, but failed to act. At least we might start to listen to you, instead of hiding/avoiding the issue all these years. We all have eyes Bud, and we all saw the Olive Oils turn into Popeyes overnight. Get real!!! Let the economics of baseball rule the roost. If you have idiots who want to overspend on questionable talent, (See Orioles), let 'em. You don't have to prop up the weaker sisters in the league--not your job. If the league contracts due to natural competition, sobeit. That simply means there is not enough major league talent to go around any more....which brings me to my another sticking point: Get some marketing muscle out there, and start developing some interest in the game amongst the youths. I believe the last time two African-American starting pitchers squared off in the same game was Dontrelle Willis vs. Jerome Williams in 2005. Hell, as we move into 2008, D. Willis and CC Sabathia are the only African American starting pitchers left in the game. That's a disgrace, and you have to put resources not only into marketing the game but also developing baseball fields and instruction, especially in the inner cities. Not just a few sheckles--Big Money Bud! In 1975, African-Americans filled 27.5 percent of big-league roster spots. American-born black players accounted for 19 percent as recently as 1995. The numbers have been on the wane ever since, checking in at or below 15 percent in each of the past 10 seasons. Last year's 8.4 percent total represents less than half of the 17.25 percent of 1959, the first year every team was integrated. Bud, you've lost a generation of players--on your friggin' watch!! Get a backbone!!!! Where do I start? That All Star game tie that you personally called off because it was getting late and the teams were down to a handful of pitchers was a travesty. These are athletes who can bouce back--haven't you read your bball history? Hell, Spahn and Marichal hooked up in a 16 inning game (which you no doubt watched back in the 60's), and Spahn was over 40 at the time. What could have been a classic All Star game, turned the "midsummer classic" into yet another one of your gaffes. Just stinks of your typical waffling and weakness when it comes to decision making. Bud, not only is there no crying in baseball, there are no friggin' ties in baseball either! Players Strikes: OK, can't put all the blame on your here, but will heap 90% of it on you. I don't have the strength to go into it, but you represent the owners--'nuff said. Bud, you're really starting to piss me off. How about hiring someone who can actually manage the responsibilities of the Office, who does not have a material interest in it? You muz go!
