With the couch, coffee table and breakfast nook seating area it felt more like a little studio which suited us perfectly. Having already been on the road for several days and having stayed at B&Bs along the way we were so refreshed to have the option to have breakfast in our room rather than go downstairs and bravely make new friends at 8am. What a thoughtful touch. Breakfast was amazing on both mornings. The menu is presented to you in the evening and you can choose from several wonderful (and changing) options, as well as indicating if you would like to dine downstairs with your fellow travelers, or privately in your own room as we did. The pierogies breakfast was quite inventive, they were perfectly cooked with crispy edges and soft interiors, topped with a poached egg and served with bernaise sauce. Wow. Delicious! With 7 children you know going in that there will be some lively activity, but truly we barely heard them playing outside and such lovely friendly children too. The common area has a pool table, the back patio has a private sitting area for enjoying the rolling hills, and there's a side entrance to come and go as you please without having to come in the front door. Great Rooms. Delicious breakfast. Privacy. Community. Peace & quiet, this place has it all. If we are ever so fortunate as to return to this part of the country we will stay again. Highly recommend it!

Let me give it to you straight: if you are planning to vacation on Prince Edward Island (and you…read moreshould, especially you big city dwellers like me) a Bed and Breakfast is the way to go. A vacation experience here is a lot like one in Ireland; beautiful, green, pastoral, and friendly. Stay away from a hotel and let the locals take care of you! If you choose this route, I could not recommend Bonshaw Breezes more. Here's a breakdown of what I thought was great: 1. We stayed in the Mayflower suite, which is located in a two suite cottage that sits next to the main house. The room was clean and well decorated, with a comfortable bed. Although we didn't use it, there is a kitchen in this suite (I also happened to notice that it is FULLY stocked with kitchenware). The TV is a little smallish, but you aren't here to watch TV are you? It's a great room. I never saw the others so I can't comment on them. 2. The breakfasts were terrific. The hosts try to use local ingredients whenever possible, so not only is everything fresh, but you get to sample what the local produce and foods. The breakfasts were big enough that we needed no lunch. 3. The hosts, Dave and Sharon, are very friendly. I'm a bit curmudgeonly, but conversation comes very easily in this house. They clearly enjoy having many different people from all over sit at their table. And they are very helpful if you are trying to decide what to do or how to get there. 4. The house is in a great location in the hills. Beautiful grounds. So there you have it. Stay at Bonshaw Breezes. I loved it, I'm sure you will too.
