It was a true home away from home with a private entrance, kitchen (with stove, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer and all of the fixings) and living room. They gave us a couple of bags of chips and coffee as well. The apartment also included an assortment of games and beach towels we could use. I love that they are as eco-friendly as possible, with marked containers for recycling, housekeeping every 3 days, and refillable soap containers. They built a outdoor patio area which was prefect to relax and enjoy the sun before heading out to dinner. Our room was the Jacque Cartier room. Super comfortable queen size bed and linens. The bathroom has a shower claw foot tub. Dee and Chris are great innkeepers. The food here is delicious as well, with breakfast included with our stay. Selection of fresh fruit, yogurt, inn-baked scones, and two hot breakfast options. There also make French pressed coffee, which if you been around PEI, you know there are extremely limited good coffee options. Definitely staying on all our PEI visits.

Once we were settled we inquired about dining options and he marked them on a map of the area. In the morning the manager, Rod, was able to help us narrow down some places we could visit during our stay in Charlottetown and on our last morning he suggested a route for us to take getting to Cape Breton. He even told us to call the hotel if we had any issues in finding our way there. Our room was located on the top floor, same side as the front of the hotel. It was a decently sized room with a desk, tv, armchair and closet. The bathroom was a decent size but the shower stall was quite small and the water took a long time to warm up. Our on last morning we let the manager know that we enjoyed our stay but that the mattress was way too soft for our liking and he let us know that he's heard the same comment from other guests and that the mattress is actually new. In our section of the hotel there were a few rooms with a (small) common kitchen, dining table and a sitting area. Within the whole hotel there were a few common sitting areas both indoor and outdoors. By the front entrance there were coffee and ice machines along with filtered water. Breakfast was served in two dining rooms. There was all the makings of a continental breakfast (toast, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, cereal) and servers would come by periodically to take orders from their menu and remove plates. There was a selection of six items to choose from and most came with locally grown potatoes (omelette, scrambled eggs or tofu, eggs benedict, oatmeal, waffles). Portions aren't big but if it's not enough then it's easy to grab some toast or yogurt to go along with it.

It was large and roomy with nice kitchen and living room areas. The breakfasts were fresh and delicious and different each morning. When we booked, we did it as a package and also got books, passes to several attractions/museums and tickets to 2 musicals. The location was perfect. I originally found Suites of Euston on Expedia. Looking at…read morethe pictures, the 11 rooms within the historical building of Charlottetown appeared charming.  Since I wanted to support a local business rather than a big chain hotel, I made a reservation on Expedia's platform.  BIG MISTAKE !!! (Note that booking on Expedia does not automatically mean they are the ones collecting deposits; in my case, the full amount in advance.) The owner, Todd Munn, shamelessly charged me TWICE for my 5-night booking. I wanted to believe it was an honest mistake, but after texting Mr. Munn about it for 3 days, getting Expedia involved, and needing to escalate things to their fraud department, Mr. Munn remained in no hurry to return the money from the unauthorized charge. On top of this, I found some sketchy things about Suites of Euston listings as well as the owner. Lacking confidence in the accommodation, I wanted to cancel my reservation but Mr. Munn would not let Expedia do so because of the non-cancellation policy he put in place. Meanwhile, he would not give me instructions on how to access the property, even though the reservation stated to contact the accommodation in advance for it.  Mr. Munn kept saying Expedia would send instructions.  Even after Expedia requested Mr. Munn to provide the info, I did not receive it. Nine business days after receiving a message from Expedia stating Mr. Munn confirmed initiating the refund for the unauthorised charge on my credit card, I still had not received my $.  On top of that, I noticed the specific suite I booked (#1) was listed on Airbnb for some of the days I had a reservation for.  I flagged it of course. Expedia's response to my follow up was that Suites of Euston had 11 rooms (not understanding the major problem despite my proof), and that Mr. Munn had not given me the refund yet because he did not have my credit card information or phone number.  I later received a call (voice mail left) and a text from Mr. Munn, requesting my credit card number and expiry date. At this point, I had changed my CC number to ensure Mr. Munn would not be able to charge it again. My bank assured me it would not cause any issues with the refund process. I documented everything and my credit card company ended up crediting me both charges, deeming the whole thing as fraudulent. Needless to say, I did not want to step foot inside Suites of Euston.  Judging from the many low rating reviews I found after booking, it looks like I dodged a bullet.

Located in the centre of town, it's a good centre point for anyone planning on staying around the centre of the island. Summerside is 10 mins away, Cavendish is about 25 mins away, and Charlottetown is 56 mins away. The host, Herb, is by far the most welcoming host I've met at any B&B I have stayed at. It was the first floor of a home at the rear of the inn itself. It was modern and bright with a large living room area with office desk, a screened slider out to the rear private patio/flower garden, full sized kitchen, washer/dryer, king bedroom, large well appointed bathroom with lots of hot water. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Warm cookies were provided each afternoon, weekday receptions with free beer and wine and a great breakfast each morning served in the front lounge area of the main inn.
