I found Thayles as I find most places....by accident…read more It was late, and for Barcelona that's saying something, but I wasn't ready to turn in yet. Wandering back to my hotel Thayles appeared as a beacon of light in an otherwise shut down part of the city. So, I popped in for one last brew before bed. There is nothing special about Thayles and I guess that's exactly what made it special for me. This is a typical neighborhood Catalan bar designed not for tourists but for patrons who go by first names and enjoy spending quality time together. As a plus they do have a remarkable selection of Trappist Ales (I'm a sucker for them) and while the ambience is basic at least you're not paying for it. If it's late you'll find me here.
