We were so glad we had a chance to experience this! We were in transit overnight and just happened to be staying at the hotel next door. We didn't have a reservation but were told we can have a table for 1.5h. The staff was attentive and took our orders quickly. We had to spend some time studying the menu -- all the items sounded delicious! My friend was new to this type of cuisine but was open to try new things. We wanted room for desserts and so we decided on the beef tartare and the black baba. The tartare was DELICIOUS! Super flavorful and there was some spices mixed in. The meat tasted like they were aged a bit because of the meaty flavor without tasting gamey. The bread on the bottom with the meat provided a perfect mix of textures. We absolutely loved it. It looked small when it came in but it was quite filling in the end with the bread. The babaganosh was delightful as well! The octopus was grilled perfectly with a hint of smokiness and yet they're soft in the mouth. The babaganosh with the tomatoes matched perfectly. We were looking forward to trying the ice cream but was disappointed that they didn't have that available that day. But we ordered the pudding and I really enjoyed it. We appreciated the amount of time it must take to prepare that. The crushed pistachio on the top again made the otherwise typical dessert with extra layers of flavor with the mix of textures. I love the modern decor and this places seems very popular with the locals (very good-looking young locals :)) Judging by the "reservations required" from Google Maps. But I'd say if you're in the area you should just drop by to see if they could seat you. The food was definitely worth it. This was such an unexpected find that it closed out our trip very nicely! Thank you and highly recommended!

That said: there is a good reason for this secretiveness: 1) It's small and the atmosphere is private 2) The drinks are made with a great accuracy by masters of their art 3) It's for connaisseurs who worship good drinks The location is great for very small groups from 2 to 4. The atmosphere stimulates good conversations and at times you feel like a visionary from the 20s... Worth the experience!

Ambiance (4/5): You may have trouble finding this speakeasy if you don't do your research prior. It's located inside what looks like the entrance to an apartment. Walk in, press the buzzer, and the hostess will greet you. Once you get inside, it's dimly lit with old school charm. My only complaint. No A/C and uncomfortable chairs. Service (4/5): At a speakeasy, you expect elevated service. And it was good here. Our waiter answered our questions, made recommendations, and had a good sense of humor. When he was asked what a popular cocktail is in Germany, he said beer. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet, and I don't think they have food anyway. Drinks (4/5): They have a long list of craft cocktails which is a plus. What I look for at a speakeasy is creativity and an interesting blend of flavors. While some of the options on their menu are basic cocktails, there are some interesting ones, too. The one I had, while the name is escaping me, had a nice fruity and refreshing profile. One of the coolest bars I checked out in Frankfurt. Prost!
