In the heart of the Amalfi town center, this place looks like a display of artwork rather than a pastry shop. The presentations and beautifully made pastries were stunning. Making of a selection here is not easy, see the photos. I felt like a fat kid at an all-you-could-eat buffet. I'll also not a breakfast fan, today we make an exception! We ordered and sat out front with beautiful weather and a parade of the early morning Amalfi crowd. The raspberry pastry was light, airy, flaky and packed with buttery goodness. The almond cream croissant was decadent, flaky and one of the best pasteries we have ever had. If you are in Amalfi, wanting to people watch and enjoy sublime pastries, get to Pasticceria Pansa Andrea. This place looks like a scene from a high-end movie set. Treat yourself in Amalfi and relax at Pasticceria Pansa Andrea, you will feel like a million Euros! Great display, excellent ambiance and delicious treats, a triple threat.

Founded in 1830 by Andrea Pansa, the pastry shop has been family-run for generations. Today, it's especially known for its traditional Amalfi pastries and sweets, including the popular delizia al limone, made with the region's famous lemons. It's a little piece of Amalfi history that you can actually taste. We had a bit of time before our ferry, so I made a quick pit stop here. Luckily, I read a few reviews beforehand and knew the process: order and pay at the register, then take your receipt to the counter to pick up your food. I happened to visit during an off time, so there were only a few people inside. I quickly browsed the beautiful pastry display, jotted down the names of what I wanted, and was able to order easily despite my very limited Italian. I was in and out in probably five minutes. Everyone was friendly and helpful, unlike some of the other reviews I've read. They packed my goodies in a beautiful little box, and I took everything with me to enjoy with my family later that evening. Of course, I had to get the delizia al limone -- a must in Amalfi! I grabbed a few other pastries too, a pan di Amalfi and a ricotta e pere. Everything was delicious and thankfully, not overly sweet. It was also fairly priced (I'm from Hawaii where everything is expensive so...) and for the quality, well worth it. Overall, I'm glad I made the quick stop. The pastries were delicious, the experience was great, and getting to taste a little piece of Amalfi's history made it even sweeter. Definitely visit if you're in town!

Praise for their delicious melon sorbet made with real melon!…read more After lunch I was craving a little something sweet and Collina looked swarming with customers on a warm spring afternoon, so I peeked in. The cafe is very small, with a counter inside the left entrance for gelato and sorbetto, a larger counter and display case of pastries along the wall inside the right entrance. Seems to be a handful of seats upstairs accessible by a narrow staircase though they looked to be cordoned off that moment. Gelato prices ranged from €3 for a small, single flavor to €5 for medium, €8 for large, €12 for maxi which I'm not quite sure how many scoops that was. The prices were the most reasonable that I saw along the Amalfi Coast in a few towns. After checking out the flavor selection I decided to go with a light sorbetto in melon and it was yummy! It tasted like if really ripe cantaloupe were made into a super smooth smoothie lol. They carried the popular sorbetto al limone (lemon sorbet in a lemon) for €10 too, though in general I heard mixed reviews about this item being overpriced. They offer a bunch of lunch-suitable menu items like simple paninis, pasta, salads and burgers; also some cocktails for €12-13-including an enticing Positano Spritz concocted of prosecco, limoncello, soda, fresh lemon zest. Pastries looked good too though the weather was a little warm for more sweets--their tiramisu cups, cookies, mini tarts and eclairs all looked like solid choices if you're in the mood.

It was pricey at €10, but the sorbet was refreshing and nice on a hot day. They also have a good selection of regular gelato, pastries and drinks too if you want something more reasonable. Sal de Riso commands a position on the main drag and is centrally located in the city. The display of artistic sweet treats look like museum pieces for the dessert world. Dining here for sweet treats is a staple in the quaint town of Minori. The display case is an art exhibit for "beautiful" food creations. It is almost sacrilegious to devour the artwork / treats. We left enough room after dinner to stop here and give them a try. Making a decision here is not easy. We selected the lemon cake with an ethereal regional following. It was delicious, not overly sweet and a mouth punch of lemony flavor. For the lemon lover, this is a must try. The three level chocolate tort was equally tasty and done very well. Don't over-eat and save room for the sinful deserts at Sal de Risa in Minori. If you are next door in Amalfi or Positano, hop the ferry for a nice, quiet and relaxing evening in the quaint neighboring town of Minori. It was be a welcomed relief to the crowded and bustling environment of the coast, especially in the summer.

Quick dessert stop on a trip to Pompeii; Everything was quite decent!…read more Pastiera was unbelievable! Really soft and fresh and had the perfect amount of sweetness and that hint of lemon coming through. Such a good dessert. I could totally have another slice! Crostata al cioffolato - chocolate flavor was nice but the pastry was a little too dry so overall this item wasn't as nice. Affogato - quite a large amount of coffee and the gelato felt a little too less. So the espresso flavor came through very strong. Love the presentation for this though! Passion fruit gelato - had a little tanginess to it (not properly sweet) but I actually quite enjoyed it! Kinder gelato was probably the favorite among the other gelato flavors fried. Dad and brother both ordered this! They had a lot of cakes on display that looked extremely delicious and tempting as well!
