Unfortunately I brought friends to Bar One and did not realize the deterioration that had taken place since my last visit. There were maybe 4 cocktails on the menu and the drinks were just not good. The food came out and I was sad to see the Bar One fries had something that looked like mayo and garlic cloves instead of their usually delicious sauce. I used to dream about their aioli and this is not it! It's a neat bar, we love the space and the server was very nice but I was seriously disappointed in the food and drinks. Love this place. Dropped in after my last leg of the wapac trail and it had a great chill vibe with wood, plants, and a cheerful tender behind the bar. Started with a perfectly made hot and dirty martini and had loads of items I wanted to try. I ended up with the fish tacos and they were way above your average run of the mill. Fresh fresh fresh with a nice slaw type topping and a hint of cilantro. Delish and there were three big ones, perfect for sharing but I was up to the task Looking over the drink menu they were well curated and I had a hot pickle martini thing that was again perfect. My fiance and I have been wanting to try out this place for ages! We finally stopped by one night when we were in the mood to take a ride after work. I had read reviews online about some interesting dishes they offered and we were looking forward to trying them out. Inside the ambiance is nice. It's dark, as many bars are but it also had a historical but trendy vibe inside. When we were seated we were told to look at the menus online using a QR code. This practice became understandably popular during COVID but most restaurants have since done away with it and I wish Bar One had as well. I dislike having to peruse through a menu on the small screen of my phone. It was also disappointing to discover that the menu was very limited. I don't know if it was the day of the week we visited or if it's just what their menu has evolved into over time but we were pretty limited to a couple of burgers and some wings for meal options. We chose to split an order of wings (which were tasty) and left right afterwards so we could go somewhere else to get some actual dinner. All in all, it's a cool place to go for drinks but if you're looking for a place to stop for dinner you may want to choose somewhere else if you would like options. read more

It was our first visit to Bar One in Milford, NH. Off the oval is this hole in the wall bar/restaurant. We started out with drinks. Yukon Mule for my husband and a Palomita for me. Both drinks were some of the best drinks we have ever had. Next we had an appetizer of Bar One Fries, crispy fries with wonderful seasoning. For our main course my yuans had the Fried Chicken Sandwich and I had Noodz. We both really enjoyed our meals, they were flavorful and well made. The service was prompt and friendly. One of the few places that open late in the area with decent food! To our surprise, the spicy chicken, the duck wrap, and bar one fries (truffle with a lemon zest!). The food was very delicious. Things came out on time and big servings! The chicken sandwich was served with slaw and man it was good. Wasn't too sure about the slaw, but it was popping. And the duck wrap... we really enjoyed it. They were generous with the duck. Very rich in flavor! The fries, never had it with truffle and lemon, but it was a big plate and I ate the whole thing. Team #NoRagrets The service was great. I wish I could give Bar One 5 stars. Everything we ordered was delicious from drinks to apps to entrees. Disappointed in the variety of the menu. We went a few times a couple of years ago and I remember they had an awesome drink menu as well as food menu- it had multiple options. For drinks there was only a couple options listed on the menu and same with food. Different types of fries, Mac and cheese, chicken. Entree options lacked. Definitely changed since the last time we were there. I hope they can work on this! read more

They have a decent amount of draft beers and a surprisingly varied food menu. You'll see duck on there more than once, which is totally awesome to see. - The feel of the place has that awesome local pub feel. Very popular, can get loud. But it absolutely has that "this is the place to be here in Milford" vibe going on. - I had Guinness, the hush puppies, loaded nachos and the fries with gravy. All of it was amazing! Loved my drink...forget the name honestly. First one on their drink menu. Very good, loved it. Ordered the buffalo cauliflower and the mac n cheese. Buff cauli was not very good. It should have been cooked longer, plus needed some breading, all the buffalo sauce fell off. Would not order again. Mac n cheese was was good although garlic bread that came with it was burnt. Bar One is one of the few restaurants in the Milford area that has a few solid vegan options, which I really appreciate. Right now their notable selections include the Beyond Burger, Veggie Potstickers, and a Fried Tofu Poke Bowl. I came here last night for my first time eating in a restaurant since the pandemic started and got the Beyond Burger, and I was not disappointed. I've had several great plant-based meals at Bar One before, and they've all been great. (Please note, though, that if you are trying to order vegan here, I believe that the Bar One Fries are not actually vegan, despite being listed under the vegan section of their online menu.) Bar One also has some truly amazing mixed drinks. I've tried several different cocktails here, and they have all been great. Most recently I tried their new Matcha Sour drink (normally made with an egg white, but can be made vegan without it), and it was fantastic. I definitely would recommend Bar One. Dropped by after word that it was excellent. Watch the closing time as they close at 500pm on Sundays. It was busy. Waitress was really slow, took 15 mins to get a drink ( couple of beers) she couldn't remember what we ordered and came back to say her tablet erased everything and could we repeat what we ordered! This was our first time to this place and came here from reading other reviews. The decor and ambiance is nice in this place, we got here around 6:15pm. No one greeted us, there was no hostess, so we asked the bartender who told us to sit anywhere. I didn't have any issues with our waitress who was pretty good, but the bartender was super slow, so I have it 3 starts. It took forever for our drinks, it took over almost 15 min for us to get drinks. I wish I had ordered two so I didn't have to wait for the second round. I ordered a martini and it also looked like someone already took two sips from it. The bartenders count was way off or the restaurant trained her not to fill to the top. The food was not bad and they give you complementary chips and those were really good.We were able to split our wing order for two different types, while the menu was small it did have some good ideas. We tried the peppers, wings, mushroom flat bread and pulled pork pork sandwiches. All were pretty good and we had no issues with the food. The place did seem to fill up as we were trying to leave, we were here over an hour. Since the place does get small you had some people were were standing around you waiting for you to get up so they could take your table. There is also no cell phone service here, so if you go on a date here don't expect to be saved if needed by a call or text! Overall place was nice instead and clean, waitress was good. This has been my favorite date night spot in probably 5 years. The epitome of a big city gastropub in small town Milford, where ironically there biggest strength is probably the originality of their mixed drinks which matches the originality of their apps. Bar fills up before the tables and not the biggest place but always worth the wait. Great for a first date or special date but not the best for kids or infants still depending on when you go it should be fine for kids just not night time. read more

I went in by myself. I offered to sit at the bar since I was a party of one, and asked if I could still get food service at the bar. The hostess said I could. I was given a menu, and someone finally took my drink order, but no one ever took my food order. I was totally ignored. After about 40 minutes, I put my credit card down on the counter, and someone finally asked if I wanted another beer, and I said that no, I just wanted to go. I was so angry at having been ignored. It's awkward enough eating out by myself without being ignored by the staff the whole time. And the beer was over $8 and served in a plastic "Bud Light" cup. read more

We had driven past this place several times, always saying "we should go there!" Well, we finally did; we were very impressed! The decor is very hipster Art Deco: Edison lightbulbs, dark wood, and geometric art. We sat, and were quickly given cold water in a glass jug for the table and a basket of homemade chips. The chips were good, but not amazing. Then, we ordered drinks from the extensive drink menu! I had a delicious Sazerac, my mother had a well-made dirty martini. Both were very reasonably priced. Our dinners were the real star. She had the Thai Duck Wrap, and absolutely loved it. She chose sweet potato fries on the side, and they were amazing. Crispy and soft on the inside! This was a great place located on the downtown square in Milford, a place I had never been before. Looking for a late dinner we went in and I was surprised given the area that this was a bit of a trendy and upscale place, when I went in expecting a local place friendly to the townies. A large drink and cocktail menu and atmosphere was far more like a gastropub. The menu features the typical bar staples like burgers and apps, but many items were high end twists. like the Lucky Duck flatbread pizza with duck and arugula which was absolutely delicious. Other flatbreads, southern style dishes and numerous poutine options. There is something here for everyone. With outdoors seating, good service and reasonable prices, this will be one to go back to when I'm in the area. read more
