I ordered the corn flake fried chicken sandwich. Ceviche - a nicely sized portion that comes with 2 crispy tortillas. Inside the ceviche are finely diced carrots, red onions and cucumbers, cilantro, sliced avocado, and numerous pieces of diced fish and lime juice at the bottom. 5/5 Chicken sandwich - served on a plate with 2 sliced yellow cherry tomatoes sitting face down. This has a large breast, with pickles and cole slaw. 3/5 This is my kinda place, and it seems fairly unusual to find a restaurant like this in Laredo of all places. I said dining for one and grabbed a menu and slid it across the host stand out of pure laziness. She slumped her way over with the menu hanging on her left side and sat me at a table. Wow what a lousy first impression for a restaurant that I was so excited to visit. A server came over gave me a menu and brought me water. Disappointed to see that the menu was completely different from the menu that I saw online. No unique dishes and the variety was not great. However, I was there and felt I'd give it a chance. A server that was at the bar entering tickets or something, kept looking over at my table, but no one ever acknowledged me after I was seated. I waited for about 10 minutes until someone realized I need assistance. The server finally came over. He was polite to check my order served my meal left me to be on my own to check on me one time, but it certainly wasn't a two minute check when he should to see if my meal was to my satisfaction. My plates were not cleared and I had to ask for the check.. the food was OK. I had the salmon. Nothing spectacular. risotto was uneventful. Got my check and left. No goodbye, no thank you for coming in no stand out service.
