We drove by during the day and the area did look a bit sketch...but we still went back the next night to try it out. We are so glad we did. They had fun themes with the drinks and a cool vibe. I have been to Barcelona, so I Loved the Las Ramblas theme and historical theme. Our lady bartender (darn, what was her name? She was so nice) was great. She came up with a special drink for my friend based on what my friend likes. I tried one of the specialty drinks. And the prices were great. Don't miss out. Cool place to visit and although they may still be improving the area, the clientele was definitely a good crowd and nothing scary about the location. And we ate next door.. tapas...delish!

I don't know if I can begin to explain the charm of this place. Maybe it's just more relaxed than most of the bars frequented by the 21-30 crowd in Brownsville, but this isn't to say if you're not over 30 you will be the youngest person in the bar. There are people from age 21-70 in there, but they all seem to be searching for the same relaxed bar experience peppered by hilarious karaoke performances. It would get 5 stars if it had a more consistent crowd. Best nights to go seem to be Saturday and Friday, but Wednesdays and Thursdays have been solid from time to time.

We really like that it's adults only, which makes for a relaxed atmosphere. The food isn't anything fancy, but it's always delicious. Burgers, pizza, salads, etc. Everything we've tried has been good. The staff is wonderful. There's one bartender in particular who seems to always be working when we visit, and he's consistently attentive, friendly, and makes the experience that much better. We've never stayed at the hotel, so I can't speak to the rooms, but we absolutely love the bar, food, atmosphere, and live music. It's one of those places we look forward to visiting every time we're in town.

Despite paying 80% when booking, which is what it asked for, they called as we were driving there, to tell us that we hadn't checked in and they need the rest of the money, and wanted us to give them our credit card over the phone - keep in mind that it was 11am, and before we could possibly check in. Beyond that, giving a credit card number over the phone is a great way to have a bad day, which was validated later. We ended up getting there, and it is a DUMP. I mean rotten wood, mold, peeled paint, nasty smells. Dirty common areas that were filthy the whole time we were there. The room had stuff all over the floors that hadn't been cleaned from the prior guests. When you are there, don't plan to sleep. They have nightly live music that is incredibly loud, and there is no part of the property that you can't hear it. People are drunk and yelling and screaming till 2-3am every night. No amount of ear plugs can enable sleep. Any questions of staff are met with disdain. The food is disgusting and I literally threw up from it the last night we were there. Drinks are the worst I've ever had. Didn't even bother to blend the Mudslide that I ordered. Keep in mind, that I like Waffle House, so for me to call this place terrible, it's legitimately terrible. Oh, and the TV stored my AppleTV login info, even though I fully logged out, and I find out yesterday that someone has rented $180 of movies this week that I am now having to fight.
