This little wedge of a cafe attached to Charing Cross Cuts serves a decent brew of Allpress Coffee without much of a wait. I'm amazed by how much they cram into this 3 odd square meters without making it feel cluttered - some bar seating overlooking Bronte Road, a glass cabinet of baked goodies, a shelf of teas and jams and the sweetest, fluffiest white terrier who'll sidle up to you as you're eating and look up at you with eyes that you can only give in to.
I've yet to have a meal there but there's a blackboard outside with an ever changing daily special, mostly salad, soups and sandwiches. I don't know how they manage to cook anything in this nook but it's a great spot for a takeaway coffee if you don't want to deal with the lines at Ruby's or the Sardinian cafe down the road. read more
