I have only written two reviews on Yelp. I'm very careful when I do so here I go... I've had multiple surgeries in the last 20 years and have never gone to physical therapy because it was so painful and stressful for me. I took a very serious fall at the end of May and injured in hip. I decided I would give PT a try. I was so lucky (lack of a better word) to find Dr. Chad at Banner PT. He is so good at his job. He made me want to come back and really do the work... I'm improving everyday. I can't express my thankfulness to Dr. Chad and Ericka. Yo, same thing with referrals. Different need for a visit. This time I've got Yelp to advise fellow patients. If you're coming, best come with a hard copy of your referral. Faxed referrals seem to zip into this mysterious vapor cloud. In other words, the fax machine is like Cookie Monster. It gets hungry and likes to eat things. The front desk will not be happy with you. You will not be happy. Having learned from my hip issue (yes, I'm falling apart), I clearly explained that my referral was being faxed over at the time I made my appointment. Whomever I spoke with acknowledged this. I stressed I was not in a position to drive and pick up my referral. (Right foot is out of commission.) The front office said this was no issue and they would call to follow-up if the fax had not been received. Today I arrived for my 11am appointment flustered. (Late, my ride side swiped a car. Not my fault! However, I did ring the office to let them know I was running a tad late.) Upon signing in I was informed - wait for it - that my referral had not been received. Fine. I inquired if any follow-up had been made. No. I recapped yesterday's convo. (Yes, I had this conversation yesterday with the front desk over the phone. The replay went over like a mind eraser drinks had been given out with coffee that morning.) *crickets* On my way out I asked for my account number, so that I could access my information online. The front desk wrote down a number on a post-it and said, "Enter this number on the web site." The website? There's only one website on the interwebs? I blinked a few times and patient-ly (see what I did there?) asked for the web url. She was going to write it down for me. Then realized she could simplify the process by writing the account number on the form. That being said, my visit with Sean was great. He understands the reason for my visits and I'm happy to be working towards my goals. The intake process was thorough and the exercises were clearly explained. I'm sorry to have written such a negative review. However, this was a similar experience to my first visit. Except this time I controlled my voice. And did not let the irritated expressions of the front desk get to me. Going to see a medical professional should not be this ... challenging. read more

I have the best physical therapist, tech and intern in the world who have been assisting me through a shoulder injury. Sean, Carlos and Mari (respectively) really help me through every move, make sure I am executing them accurately, and swiftly move me through my sets. I am really happy with the treatment I receive at this clinic and how well I am improving. They are also very patient with me as I tend to have to cancel a lot for various reasons. The best part of my one and a half session is the massage by Sean or Mari! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! I have paid my full amount and have documentation that I have sent them and they keep sending me bills. My last appointment was 11 months ago. At that time they agreed that between my payments and the insurance payments I had a zero balance. Every several months I receive a new bill from them. Each time the amount varies. I call them and after they look through it they agree that I owe nothing. Then several months later I get another bill for several hundred dollars. This company is RIDICULOUS!! They do not know how to run a business. We are faxing them the same documentation again that shows we are paid in full. The therapy was good but the hassles from their billing department are unbelievable. I feel sorry for anyone who does not keep accurate records and pays them when they have already gotten their money. read more

I find myself back in the torture chamber of a physical therapist for a knee that won't cooperate... or an injury that keeps getting re-injured. Nonetheless, my surgeon, trying to avoid taking me back to the OR for another bout of surgery on not one knee, BUT NOW, TWO knees ( are u kidding me, THANK you MR. catering guy for leaving a wet mess on my galley floor... that and my stillettos don't play well together!)... sent me to this physical therapy center near my home. What is convenient is that it is located in the TOCA office section of the Biltmore Medical Plaza and right near my home. Awesome, since my cute torturer wants to put me thru the trials 3 times per week! I will say, as much pain as I am in initially, my PT , Sean, is professional, he talks to you about each exercise or therapy technique and explains the effect it will have on my knees. His tech is just as good. To distract me from my pain, and yes, at times, tears, he talks to me, jokes with me... and is compassionate. NOW if they can help me avoid surgery until next year .. PLEASE... I will give them a 5star:-) read more

My last review was while I was a patient and I didn't want my true review to cause my treatment to be worse! I went there for months without improvement. The would have me lay on heat, then do little exercise that I could do at home, because they make more money the longer your visit, then use ice, each thing is a charge. At one point I asked the therapist, Older guy named Richard, why he didn't do massage as I knew it would help immensely wirh my injuries, he told me insurance did not allow them to do massage. I then witnessed other therapists using massage on patients. I also witnessed a Richard use a to well on which he had sprayed the ad pray they use to wipe down the equipment when he was touching another patient. So, he evidently has a touch phobia or something, so why is he a physical therapist! He was more interested in bragging about who he had worked on than my healing! I ended up switching to the office manager, also a therapist. I eventually left this office after months and went to Tim Ferron, my improvement there was far superior and faster. I would never recommend Physiotherapy Associates! My recuperation from my car accident too much longer than it should have, do infuriating! ! read more

I have only been going for about 2 weeks now but I can say with complete confidence that the entire staff is outstanding. Rich (my PT) is friendly, kind and professional. He listens to my concerns and explains everything in detail so I'm always on the same page. The PTA's remember me by my first name and genuinely care about my well being. I actually look forward to my appointments because I feel so welcome. read more

I would highly recommend my physical therapist, Samantha. She is one of the few in the valley who specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy, and she helped me feel SO MUCH better during the few months I saw her. She is incredibly skilled and very personable. So grateful for her help! read more

Where to start. Way overpriced for services offered.....lots of waiting time for main therapist to help with stretching at end of session...if he happened to stop by. Billing states 15 minutes of "manual therapy"....in reality....1 minute. Lame....ripoff. Assistants are good, but this place is overcrowded, over priced and not too personalized. Highly disappointed. Billing to insurance appears inflated to the point of ridiculous. Therapy exercises ( which I did) $268, ice pack $50, Ultrasound(not even close) $64, patient eval.$198. At 43 years old I had I had to get a full hip replacement due to BMX riding and many physically demanding activities i enjoyed throughout my life. I came here and received awesome attention and great therapy tp help my hip. The excercises were very simple but effective and I felt the difference after the first day of thereapy. Rich Elsner and his associates are very pleasing and knowledgable to work with. After you've signed in you can just walk to the back with out waiting and receive immidiate attention. First and foremost, the physical therapists are fantastic, they helped me through a double groin pull and got me back on my feet. they are personable and have a fun environment. The reasoning for 1 star is the billing department. they have limited hours (8 to 5 M-F central time) which means I need to leave my office t have a private discussion. I have been sent to collections twice for the same bill which was paid 3 months prior, I provided the date and amount of the transaction to the representative and the information about my bank so they could validate any additional information required. Tis never happened. If you have an option for a different physical therapy center, you should consider it. Physiotherapy has a bad billing department read more

In 2009 I blew out my ACL playing football and also tore my meniscus and cracked my kneecap in the process. It was a horrible injury. I basically had to learn how to walk again. Rich was my PT and he was excellent. Experienced, funny, and knowledgeable. At times, physical therapy was extremely frustrating. I darn near passed out on the table one day when Rich was stretching out me knee. But the end result was worth it. Thanks to Rich, a year after my surgery I was able to run camelback mountain in 27 minutes and throw up 900 lbs for 8 reps on the leg press. Additionally, Rich fought with my insurance company to get me maximum benefit. Above and beyond with a great end result. Thanks Rich! read more

I came here for my physical therapy after I had my knee done. I loved it! The front desk was extremely helpful and worked with me, though the paper work was extensive (though what doctors office doesn't have a ton of paperwork) My therapist was Souzan and she is not only great but she is a sweetheart! The tech's were great and the atmosphere is amazing. It feels like the staff is one big family, always talking to the patients making us feel comfortable. They didn't make going to physical therapy feel like a chore, they made it enjoyable. Now, my knee is better than ever, I'm able to go hiking and do other activities with my family. I reccoment this place to anyone who is looking to get great treatment and have an amazing experience while doing it!! read more

The PT was fine. But the cost was not worth it. I asked as many questions as I could think of to get an idea of cost before going, but the answers I received were misleading. In the end I was shocked to get a bill with highly inflated prices. When I tried to get answers to the reason for a double billing on the final visit, I was met with resistance and apathy, including constantly being referred to someone else, then calls never returned. However, I did get calls from billing that I had a bill due. I was continually told that the therapist would have to answer my question, but she would not return my calls and the manager said she would not talk to me. I am left with a very "bad taste in my mouth" and could not ever recommend this business to anyone. read more
