I find many deep fried foods are very tasty including fish & chips, poutines, and Beavertails!!!…read more A Beavertail is a Canadian staple, which is a fried dough (whole wheat) pastry, deep fried in soybean oil and shaped into a beavertail, covered in butter and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Topping combinations are optional (additional cost) including Chocolate Hazelnut, Maple Butter, Avalanche (cream cheese, Skor, chocolate drizzle), Apple Cinnamon, Banana Chocolate, Oreo, Triple Trip (chocolate hazelnut, Reeses Pieces, Peanut Butter), Voyageur (maple spread, pecans & honey sauce), or Garlic Butter & Cheese. While shopping at Wharf Village near Magnetic Hill, we stopped for a snack at the Beavertails cabin since we were a bit hungry and also had a small case of "Bieber" fever too (chuckle). We decided to share an Apple Cinnamon Beavertail, which was made to order promptly. With plenty of napkins on hand, my friend and I enjoyed this very sweet treat, which is similar to the fried dough in the USA.

One of my need to eat foods when I visit Canada…read more It reminds me of a funnel cake but thicker and shaped like a beaver tail. There's a variety of toppings such as maple spread, Nutella, cinnamon sugar, etc. I think it would taste even better if they were to add ice cream options on top! Apparently it used to be in the wharf area, but now it's located in a stand right in front of the water park.
