I don't think anyone who has their hair cut by Damarita should even think of giving her less than 5 stars. 5 for the style, ambiance, attitude, customer service and her personality. Come in and get your hair cut and prepare to be entertained. This girl has so much personality it doesn't just stop here, she brings it on over to your hair! I came in with hair that was well overdue for a haircut. I have short hair and have never really been able to pick something that has the style I desired. Damarita understood that I wanted something different, yet familiar. She nailed it! I walked out of there so happy with my haircut! That girl is something else. I swear I think she is the latina Edward Scissor hands. I just kept seeing snips of hair flying and knew that it would turn out right. She moved her hands with such ease, definitely knows what she is doing. Don't be like me and park in the wrong parking lot. $19 later I wasn't happy about that. Call her if you need to know where to go. Ring in the New Year with a new style and leave it up to her! :) read more

I've been going to Damarita for over 7 years FOR A GOOD REASON. One, I can't seem to find another hair stylist who has that NATURAL talent. Second, no matter how many times I change my hairstyle she takes it to a whole other level! She has turned me into a red head, brunette, black hair, shaved sides, short bangs, long bangs... and brought me back to blonde -and still my hair is always so healthy. She has even FIXED every hair flop I have ever experienced when forced to go somewhere else during my travels. One thing I really love about her is her personality and passion for PEOPLE. You show up feeling like Eeyore and she has you leaving-twirling like Mary Poppins out the door! She tells you the truth -what looks good and what does not. Making you feel good about myself is important to her. BONUS -whenever I have changed my style, she proceeds with caution.. meaning she makes sure my cut requests and color are never beyond what "I think I want". Go to Damarita for the professional hair experience and positive energy! read more

I'm so happy I found Damarita! It is said that Beauticians are not Magicians but Damarita has done a miracle in making me look Fabulous!! She's super sweet and friendly. All I said was that I wanted a bob cut and some highlights and she took it from there and went beyond my expectations. Two weeks later, my highlights have taken on a multi honey light color and I have received MANY compliments. Friends keep asking me - who did you hair? Answer: Damarita, of course :) read more

I love Damarita! She always does a great job on my hair. She's the only stylist that will actually listen to what you want and create magic. I have very fine and thin hair and she has been the only person that can make my hair move and bounce as much as it does. She is great at texturizing thin hair to give it volume without making it look choppy and uneven. She is also great with cutting hair extensions. When I used to have them in, people couldn't tell because did such an excellent job with blending. Damarita is the only person I trust with my hair. I will drive endless miles to see her. It's worth it :) On top of being a great hair stylist, she has the most fun personality. She always brings plenty of laughs and smiles. For all her talent, her services are very reasonably priced. Highly recommend! read more

I found Damarita through a Groupon deal. Making an appointment was easy peasy because her hours are so flexible. I was almost a half hour late to my appointment and she still greeted me with a smile and took me in. Damarita really loves what she does. She completely transformed my long, untouched locks and I left with a style that was young, bouncy and perky. At first I was scared with how much length I was losing, but I trusted her and I'm glad I did. Long story short, Damarita gave my hair new life. I would definitely recommend her anytime! read more

Damarita just does it right. I've been going to this firecracker for almost a year now, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. If you know exactly what you want, be open, honest and communicative with her on it, and she'll hook you up. She just gets it. I always leave feeling fresh, clean and sharp. And it also helps that her attitude puts a smile on your face the hole time she's working her stylist magic. Highly recommended. read more

Damarita did my hair and I loved it! She was awesome, polite and sweet. I truly appreciated the time she spent in making adjustments. I highly recommend her! read more

Damarita did an amazing job on both my mother and I. I hadn't cut my hair in a long time because I'm lazy and also scared to lose length. My Mother had a similar thing going on mentally...in a lot of ways beside hair. Anyway, we showed up last minute in a huff and Damarita got right to work, finished us both in really quick time but also made us very happy. I only got a before and after of my mom, but my hair hadn't been cut in a year and the dead ends made it impossible to wear down without accumulating a dread lock after a few minutes. She did a fantastic job and we would both really recommend her!!! :) read more

Damarita did my hair back in Sept 14. I was in need of something great, call it a Wow-Factor. My exact words were, "I don't want to look like mom!" At the end of my appointment she accomplished just that! With simple cut and a color that will be easy to maintain I walked out feeling amazing! She has a positive energy about her that is just addicting. I recommend her all the time! read more

Stop looking for a great stylist, this is the one! This woman is amazing, I love her and the studio ! I'm new in town and was a bit nervous getting a new stylist. Damarita's energy made me feel at ease immediately. I enjoyed the way she attentively listened to what my needs were and then added her words of expert advise to enhance my personal style. Right away, I felt her experience and passion. I really loved the way her studio is set up, I got her all to myself, no distractions. She provided me with an affordable quality cut and I made a new friend all at once. I've found my LA stylist on the first try, I'll be back again. No need to look elsewhere. And I'll be sure to tell any new friends I make here about her as well. read more

I recently moved from New York City and needed a great hair Stylist that could work with my sometimes hectic travel schedule. I have Asian hair which can be tricky with dying and keeping short without thinning it out and Damarita was an excellent choice. She accommodated my schedule, was ready and had everything ready to go at her house to do my hair and I was out of there in good time as well. Damarita is WELL WORTH her amazing prices and u highly recommend her services. read more

Had a appointment this morning for 9:00 a.m. with Damarita(my first), drove 60 miles round trip and she was a no show. She might give a good haircut, but I wouldn't know, and will more than likely never find out... read more

I like how private the salon feels and yet very open at the same time. Damarita understands me, but most importantly, my hair. I showed her a picture of what I wanted to do with my hair and she explained how and what we would have to do to get to that point. By communicating with each other, I have achieved the desired look and couldn't be happier. I had previously tried this look with two other stylists who never "got it right". I'm sold on her and thank God I walked into her life. She's easy to talk to, not so "foo-foo", yet her hair is always funky and modern and she is very professional and I recommend all of my friends to her when I know they are looking to making the switch. read more

This chick has no idea what she's doing or how to cut hair. She over buzzed the back of my head. I told her plain and simple 1 fade going up she picked the wrong blade and had the audacity to blame me for her mistake. Go somewhere else. read more

I had an excellent experience here. It was my first time here and Damarita was really patient in listening to what I wanted. I had specific requirements since my hair is short and did not wanted it to be cut too short but only be cut in specific area while maintaining length at some places. My regular place of visit recently shut shop and it was a high end upscale place and they did a good job. Damarita was all that and more and I felt very satisfied with the cut and would highly recommend. read more

The best haircut ever, and possibly the coolest stylist in the world. I take that back... Definitely the coolest stylist on the planet! Damarita is amazing! I am so protective of my hair and up until recently, never colored my hair. But she looked at my face, skin coloring etc and discussed various coloring options with me and voila! I was recommended to Damarita via a friend and i have to say i wont be going any where else now. She's a joy to be around, is very flexible and makes you feel incredibly comfortable on first meeting. BEST HAIR DRESSER EVER!! Great personality, great service, and truly caters to my hair wishes. I've been a client for 4 years and I'm never leaving! She knows exactly what I'm trying to do with my hair and gets it right every time. When I first started going to Damarita my hair was just that hair...but now?! I'm currently trying to grow out my hair and she knows how I like to style my hair so she incorporates that into each haircut! Her personality is seriously amazing. I have truly never met such a unique and fabulous person as Damarita! She is amazing at every style I have ever wanted for my hair - she is one of those innately creative people. I was new to LA last year and needed a hairs cut badly. I happened to stroll into Floyds on Melrose and sit in Damarita's chair. She recommended a cut that I wouldn't have normally gotten and it turned out to be the best hair EVER! When I told her I was new to the city she started telling me about all the best spots to check out. Later I needed a cut the day before a business meeting and went to Floyds. Damarita wasn't working and some dude butchered my hair!! From now on I will always go to Damarita. Even if she moves to the east coast I'd have to figure out how to make my monthly fro trim. Her new space in Bev Hills is so much nicer too! Great hair cuts and one of the coolest people on the planet to hang out with. Go see her!!! read more

It is truly unfortunate that 5-stars is the highest one can rate Damarita. Simply put, she is incredible. I've been getting my haircut exclusively from her for around 3 years now, and do not ever expect to change that. Look, let me break this down for you. Damarita is the best. My husband found her over 4 years ago and now we follow her and encourage her to go on her own and she did!!! She's consistent and that's what I think is most important in any customer service industry. Consistently great hair cut, Consistently great conversation, Consistently on time, Consistently priced. We have since moved across the country but, our LA trips are all based around a time that we can get into seeing Damarita while we are in town. We love her so much she did our wedding and it was a big deal for her to do. It was Saturday and that's notoriously a big day for her and she made it work and we are so grateful because there is no one else we would have wanted to do our hair or even more important bring her energy to our wedding day. I could write on and on and on about Damarita. She is the best, gives the best and deserves the best. I see she has one client that gave her 1 star. Don't let me find him in a dark alley. This review is slightly overdue but I intentionally waited to make sure my cut was not one of those cuts where you step out of the salon looking like a million bucks but that feeling only lasts for a few hours, as your hair goes back to its original shape and form. She patiently listened to exactly what I wanted and was honest about what would look good and what wouldn't. She takes her time with your hair so you know she truly loves what she's doing!
