Today I got perhaps the best haircut I've ever gotten and it was from Deyla! I like a lot of layers in my hair and I got them! It was my first time with her and I'm never going to anyone else. She's my girl now. Usually after a haircut, I go home, get out my curling iron and fix my hair. I purchased a Groupon here for a cut, deep condition and blow dry. Luckily, they were able to fit in their schedule the day that I called. Beverly was able to see me and took care of me. She listened to what I wanted and made sure with me on how much she was planning to cut. I really wanted a simple trim just to clean up the ends of my hair and still keep the long length. Beverly definitely delivered and gives really good scalp massages too with the shampoo and conditioner lol She also offered me a magazine to read after washing my hair (which I kinda felt like she didn't want to make small talk with me) but sometimes I guess relaxing silence is good too during the haircutting process. Be aware that you need to schedule your appointment VERY far in advance. I don't have curly hair by any means, it's just very frizzy and the before and after pictures really show just how much it tamed the frizz. Wish I had read the reviews before hand, I would have requested for Amelia to do my hair. This review is for a horrible experience I had with Kim on Saturday, June 6. I called when they opened to ask about their LivingSocial deal. The deal was: $35 for a cut, wash, conditioning treatment, blow dry, and style. I called to see what it would be for just a cut and Kim said $30. I thought, wouldn't it better just to do the deal then?!?! I asked would the deal work if I bought it today and she said no need; that I can just pay that price when I got there. Made an appointment for 1pm When I got there, Kim greeted me. She then proceeded to say, since I didn't want all that extra stuff that it would be $25 for a cut and wash. While she was prepping me for the wash, I asked her if it would be easier to cut my hair after washing or without washing. She said it didn't matter and then proceeded to say "without a wash". I asked her if we could just do that then. We proceeded to the chair and she asked me what I wanted to have done. I told her I wanted 4-5 inches cut and to have my hair re-layered. I should have known right then and there not to have her cut my hair! She proceeded to chop my hair off in a straight line from the back. I was cringing and biting my teeth the whole time hoping she knew what she was doing. Then she started layering my hair in the front. She's an older lady so her hands were shakey. I was skeptical the whole time and it was my fault for not speaking up. The entire time it seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. All in all, she probably spent no more than 10 minutes on my hair. She didn't bother to blend the layers in the front with the rest of the hair. And when I asked her to, she said yes she could do that but just proceeded to chop hair off randomly. After a few attempts of trying to have her fix my hair, I felt so frustrated I just wanted to leave. When it was time to pay I asked how much for just the cut since I didn't wash. She still charged me $25 despite not doing the wash. I didn't say anything. I didn't even want to tip her! I normally tip 20-25% for services but with her, I was so upset but didn't want to be a complete b*@$h. I ended up tipping her minimal nonetheless.... I'm not from the area and was hoping to receive decent service but ended up with a horrible experience instead. read more

I love going to this place and now i go to no other. It took me awhile to find a salon that I am willing to go back to. I go to Amelia for my hair cut. No matter how confused I am on how I want my hair styled, it always comes out perfect when Amelia does it. She is super nice also. When she does your hair, it's like having a friend do it for you. She remembers you even if it's been months since you've seen her last. She's both professional and personable. Deyla does my blowouts. My hair is just slightly frizzy so its not hard to work with. When I get my blowouts from Deyla, seriously, they last almost a year. Again, I start out with hair that is not super frizzy but it's nice not having to take so much time blow drying your hair. When I walked in to the salon everything looked new/nice "updated" I was then greeting by a women named Kim she she was so kind. I was very disappointed. I made an appointment for my daughter 3 weeks ago to have a blow out and style for her graduation, I made it very clear what we needed and why. We showed up and the stylist there had no idea why were there and was with a client. We were told she forgot to write the appointment down and she couldn't do her hair for another 35 minutes. She pretty much asked us to leave saying run some errands. We left and sat in the car for 40 minutes. When we retuned she had made very little progress on the client's hair and needed 15-20 more minutes. I explained again it was her graduation and we were running out of time. No apologies, no here let me get her washed and conditioned while she's waiting. Did not even attempt to fix her error. We left and won't be back. read more

Had a brazilian blowout and it was really nice and straight right after but the sad part was it didn't even last for a month and my waves are back and the end of my hair was really, really dry.
