Poor, dirty workmanship, failure to complete jobs in spite of being paid in full. He left one heat pump working in pieces on the basement floor instead of being mounted, has left an enormous mess and has removed none of the ducting and furnaces he was supposed to remove. He ignores my phone calls and texts. I have to call from another number so he cannot avoid speaking to me. He promises to respond 24/7 and NEVER DOES!!!!! He always has some fabricated emergency involving sick children, fabricated visits to the ER, being kicked out of his rental temporarily, having to move into a house with no heating as excuses for leaving a job 1/3 done for weeks on end. First They show up 2 hours late then says there is no electrician to connect them, they just put the units on the bare ground and says it's good. Leave for 3 hours and threaten to break them. So they left here with no operational units and I have to go find electrician. Call them back to make the correction and they send me a quote over $500 to make the correction they should have did the first time. The ducking is all crooked. We had them install our heat pump a little over a year ago. Always late,or not showing up at all. Finally showed up to install the heat pump and unit but didn't have the covering for the wiring. Told us they would be back in 2 weeks to finish. Needless say. Multiple texts, emails and phone calls later. We finally got it on six moths later. A year later.....We need the system serviced. They give us a date. They call that morning and cancel due to weather..ok fine.. we Reschedule..Next date my husband takes time off work to be home. No show. No phone call,or anything. We call office and are told that he can't be reached. His cell phone must have died.. Needless to say we have moved on.. Run..Don't walk..save yourself a lot of time and aggravation. read more

The phone experience is good. Matt knows his craft at the point of sale. They provide good pricing and the earliest availability. We had a couple heat pumps installed. They completed the job to their standards. The execution was a disappointment. Several cancellations & reactive communication & excuses. The workmanship & attention to detail of the job itself was also disappointing. Regardless, to be fair Matt always picked up the phone and did not make me chase after them for re-scheduling and re-setting expectations. In the end, it was a bad experience. I am not saying that I am not a "petulant" jack a$$ without a clue. But to all who research thoroughly important jobs like this, making a good product choice and execution is important. read more

Called for an estimate to relocate two heat pumps and install a third. Explained everything in detail and was given an estimate. They were a no-show for 3 appointments ( car breakdowns). Finally showed with no equipment to do the job (family in tow). They couldn't finish job and after two more missed appointments showed with one person and again no equipment. After inspecting the installation up to that point and finding numerous unacceptable and safety problems with the install asked him to leave my property immediately. I'm am waiting for a second (reputable) estimate to redo Bangor Heat Pumps shoddy and unacceptable work and will be taking them to small claims court. We had Bangor heat pump out for a service call (thought we were saving $50 over our regular company). BIG MISTAKE!!! You really do get what you pay for. We were asked to pay $150 up front for a 'service call' where the tech supposedly found the problem and said that he had to order a part and it would take about a week to arrive. Fine, made an appt for a week or so out. This was the beginning of the no shows and no returned phone calls after multiple attempts. When we did get a response and made a new appt we would get no-shows with no phone call. My husband began to pepper the office with calls in order to try to get some kind of response; this is where the company began to respond with rude, unprofessional comments. After almost a month of this we finally gave up and called our regular company for the repair. Turns out, the repair that Bangor Heat Pump explained to us was not even what needed to be done to get our pump running again, and in less than a day. I had a service and cleaning scheduled upon arrival the tech. could not clean because he forgot his vac.and could not repair because he had no part. I rescheduled 4 times each time they NEVER showed I gave up. paid $120 for cleaning I never got and wasted days waiting for them.Worst company I have ever dealt with read more

Scheduled for service the first time and got a phone call an hour before he was supposed to be here saying that he was broken down and a tow truck was taking care of him but he would call me back and reschedule for immediate service. That never happened . so then I call again Speak with who I believe was the owner who says he will come the very next day. So I wait and wait at the time they told me and no one shows up I send a message on messenger no reply. I just can't believe that they would set up appointments and then not follow through? Heat pump at camp went out and only company who would call me back was Bangor Heat Pump. They came the next day and quickly diagnosed a squirrel chewed through the refrigerant coil on the outside unit, causing it to leak. They ordered the part (not a common replacement item and not on a common unit) and 2 weeks later it was installed and working. They always called me back, price was reasonable, everybody I spoke with was courteous, and while I had a few companies call me back days after I left messages, BHP was one of the few companies who would service a unit they did not install (I don't know who installed it). Flaky. Sadly typical of contractors in this area, who have so much business that they can afford to take you or leave you on a whim without so much as much as a word. Their tech wasted an entire morning doing an inspection of my project, with the promise that an estimate would be forthcoming. Several days, emails and phone messages later- nothing. If they can't do the job, why not just say so instead of wasting their tech's time and mine? If you use 'em, hope you have better luck with this outfit than I did. read more

Must not need business. I manage 25 homes in the area and quite a few of them are looking for heating conversions and new systems. Left multiple messages and tried calls many times. they never answer or return calls. If they don't want the sales imagine what it would be like to get a unit serviced by them they sold you.
