Quickly scanning the menu advice, I didn't see any option to make the gyro a combination with fries, so I ordered the side of fries $6.50. While sitting to eat, I was looking over the menu more and noticed that there was an option to make any sandwich an original which means..... add fries instead of lettuce tomatoes for $1. I would've gone this route if I saw that. I guess live and learn, my mistake but he should've told me of that option. Prior to arrival, we went on-line to preview their menu and saw many packaged meal arrangements. We parked and entered Popeye's with an idea of what we wanted. We expected to spend about $25-$30 for two people. The staff were friendly, polite and greeted us. The menu was diverse and offered the main entries with combo or side dishes. All seemed to come with a soft drink and I explained that I can't drink soda and inquired if they could substitute the soft drink for another item of equal value - I wasn't looking for something for free. I was informed that that was the meal arrangement and staff couldn't make substitutions and none were available. Why should I have to pay for something I can't eat. Thus, we were disappointed. The staff were knowledgeable and patient and made suggestions but nothing we could benefit from. We knew what we wanted. It seemed everything else was separate and though seemingly not expensive quickly added up. Again, having wanted to spend no more than about $30 for two people, to get what we wanted- no substitutions were available- ended up costing us about $63 with tax, double what our expectations were. Having returned home, we ate our packages and side orders. The chicken and sides were tasty but nothing that would set aside Popeye's as a cut above other local fast food chicken establishments nearby. We're aware of current global economics and the consequences upon fast food franchises competing to stay solvent. In short, we were dissatisfied with our order based upon the higher unexpected price and that we had to pay for soda that we don't consume. We won't be returning and will return to pizza or hamburger establishments or other fast cuisine take-out places. Suggestions: 1. where customers are unable to eat certain items, offer or substitute. Customers shouldn't be penalized because they don't like or can't eat something. This may not be allowable pursuant to corporate policy- nonetheless. 2. Consider questioning corporate and seeking alternatives and pricing more compatible with other local establishments, some of which offer the same food (chicken) and are reasonably priced.

This chick-fil-a has a very comprehensive and orderly pick up line. I thought the process was quick and easy. Lots of people were on line for pick up when I went. It was over the weekend. However, by 8:40-:45 consistently you're encouraged not to dine in. I work most evenings so this is not a one time occurrence, this is just about every time. Employees will sometimes come around and deliver the party line that it would be their pleasure to get you drink refills, etc. but too often they don't come back to do so and I have to go up to the counter for assistance. Rarely to never am I given a tray in the evening, always paper bags when I do manage to get there in enough time to be allowed to sit and dine (still haven't figured out what the sweet spot is leading up to 9:00). The Valentine's Day dinner event was advertised via an email my husband received for having the app as going to 9PM. He did the RSVP and was confirmed for 8:40 with a table meant to be waiting for us. We arrived on time but did not receive table service but rather had to order at the counter and got the good 'ole paper bags and the singer was putting her keyboard and equipment away...only the kind mascot was left to remind us of why we had chosen to join in on this event.
