I once got two free bottles of wine after I went to pick up my takeaway and had to be kept waiting for a little extra as it was very busy. The two bottles of wine came to the same price as the food that we ordered so we were very pleased. Basically, if you want authentic high quality Indian food then visit Indian Ocean, you will not be disappointed.

The flavours were gorgeous, the samosa's delicate spice perfectly balanced with yoghurt and the rich sweetness of the Manchurian (Indo-Chinese) dumplings and paneer in the sizzler was set off against some more punchy spice. The other ingredient in the sizzler is cassava which is quite heavy after a while and the dish is huge so it is recommended as a sharing starter and is enough for 3 or 4. Although we were basically full by that point we'd ordered some paneer toofani (with cashews) and a masala dosa, both of which were also really nice! I wouldn't hesitate to say this is worth the trip to Ashton, although as the Guardian review colourfully points out this is a cafe and therefore not a fancy date place unless your date only cares about the food being great in which case you are onto a good thing on both counts.
