When I saw a Handi on the menu, I reminisced fondly of times gone by at Tariq's in Leeds where their handi was full of fresh tomatoes, chillis and flavour. Unfortunately, this dish was not that. The saag paneer side dish tasted burnt and the daal had a strange taste too. I know flavours are subjective, and this could very well be some people's favourite curry house. But it wasn't mine. They sell coke by the glass bottle, which obviously tastes the best, but they charge a premium for it, making a big glass of coke £4!

It's good value too - around £25 for two starters, two mains, a couple of nans, a beer and a glass of wine. They also do takeaway, with free poppadoms and a generous 20% student discount. The portions are truly baffling. I also ordered an extra starter because I was disappointed with my rice situation, and feeling adventurous I went for something purely at random. Mistake. Because the description just listed some of the ingredients and no real details I expected something cooked, it was raw. It had a taste I was unfamiliar with. I left most of it.
