One of the flat out rudest people i've ever encountered. We entered politely and told the man we would have 7 people. He said nothing and just gestured to the tables in an annoyed way. We asked if they could move the tables together, he kind of just mumbled and gestured at them again and said he didn't know. I asked if he could ask someone who would know. He didn't say anything. I asked what the problem was and he said "You can't eat here. Like the sign on the door says, our kitchen staff is limited. You can't eat here." He said it so rudely as if it were his 20th time repeating it, when in reality it was like pulling teeth getting him to say a complete sentence. I said, "that's all you had to say." I did also tell him he was rude, because he was. If you're not able to accommodate people due to limited staff, that's okay! But there is definitely a right way to handle it. This was not it. Overall this was so strange and it felt like i was speaking to someone who was pissed off just by being at the restaurant. Why are people rude for no reason? I'll never understand. read more

This is a very lovely restaurant. Art on every wall catches your eye and the chairs and tables are beautiful wood, highly polished and comfortable. We went early in the evening, right when they reopen at 5 PM and there was only one server who got busy as people drifted in, but he was very good and attentive. Both the service and the environment were wonderful but the star of the show was the food. As vegans we love to find restaurants that will substitute tofu for any of the proteins. This restaurant did it in spades. I had the pad Thai which was very good and my husband had broccoli also with tofu and it was also excellent. We added a salad and spring rolls. Neither of us could find one thing to complain about. The meal was excellent we left happy, with some leftovers and we will go back again soon. read more

This appears to be a great place walking in, but we were just underwhelmed. It was very apearent the resturant has been around for years. The floor was worn from scooting the chairs in the same place for a long time. That being said our expectations were high. Service freindliness was minimal, portions were small. I can forego portion size and high cost for a good quality meal, but the food quality wasn't met. I give 2 stars because there is great parking and other choices nearby. read more

Went there a couple of days ago. It has been a long while since I've been there. The quality has drastically dropped since last I remembered. We had the combo platter and calamari for appetizers. The fillings on the egg rolls doesn't taste fresh. All the fried items seems dark like they need to change the grease. The calamari was not good at all. The breading on it was not tasteful to out it nicely. I had the pad see ew and it looks so pale and the rice noodles were all broken into small pieces. Taste was okay on the low side. We also ordered the Bangkok noodles. I don't think it's great but my friend said she liked it. But this is coming from someone who doesn't go to ethnic cuisine very often. Thai tea was good and they will keep your water glass filled all the time. So maybe it's a good place if you are not too picky or have high standards. $60+tips.. Tom Kha Kai soup Tom Yum Seafood soup Panang Curry (protein choice: pork) All three dishes with great flavor and hit the spot. Great food, service, and the restaurant has a great interior atmosphere! Went for lunch with some coworkers on a Friday. got the Thai yellow curry with chicken, and with the lunch special it came with jasmine rice and an egg roll, and for a starter, your choice of ginger soup or salad. I chose the ginger soup, and that and the whole meal was delicious! I also have a peanut allergy and let the staff know about it, and they did a great job to make sure there was little to no cross contamination for my food. read more

Absolutely one of the go tos in Waco! Bangkok has been around forever - their original location was at Ivy Square for the Wacoans who were here in the early 90s! The appetizers are delicious - my favorite being the #5 garlic and cilantro rubbed shrimp wrapped in an egg roll wrapper and fried to golden! Their dinner menu is expansive and should satisfy all in the party! The best dessert - sticky rice with coconut ice cream! DELICIOUS!!! read more

Really an elegant restaurant. They are closed Sundays and between lunch and dinner. As far as I am aware it is the only Thai place in Waco but some other might have Thai dishes offered on their menu. The lunch prices are great for the elegant surroundings. This is a place I could have a romantic dinner w my wife. I liked my green curry. It is the L1 on the lunch menu. I chose chicken but you could also order tofu beef or pork. It was spiced very well and had eggplant and carrots peas and a few other items. It comes with a salad or soup of the day as well as w an egg roll. Hadn't been in a while but I really enjoyed myself today. They can make any entree vegetarian on the menu. Very useful when I was a vegan before. I like that when I leave that I don't get that overly bloated sluggish feeling. I like the portion size and am a decent sized guy. I think it is a great place especially for a mid sized city like Waco. Very elegant inside and a place that is close to the college so convenient to go there if your visiting Baylor campus. read more

Hey Yelpers!! Tried this place for my birthday at lunchtime. My daughter ordered curry at level 3 heat. I ordered a noodle dish and wasn't even asked the heat level I wanted. My daughters dish was so hot you couldn't enjoy it and mine had no flavor or heat! The portions are small. The waitress never came back over to see how we were doing and never offered more water! The lunch salad before the meal was TINY and only consisted of iceberg lettuce and a couple shoestring carrots! They were out of soup so that is why I chose the salad. The waitress/hostess never asked us once how we were doing or how the food was. She did not come back and offer us a refill on our $2.95 small glass of soda. I had to call out for her and we were the only people left in the restaurant. It was 2:30 p.m. prior to them closing at 3:00 before the dinner hour. The food was mainly rice!!!! Im not sure what was up with the AC on a 105° day, but the heat was probably the only authentically Thai thing about my dining experience. Ordered the Pad Gra Prow, which is basically onions, beef, bell pepper & basil and ALL ABOUT the sauce and fresh ingredients and literally takes 15 min to make. It was brought out and it was watery and stuffed with green beans and crinkle cut carrots. My first thought was "what is this"? I took one bite and realized that the entire dish was nothing but a bag of frozen vegetable medley. Which explains the watery-ness. THERE WAS NOT ONE fresh vegetable on my plate. NOT ONE! I separated the vegetables and ate just the beef and rice. I can understand different takes on traditional dishes, but this was a blatant disregard for a patrons experience.
