Dr. Bajaj is amazing! FIrst I was originally scheduled over a month out due to her busy schedule but asked to be contacted if there was a cancellation. I was contacted and seen within 2 days for my urgent concern. She really listened to all my concerns and my rambling for an extensive amount of time and remembered eveything I said without writing anything down. I left with helpful information, medication and a care plan to help be get a handle on my issues. Her medical assitant was so nice as well. Ana is the one who got me in well ahead of my scheudled appointment. The office was clean and I had no wait upon arrival for my appointment time. read more

After 20+ years of using the same gynecologist, it was time to move on. I loved my doctor but the practice was a mess. I asked around and learned that many neighbors use this practice. I saw Dr. Bajaj because she was the one available the soonest for a new patient. Dr. Bajaj was great. She is very warm and outgoing. We chatted a while before the exam. She was a good listener. During the pap I did not even realize she was done. How had they been more uncomfortable for all those years prior with a different doctor? I came to Dr. Bajaj thinking I might have to have a minor but painful procedure but since medication cleared up the problem, the procedure was not necessary. The previous practice (a different Dr than my own) wanted to schedule the procedure even before giving medication a chance to work. I'm going to see Dr. Bajaj from now on. read more

I would not recommend this doctor. My office visit to this doctor was ridiculous. Office visit to Capital Women's Care is $30 after insurance. Office visit to this specific doctor is $315. How long did I get to actually interact with this doctor? Probably less than 3 minutes. 3 minutes for $345 - easy money huh? Dr. Bajaj spoke really fast and jumped among different office rooms because she seemed so busy. She did not take in my information carefully or didn't bother to spare any patience to explain. She signed me up for a $1,000 laboratory testing without fully informing me about the test, even the basic information - the particular name of the test, what timeline I should expect to receive the result. She said the test result would very likely to be negative considering I was taking antibiotics, but still went ahead and took the sample. Was it really a necessary test? Or she just wanted to bill the service for the laboratory? A doctor at minimum need to be ethical. read more

Before I begin, please make sure that the chronological order of Dr. Bajaj's reviews are accurate. After I submitted my review, a 5-star review for a patient seen on 1/30/2014 was reposted above mine (posted May 2, 2023). I noticed this on the Yelp page for Dr. Bajaj's practice. The reviews were out of order chronologically so that the highest reviews were within the first couple pages. I went in for a new patient visit with the main complaint of prolonged bleeding (30+ days) as well as for continued HRT. When I told Dr. Bajaj that I needed to change my tampon (a super size) 2-3 times a day for an entire month, she chuckled and told me that 2-3x a day is considered light. Not for me, Dr. Bajaj, and let's be honest, not for most women. That was the beginning of the dismissive and condescending attitude I had to endure the entire visit. Then I was told without any additional questions or even an exam, that my issue was perimenopause and that it is totally normal and natural for women to bleed for a month and something I just needed to deal with. This, again, while not even bothering to do a basic gynecological exam. But get this, she had no issue writing me a script to get an expensive ultrasound done at the clinic. I questioned why she would start with an ultrasound and not just do an exam. She said that they don't do exams for heavy bleeding. Um, what? This is a gynecology clinic, right? I said, speaking of perimenopause, I am here to be treated with HRT. She inquired what I had been taking previously and I told her that I had been seen by NAVA Health and took progesterone, which greatly reduced my symptoms. Now the dismissiveness and condescension grew exponentially. Eyebrows raised, dripping with condescension, 'You take hormones from NAVA Health? Well, that's not what we do here.' I wonder if practitioners like Dr. Bajaj ever take a moment to wonder why women are desperate enough to go to an establishment like NAVA Health and get prescriptions that offer relief instead of heading in to see the gynecologist like herself who has the bedside manner of malaria and rushes to prescribe expensive in-house ultrasounds and mammograms but doesn't even perform a basic exam. I told her that if men had to deal with the symptoms of perimenopause, the industry would be bespoke and personalized and all medical care completely covered by insurance ensuring that men never experience the insomnia, weight gain, brain fog, migraines, and month long blood baths. She snipped at me, "Well, I don't treat men." I got news for you, Dr. Bajaj, you don't treat women either! read more

I just got back from my first appointment with Dr. Bajaj and I was very pleased with my experience. Though the wait was a little long, the reception people and nurses were so nice. I got into my large, comfortable exam room and when Dr. Bajaj walked in, my jaw almost dropped to the floor. She looks like she's about 25, beautiful, with a really cute dress on. I was kind of like, hang on, this is my doctor? But she was great. She made me feel very comfortable, asking me about how my holidays were and where I was from and such during my exam. I'd left my previous gyno because of how impersonal and gruff they were, and wow, what a difference! Dr. Bajaj is even great with pill refills - no appointment needed! I'll definitely continue going to Dr. Bajaj, thanks to Yelpers for helping me find her! read more

Bandhana Bajaj, MD - From their website - Obstetricians & Gynecologists Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

Saw Dr. Bajaj for the first time and was impressed at how quickly I was attended to. Dr. Bajaj presented as knowledgeable about my specific issues and was able to prescribe me medications and explain why, when and how with ease. I felt comfortable with her, as I did not feel shamed and she listened to my concerns and helped arrange tests and follow-ups to address my concerns vs minimizing them, as some doctors will do when they feel they know best and I greatly appreciate feeling heard and given a plan of action moving forward! read more

I'll start by saying that Dr.Bajaj is very kind and I had positive interactions with all the staff during my appointment. The organization in this office, however, needs some serious work. 1. I was mostly concerned about a yeast infection, hence my visit. I received no follow up (still haven't) for an appt that was two weeks ago and it took three different phone calls for me to finally find out the Doctor had forgotten to take that test for me, despite her saying she would do it. 2. My appointment was not scheduled when I initially made it- I had to call again for them to actually get it in their system since I'd received no confirmation. Then when I arrived, the time they had of my appointment did not match the email and text confirmations I'd received so I had to wait around. Considering finding a new OBGYN. Sick of having to do all the follow up myself, not to mention every time I've called (about 6 or 7 times in the last month ) it is always around a 30 minute wait time. Hope the situation improves and others have better experiences than I did. read more

The reviews that are 3 stars or less about her were spot on (unfortunately.) This review is a TRUE 2-star "Meh. I've experienced better." review. She seems way more concerned with looking trendy than with spending time with you as a patient. She was wearing a maxi dress today - kind of unprofessional if you ask me. She *absolutely* seemed rushed and spent no more than 5-6 minutes with me after waiting for 20 minutes. (My first visit with her I waited over an hour) She's really nice/bubbly and pretty, but if you really feel comfortable with a gynecologist only based off of that, you should think twice. If you don't ever have issues and only require your routine pap, I'd say sure, why not. She's got a great hand for that - I didn't feel a thing. She'll answer a couple basic questions without getting into detail so for an annual she's great. Just: - don't expect to get an appt quickly - don't expect a call back with your results if they are normal - expect a long wait time in the waiting room - expect her receptionists to generally be unwelcoming (except for the one that sits all the way against the wall! She's always a sweetie.) If you DO have other issues you're worried about - just don't. If you want a doctor who's going to hold your hand a little more and assure you or go over things in detail with you to assuage your concerns, go elsewhere. She doesn't have that kind of time. I had a wonderful sonographer who was patient and kind. No abnormalities on my results thankfully so Bajaj's only recommendation was to put me on the pill, without explanation. Just a blank stare. I asked her to explain it to me. Her response was, "well it's complicated." ?? I'd like to know why she thinks her proposed solution would address my problem. I've never been on the pill before, and I asked her very basic questions about instructions/side effects and her response was, "The medication comes with a pamphlet of instructions/warnings." ?? I'm paying you. I'm entitled to be walked through a new medication by my doctor. The whole thing lasted 5 minutes MAX. I felt like I was annoying her. Like other reviews - it seems like they are just maximizing on charging people for patient visits instead of really taking the time with patients and their sensitive health issues. I've moved around in the past few years so this is the 3rd gyno I've been to, and the one I least prefer. read more

So now you Yelpers know everything about me. Where I get my shoes fixed, where I eat, who my dentist is, and most importantly: the woman who makes sure I don't have any STDs and that everything's "fine...there". I love Dr. Bajaj. She's young, very intelligent, nice, takes time to answer questions, made everything very comfortable. She makes the whole process easy and is very understanding. Like Amber & AS say, she DOES dress very nicely, has great taste, she's a gorgeous woman - seems like someone I'd be friends with if she wasn't my OBGYN. haha. (Not like that matters when choosing an OBGYN- just a perk to know that she's cool, too!) She works in a women's clinic in Foggy Bottom. Her location is metro accessible (very close to Foggy Bottom metro and quite a few bus lines including the circulator). The women's clinic is kind of annoying. Tons of pregnant women, a TV that blasts music and parenting information in the waiting room, no magazines except "Parenting" and "Baby Today" kind of things (I mean where's the Elle, Glamour, even some kind of trashy celeb tabloid?!). The front desk seems unorganized - I don't think they are, but they just get a lot of people coming in and out. I've actually dealt with much worse before so that's why none of this affects my five-star rating. I've never had to wait very long. The actual rooms where you see your doctor are great - very well designed (calm, serene, feminine), nice robes, nothing too "sterile" or old & gross feeling. There's a pharmacy downstairs in case you need to fill any prescriptions on your way in/out quickly. read more

Let me start by saying I really like Dr Bajaj and my rating of her as an actual Dr is 5 stars. She's super nice, upbeat and friendly and very knowledgeable. I just go to her for my annual so it's nothing complicated, but the first time she asked me a bunch of questions. She was also happy to answer any questions on all my visits and always asks if I have questions and/or concerns. As a new patient it took me 2 months to get an appointment. As a regular patient it took 3 weeks which is better, but jeez. Also, the last time I went I sat in the waiting room for over an hour. I actually thought they forgot me or something and was about to go to the desk when I was called. read more

It might be that I was expecting the best OBGYN after reading the reviews, but I thought Dr. Bajaj was fine, not amazing. I switched to Dr. Bajaj because her office in DC is very convenient to my work. It was also pretty easy to get an appointment with her even as a first time patient. Dr. Bajaj was very cheerful and friendly during my exam. However, she seemed very rushed. She never asked if I had any questions during the exams, and when I did bring up a few things that I thought she should know about my medical history, she seemed quick to dismiss my concerns without more indepth discussion. I'd continue going to Dr. Bajaj for my yearly exams, but if I have any health issues or special concerns, I will probably go back to my old OBGYN who is really wonderful. read more

Dr. Bajaj is really an incredible Ob/Gyn! I have recommended her to at least six other girlfriends and they all really like her as well. She is young, just out of residency and has a very new, fresh approach to Ob/Gyn. I felt super comfortable with her and will definitely continue my care with her. Plus, she was really open to helping me with various forms of birth control. The exam rooms are also super adorable. Very cutely decorated-makes you feel like you are in someone's room, not a sterile exam room. Highly Recommended!!! read more

Dr. Bajaj is the bomb! Yes, the waiting room is a little dark and crammed full with mommies-to-be but once inside your exam room, the hardwood floors, flowers, and dark wooden accessories make you wonder if you're going to put your feet in the stirrups or into a pedicure foot bath. I was eager to see her rumored beauty and when she opened the door it's true, she's a cutie pie. She was very down to earth and seemed the girl-next-door type except she dresses waaaaay cuter! [She was wearing adorable rainboots with her dress and leggings. I couldn't put something that cute together on the weekend, much less at my day job.] She was friendly and breezed through my health history but I got the impression she was sort of rushed that day. There were two slightly awkward moments (1)She started to give me instructions on how to take the pill and I had to remind her that I've been on and off it for the last 15 years; (2) She said "Is there any reason that I'd find an STD in your labs?" Well, I understand and appreciate her need for that type of information, but as a young 30-something married girl, the wording was a little blunt for my tastes. None the less, it was as pleasant as a pap can be, and I thought the fact there were so many women in the waiting room was positive commentary on the great service and medical care they receive. I'll definitely see Dr. Bajaj again in a year. read more

I think that trips to Dr. Bajaj are by far the easiest and least stressful dr visits i have to go to. (which isn't a ton, but still... you know). The reception area is always quick and friendly and has comfy seats. The nurse will take you into a very nice room and after getting changed I've never had to wait more than 3 min for Dr. Bajaj. Shes super quick and really friendly and honestly remembers things about you (even if she did just read your chart, she did it out side and is making eye contact while talking to you). :) She doesn't ask many questions, but is willing to listen and help if you have some of your own and does not give the impression of judging your choices or lifestyle. I would recommend her to anyone. read more

I'm basically seconding everything everyone has already said. She's got a WONDERFUL bedside manner which makes an already awkward situation much easier. I was a new patient so she was very interested in my history and making sure we discussed any potential medications thoroughly--which I really appreciated. At the end of the day she's straightforward and efficient--I'm sold! PS It's a total bonus that that examining rooms are actually pretty and almost spa like, love it! read more

I recently moved to DC and finding new Doctors is such a total pain, luckily Yelp led me to Dr. Bajaj! My appointment was for 1pm, the receptionist was friendly and I didn't have to wait long at all. The nurse who brought me into the office gets 1 star because she basically yelled and barked out orders so quickly I couldn't understand what she was saying- she was incredibly unpleasant. However, this review is for Dr. Bajaj and she was very nice, she really listened and made me feel very comfortable. If you're in need of a new lady doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Bajaj! read more

I had a very positive first of impression of Dr. Bajaj. She was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. If you have no questions or concerns and are completely healthy, then she is probably an okay doctor. However, I went to her for my annual exam with questions about some pain I was having. After doing a basic exam, she told me that she wasn't sure what was causing the pain and inflammation but that it would probably just go away on its own. Not exactly the answer I was looking for. She didn't even try to figure out what was causing the problem and didn't really seem to care. I'm not sure why, but I saw her a few more times and was equally unimpressed with her expertise. I've since found a much better doctor who was willing to help me find the cause of the pain. While Dr. Bajaj's personality goes a long way, it doesn't make up for her lack of expertise. I would highly recommend finding a doctor with more experience. read more

Dr. Bajaj was great! I just moved to DC, and it was time for my annual papsmear. I searched the internet for GYN's and came across Dr. Bajaj. I read mixed reviews about her, but I decided to just take the chance and go for it, and I'm glad I did! :) The office staff was very friendly. From the moment I checked in, to where the Nurse called my name to walk me into the exam room, I experienced nothing but kindness and attentiveness. My waiting time was also surprisingly short, thank goodness! Dr. Bajaj was very friendly, personable, and she made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. All in all, great experience! I will be returning. read more

Dr Bajaj has been my Gyno for over three years now and I love her! She is warm and welcoming, direct and efficient and I am grateful to be in her care! This review is for Dr. Bajaj as an OB and is not for Capital Women's Care. Dr. Bajaj saw me through my first pregnancy, which began completely normal and then became high risk during my 8th month. When things were going smoothly, she was cheerful, great at putting us at ease, and giving us enough information to see us through without creating anxiety or putting me on unnecessary restrictions. 1.5 months out from delivery she noticed a potentially serious issue and became very involved with my treatment, refering specialists, following-up on results, and even giving me her personal cell number at one point so I could check in. During this time I was able to get next day appointsments and received excellent care. In the end everything was fine and she delivered a healthy baby at Sibley. If you aren't the type of mother-to-be who needs a ton of hand-holding when everything is going fine, but expect a doctor's full attention when things go wrong, she's for you! As a note: CWC is sort of a lady mill. The nurses and wait times leave something to be desired. read more

Dr. Bajaj is certainly a friendly and personable gynecologist and that's why I originally thought I'd get along and trust her. However, her medical experience and skills are NOT excellent. After 1 year of being her patient (that consists of one annual exam), I had a slight problem so I went to her once before my second annual exam and explained to her the relatively minor issue. She couldn't answer my questions, and then had me do blood work to examine my blood panel. A week later, she leaves me a message on my cell phone saying that she needed to talk about my blood work results. We spoke and she said that I need to speak to an endocrinologist because she couldn't "figure out" what was going on. Fine. Happy to see a specialist. And then MIDWAY through our conversation, she said, "ooooh wait...." and re-checked the results and when we took my bloodwork and said "never mind. there's no need to see him" and gave me a totally new analysis while on the phone. I said, "so, I don't need to see an endocrinologist anymore even though you said 2 minutes ago I had to make an appointment with them soon." Right, Dr. Bajaj said without missing a beat or admitting that she was initially wrong. This conversation was VERY frustrating. You expect your doctor to have done a thorough read of your blood work results before she makes any conclusions. Right? Not in Dr. Bajaj's case. Nope, she had to ask me my name again in the middle of the conversation to see if she was reading the right report (she was) and then back-peddled on her initial analysis right there on the phone with me. Did this inspire confidence? NOT AT ALL. I'm no longer a patient of Dr. Bajaj as I honestly don't trust her anymore. Just because she's fun and outgoing and trendy and stylish does not mean that she's a decent gynecologist. I have found a really experienced gynecologist in the same practice and I would recommend him without reservation. Dr. Stephen Horwitz at Capital Women's Center. Good luck everyone! read more

I went to see Dr Bajaj for the first time based on a friends recommendation but the Dr didn't take me, Why? Here is the reason! My appointment was at 11:45, when I get there "earlier then my appointment" I couldn't check in with their self check computers. After a couple of times going back and fourth between the computer and front desk finally the lady Agreed to look it up her self and realized they typed my name wrong in the system! Finally by the time I get to check in it was 11:50 so yes 5 min late which was their own fault! Dr Bajaj wouldn't take me cause she had somewhere to be at 1 pm! To me this is NOT ACCEPTABLE! If you have an issue with your system or front desk people, you can't treat patients so rudely! I booked this appointment a month in advance, took off a whole day and came all the way from fairfax for this appointment and it was a total wast of day, very disappointing! read more

APPOINTMENT - An arrangement to do something or meet someone at a particular time and place. In case you forgot what that means Dr. Bajaj. My wait was disrespecting long. Had my last two annuals at this practice and i'm again looking for another doctor for next year. Dr. Bajaj seems more in the practice of maximizing patient claim revenue in scheduling more patients than she should-- no respect for her patient's time. The more people you bill, the more cute shoes and dresses for her i guess.--superficial and ridiculous to chose a doctor based on this by the way. I have waited no more than 15 minutes at a private doctors office before. I arrived early for my APPOINTMENT but waited 50 minutes past the appointment time here. It felt like an ER-- chaotic and I've NEVER seen a factory of woman waiting in a private doctors office. Working in patient care you should make a point to exude gentle energy and smile at least. her assistant was the same as last visit--unwarm, rushed, unpleasant and maybe she wouldn't look like a reformed drug addict if she greeted you, gave eye contact and smiled. How tacky after waiting for your boss for 50 minutes with no apology. Sadly, it's more of the same with the bloodwork techs--sketchy. I seriously felt I was in the care of a staff of reformed drug addicts. Staff is a reflection of the boss and though Bajaj herself gives a nice impression, something is unsettling about the conduct of this clinic. --i can't say tacky practice enough.. read more

I really liked Dr. Bajaj when I first started to see her and would totally have agreed with the five star reviewers, despite the fact that I regularly had to spend 45 minutes or more in the waiting room before an appointment. But through an unfortunate series of events I discovered that my last annual Pap smear had come back abnormal and Dr. Bajaj had never informed me of that fact. Luckily for me, I went in about something else a few months afterwards and because Dr. Bajaj was booked for months in advance I had to see another doctor. That doctor, who is now my regular GYN and who ALWAYS calls me about my results, asked why I had never followed up on my abnormal Pap. If she hadn't done so, I never would have known about it. I hope for the sake of her other patients that this was just a one time fluke - a rare slip through the cracks. But it scared me enough that I won't be seeing her again anytime soon. read more

Inexperienced, unhelpful, and hurried. No follow-up and no attention to prescribing me the right medicine for my needs. The medicine she put me on has horrible side effects which makes me question her judgement. Dr. Bajaj's office scheduled my wife's 20-week ultrasound on a day when their technician is never in the office. Rather than offer any sort of apology, Dr. Bajaj scolded us, saying that, had we not rescheduled an appointment, this likely wouldn't have happened. Apparently it is our fault their front desk cannot properly make an appointment. This doctor is arrogant and is completely lacking in bedside manner. read more

Was satisfied with Dr. Bajaj until recently. I"ve called the office repeately regarding blood work in which I was referred to the reults office as opposed to speaking with the Dr. I'm having some serious concerns regarding major changes to my cycle (even though test results are normal). It's been a month and I have yet to receive a return phone call from Dr. Bajaj. Is Dr. Bajaj nice? Yes she is a perfectly nice person. Did I get the best diagnosis or options for treatment? Not at all. Did she carefully went over my history the second time I saw her? Nope! I went to this clinic for the yearly check up because it is conveniently located but truly I would not recommend it. I got another doctor in the same clinic (female forgot her name) as rude as can be and also not very helpful. No I do not recommend this clinic. read more

After moving DC and I found what a pain finding new Doctors can be. After months of reading from Yelp and various listservs, I decided to try Dr. Bajaj. I was able to get my first appointment within a couple weeks, at that point I had to wait no more than 10 minutes. Once she came in and did the examine, I told her I was interested in getting an IUD. She had an honest and frank conversation (not lecture!) about the risks and rewards of IUDs, but told me ultimately it was my decision. The staff was efficient and timely working with insurance regarding the IUD and I had an appointment to place the IUD the next month. This appointment I had a longer (25 minute wait) but once I was back in the exam room she came right in and the whole thing was over in less than 10 minutes. Dr. Bajaj was extremely nice, listened and gave honest opinions and made me feel very comfortable. If you're in need of a new doctor I highly recommend Dr. Bajaj! read more

I personally have not had any bad experience with them. The staff are very friendly and the wait times are reasonable. Dr. Bajaj is wonderful! She's well-versed in medical conditions and treatment options, which is what matters most, but she also gets 5 stars for her demeanor. Thanks to her laid-back personality, my first GYN appointment was far less traumatizing than I expected I agree with previous reviewers who pointed out that Dr. Bajaj is a great dresser. It may sound trivial, but it's much more relaxing to talk to a young doctor wearing a cute summer dress and heels than a doctor wearing a white lab coat or scrubs. Con: long wait (about 50 minutes), bring a book. Also, take the metro if possible. I had to drive, and the closest available street parking at 10am was almost a mile away. meh. I have been to Dr. Bajaj for two normal checkups now. I like her well enough and will probably keep going back, mostly because she's personable and I'm pretty comfortable with her. I dont' mind being aggressive to ensure all of my questions are answered. Also, the thought of looking for someone new who is accepting new patients seems like a nightmare. The office staff, I could do without. To keep it short: The Good: 1) I like Dr. Bajaj because she's young, friendly, and seems competent enough. 2) This time, the front desk staff were friendly and polite. 3) The office is close to my work and I don't have to wait ages to get an appointment. Plus I think they have walk in appointments if you need something urgent. The Bad: 1) Despite coming early like they requested, I had to wait 30 minutes or so beyond my appt time. 2) Dr. Bajaj is super rushed. I tend to come prepared with questions, and she definitely answered without making me feel like I was burdening her. However, if I didn't insist on a few questions, I don't think it would happen. 3) The back of the house staff were rude, unhelpful, and condescending. I actually left pretty steamed (and have since calmed down). Dr. Bajaj told me that different people (named) would give me a prescription and a urine sample cup. However, no one did and was made to feel like I was an idiot because I didn't know how to find everything myself. read more

I recently needed a prescription filled in an emergency situation and I called the office, leaving two messages with the refill group, one with the information line, and one for Dr. Bajaj. No one responded to me until three days after I needed the medication. When the office finally returned my call they said they had no one staffing the refill line the day I called. I find this to be completely irresponsible of the office. I needed the prescription the day I called. Needless to say I am switching doctor's offices. read more
