Found this hole in the wall in the Britomart area. It looks like they've been around since 1999. I'm so glad I stopped to try it. The place is easy to miss as it occupies a small space among a small restaurant row on Commerce St. The only indication of the kind of food available inside are a couple of pictures of Korean BBQ dishes on the glass facade plus the name Bamboo.
Definitely a must-try. I ordered the small Bulogogi Beef with Rice for $13. It came with 3 side dishes / banchan (potato and carrots, kimchi, bean sprouts). The dish was big enough for the price. I loved the bulgogi -- it had a very tender bite, a subtle sweetness and a peppery after-taste. It was perfect.
I can't wait to try more of their dishes. I love Korean food and this place ranks among my top 10. read more
