We stumbled upon this place after we visited the art museum across the street on the first day we were in Auckland and we weren't sure where to go for lunch just yet. Since this place got really good reviews we decided to try it out. We did not have any Korean BBQ because we didn't see the orders on the lunch menu.
However, we did try a kimchi hot pot bowl and a ox tail soup dish which were both and really perfect for the day because it was a nice chilly day. The ox tail soup was a white broth with thin noodles; it was very savory and delicious. I didn't want to stop eating it. The Kimchi Hot Pot was large enough for two people to share, there was a variety of items such as tofu, carrots, napa cabbage, hot dogs (they refer to it as sausage), kimchi, ramen, and a slice of cheese. At first I thought it was really strange to have a slice of cheese in the dish, but after the first taste of everything together it was fantastic. The soup wasn't very spicy so I really enjoyed it, the kimchi side dish was much spicier so the soup was nothing compared to the side dish.
Although, we did not get to have any Korean BBQ what we had was still really good. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Auckland. read more
