Dr. Broadbent is thoroughly professional but also a kind, compassionate and caring therapist. She…read moreaided both my husband and I in working through some difficulties and both of us have, without reservation, recommended her over the years to people who have asked us for the secret to our happy & healthy relationship. They later thanked us.  We still go back for tune-ups now and again. "Our life together is richer, happier and more honest thanks to Dr. Broadbent. With her insightful questions, she helped both of us to decide to see our own lives more clearly and live more honestly and authentically."  - A direct quote from my husband.   We both have found that the hard work of self-examination pays off.  Learning how to face life honestly and courageously is not for everyone. Personal biases can preclude a good therapy relationship 'fit' (no, she was not our first couples counselor but she is the only one we recommend). Guilt, blame-shifting and denial - which involves lying to oneself as much as others - with the consequent anger are common early issues to work out. Owning one's own faults is tough. But only by doing so does one break through to all the good changes on the other side. It is one thing to know something intellectually, quite another to truly know it to one's core and live it. Take-aways learned in therapy: How people treat other people is a direct reflection of how they feel about themselves.  We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are. We have learned that miserable people focus on what they hate about their life. Happy people focus on what they love about their life. We now choose to be happy.  Thank you, Dr. Broadbent, for enriching our lives.

I've had good therapists and ones that weren't so great. I have dealt with a considerable amount of trauma and abuse, and I was looking for someone long term that I mesh with to really work on these issues. I almost felt like giving up then I came across Tali Shokek. We had our first appointment in mid March, I was very hopeful and the first appointment went well. She explained she sometimes was late bc of her personal life, and I was very understanding. We met a couple more times, two I believe, and she was late every single time, and I don't mean 5-10 minutes, I mean 35 minutes to an hour late or she'd reschedule completely. I have a 7 year old and to be able to wait around and have my child entertained when I have no clue when or if she'll log on is just not possible. So, last Tuesday, we were supposed to meet at 6, she didn't contact me until about 6:30, then called at 6:43 saying zoom wasn't working, which ***the rest of what happened is in the photos bc of the text limit Update-I'm adding her reply to the photos, she took no accountability and there was no apology for making me feel the way I did, I made the right decision.

I attempted to start sessions with Dr. Shokek but for our first session she didn't send a zoom link…read moreuntil 25 minutes after the appointment was supposed to be and we had to end up cancelling (my fault). we scheduled another appointment for the week after for 5pm, I texted her around 5:15 to ask if the zoom link was the same and with no response I texted her again at 5:45 asking if the session was cancelled. She then replied that she put the appointment in for the wrong time and asked if we could reschedule for 6:15. when the time rolls around 6:15 still no zoom link. 15 minutes later she states that she is just now checking my insurance. I asked to reschedule because I had other things planned to the evening and she ridiculed me asking "why did you schedule the appointment if you had to be somewhere?" That would be because the appointment was supposed to be an hour and a half prior. I will not be attempting another appointment with her as this is completely ridiculous and dangerous for a therapist to not be reliable and blame her clients for her mistakes.
