Talk about an oasis in the desert! I cannot say enough good things about this quirky little café and store. If you are a coffee snob like me, this is the place for you. The staff is friendly, the service is excellent, and the coffee is on point! They have everything you could want coffee wise and more. My wife had an strawberry vanilla Italian soda that she said was one of the best she's ever had. I had a vanilla latte with oat milk (hot) that was skillfully prepared and delicious. The only thing I cannot review at this time are the baked goods or the gelato; yes, gelato! But I wager they are top quality as well. Serving up delicious coffee with a heaping of KINDNESS! We absolutely loved stopping here on our roadtrip from Colorado to Texas for the holiday. It was during last week's Arctic Blast, but that didn't slow them down. We got the warmest welcome when we walked inside ~ greeted immediately with a bright shining smile and "Hello! How are you?" We saw on Yelp that they had 5 stars, so we thought this is the perfect local business to pop in for coffee and breakfast. Unfortunately, they do not cook up food anymore except for an assortment of pies and sweets. I wish it hadn't been 10am on a holiday week or I may have scooped up a few to try. They looked so darn good! As they made our coffee order, a latte and a breve (basically a latte with half n' half), we putts around the store. They had a collection of cute and cool things: candles, cards, mugs, soaps and so much more. We were in a bit of a haste with being hungry roadtrip travelers so we couldn't look for long but it'd be fun to go back when we had more time. While we headed out, I asked if there was a place they'd recommend for breakfast - an easy stop and pick up spot. They couldn't be happier to recommend another local business as the must-go place. My husband, who grew up in a similar small Texas town, really found this to be a cool moment and I'd agree. So after leaving their shop with one of THE BEST breves, we followed their driving instructions which led us to one of the THE BEST breakfasts! To say, we're incredibly grateful for Ballyhoo is an understatement. What a gem this place was! We got so lucky with this stop on our road trip. We were dying for some coffee and pastries and we hopped off to try out Ballyhoo. We didn't even know it was a super cute shop/boutique as well as a coffee shop. Loved all of the decor, accessories, clothing, etc they were selling in there. It was so cute! The coffee was divine. I got a simple latte with almond milk and the espresso flavor was really good. My parents got some pastries (pound cake and PB oat bar), and they were also delicious! Not enough yelp reviews for how lovely this place is! Traveling across the US from California , I am not in denial that I am what some might call a coffee snob. I stopped in since a fellow helper described the coffee was nice and the store was artsy. My boyfriend usually orders a regular drip house coffee and so this time was no different. He was pleasantly surprised that the black drip coffee was delicious as is. They must use good quality beans !! I ordered a creamy keto coffee and it was creamy and delicious. The choices of coffee drinks is absolutely amazing and I wish I was in town longer to try more. The service was so friendly and the adjoining store has such cool things. This is a must-stop for us when headed home from northern New Mexico before an overnight in Dallas. We think this would be a first-rate local coffee house anywhere, but never would have anticipated finding it in Childress. The coffee is excellent with a good choice of lactose-free milk options. Service is prompt and friendly. Restroom is clean and comfortable. They have expanded their food options. Lots of stuff in the store to look at while waiting for your coffee, some of it actually pretty interesting. All in all, the best stop you can make between Amarillo and Dallas/Fort Worth. read more

Stopped here on a road trip and well worth it! Best iced mocha I've had in a long time and adorable shop as well. Also dog friendly!

One cafe that is completely unique in its appearance from inside, its selection of items for sale, and coffee/tea. You can literally find anything here, though a lot of it is just for ambience. For example, there is a vintage washing machine outside. A stove that is being used as a table. Some deep freezers being used as storage. They also have unique pieces for purchase. There is no common theme here, you'll just have to look and something might click. The walls of the cafe are made with the same tin sheet that is used to make roofs. They have used flattened cardboard boxes to insulate the walls. Inside the bathroom you'll find newspaper clippings used as wallpaper. There is a urinal that is under a mantle. On the mantle are about 7 moisturizers that you can try. They have a very good selection of coffees and teas as well as flavored syrups making their selection endless. Their selection of cakes and cookies is also very appetizing, although we didn't try any. It's a nice place to stop if you are travelling from Dallas to Amarillo and beyond. read more

Driving from Dallas to Sante Fe via an overnight in Amarillo, so we had a lot of time on our hands on day 1 to stop in local places and browse/snack. Ballyhoo is one of our best small town finds in recent memory. Not only do they serve standout coffee, espresso, pie (Derby!!!) and scones (best wife ever had) they also have a huge higher end retail section with house accoutrements, clothes, some home furnishings, and odds and ends. Tearing my way across Texas, eager to get home to Albuquerque but knowing that I couldn't do it without a jolt of coffee, I spotted this place out on the left side of the road. It was all rustic shack looking, with an old metal table and chairs, book shelf, rack of vintage clothing - right out on the front porch. I thought, what the heck. What good is a road trip if all you see are the smashed bugs on your windshield? I went a little further and did a gorgeous J turn in front of a local cop. He just sat there and admired my form. "Awesome stunt driving" isn't against the law in this part of the land of the free! The ladies inside the shop were sweet and made a perfect latte. I looked at the pie and thought, hell yes! I got the buttermilk pie because I don't see it outside of Texas very much. They did it right and didn't have it in the fridge where the crust could get all dried out. Cool but not warm, the filling was heavenly and the crust was flaky and perfect. Between that sugar hit and the latte I was rocket powered! I got back in my car and squeeled out of there, spitting gravel, and waved to Sheriff Roscoe one last time. He was a little intimidated by me, I suppose, but he nodded in a congenial way. Such an adorable coffee/gift shop with the sweetest young lady working there. She is super nice & helpful! The shop had cute things for sale. I bought a coffee mug for $13, a Puravida bracelet for $8, and a couple of vintage postcards. I also got a caramel Frappuccino that was very tasty & hit the spot on an extremely hot day. Then I saw the macarons and got so excited. I splurged on 6 of them for my long car ride back to Denver. They were AWFUL - very old, stale, crunchy, and a huge disappointment. They never should have been sold. Wish I could give them five stars but I spent a lot of money on those macarons! I feel generous giving them 4 stars. Keep your money and skip the macarons! read more

Bucket list must-do for anyone and everyone: Roadtrip across Texas. Stop in Childress. Get a coffee and peruse this quirky, cute little coffee-antique-shop-combo. Ballyhoo is the kind of place that makes all these tiny Texas towns such a neat experience. The coffee is always on point, and you can find something for pretty much anyone in their shop. Our most recent trip happened to fall on a "Shop Small" sale weekend so my adorable little serving pitcher and pig salt & pepper shakers were 25% off. Basically you can find anything here that you'd find in Magnolia Market except it's 60% cheaper (aka reasonable) and you won't get tackled by a mob of people fighting over a bundle of raw cotton. The ladies that run this place are so much fun, and their personality comes out in each and every detail of the store (you'll know what I mean when you visit). read more

Friendly staff and clean and neat coffee shop. Cute little place right off the highway going through the middle of Childress. Got the iced Caramel Machiatto and boyfriend got the hot Butterbeer that was specific for the fall menu and we were both equally satisfied. Considering my boyfriend doesn't like coffee. The cute little shop attached has lots of cute stuff as well. It's coming up on Christmas so they have plenty of beautiful Christmas decorations. I got a candle and it smells wonderful! I ordered now two Carmel macchiatos that could put Starbucks out of business, my husband had to take my credit card before we walked in because EVERYTHING was cute, and most stuff was on sale. We were driving through town and decided this would be the perfect place to stop for an afternoon pick-me-up. Right away I loved the store and all of the adorable things they sell! My husband and I spent some time perusing while we waited for our coffee to be made. Although everything they sell is cute and I would have loved to buy it all, the items seemed a bit overpriced. I was a little disappointed in our coffee. My husband ordered a latte which he said was not drinkable and would not even finish. I ordered a mocha frappuccino and it was maybe on par with Starbucks. Not horrible but definitely not exceptional. I would be willing to give this place another try for coffee if we were ever in the area, but our first experience was mediocre. This is a fun little store. They a bunch of everything. Lots of kitchen goodies and lots of cute gifts. I go here mainly for the coffee. They serve Seattle's Best Coffee and is definitely the only place in town to get coffee. Whenever friends from out of town visit, I take them here. For the crazy ones that have gone out exploring by themselves and tried coffee elsewhere, well, they soon learned to trust what I say when it comes to coffee. Stopped on my way through town and got a coffee. The coffee was very good and the shop is cute. However, the staff was very cold and not welcoming whatsoever. The person that took my order did not acknowledge me for a good minute or two and all she had to say was "Um, did you want something?", then I tried telling her thank you for my coffee and she just slammed it down and turned around ignoring my thank you. I am sad to say I will not be back, it will be worth the wait for Wichita Falls to get coffee next time. read more

Coffee was NOT good. And crazy expensive! Not at all the strength and flavor one would expect. Keto coffee---you do know that is with butter and mtc oil, right?
