Edward (owner) was helpful and accommodating regarding balloon fills and pickup. His quote on helium fills for outside balloons is very reasonable. I hope to update with photos after pickup. Support small businesses. read more

Needed some balloons for a birthday party and decided to look for a small local business to support. I gave them a call and set up an appointment with the owner, who is extremely friendly! Make sure you call first as I think the owner isn't always at the store. Got 8 balloons for $20, which is pretty reasonable! He has a big selection to choose from too. Highly recommend Balloon World if you need balloons in the koreatown area!! read more

Great service and communication and we always love the custom balloons he puts together for us!

Needed to get some balloons for my grandma's birthday and went to balloon world for the first time. Mr. Kim made two beautiful balloon bouquets for us. Normally I don't write yelp reviews, but I felt this business really deserved it. When I arrived at the birthday venue, the valet was trying to help me by bringing in one of the balloon bouquets and accidentally popped the top balloon! The bouquets looked off being unsymmetrical :( but Mr. Kim was so wonderful and was able to provide a replacement balloon! He went above and beyond. THANK YOU MR. KIM!! My grandmother loved them and everyone commented on how beautiful they were :) read more

I decided to get balloons for myself this year and found this place on Yelp. It happened to be really close to where I live so I dropped by one day. So glad I did! The owner was super helpful. I needed the balloons for a Sunday, and though he does not normally work Sundays, he was willing to have me come in Sunday morning to pick them up. I just gave him my budget and color preference, and trusted him with the creative process. Come Sunday, I stopped by, and he had made this beautiful arrangement! It was far bigger and more beautiful than I imagined (he did say he added more balloons). I was floored. He even helped put the balloons in my car! A couple weeks later and two of the balloons are still floating. So happy with my experience at Balloon World! read more

We bought an assortment of rainbow colored balloons and a number 4 balloon for our twin daughter's 4th birthday. I picked them up Sunday morning at 8:30 AM as instructed and the owner put them in the back of my SUV. When I got home and pulled them out, the #4 was deflated. My wife called the owner to see if we could come get another or receive a refund for the faulty balloon and he replied, "No, it was fine when I gave it to your husband!" Instead of giving us a simple credit of $12 for the balloon or replacing it, he's lost a once loyal customer and gained a 1-star review. Bad business, bad businessman, poor customer service, the new triple threat. Next time we'll be going elsewhere. Stay away. read more

It was my nephew's high school graduation yesterday and I wanted to get him some nice balloons. I went to the Walgreens near my house and, to my horror, they were sold out of everything graduation-related. So I googled the nearest party stores, called a couple places up, guess what, they were sold out too. As I started panicking, I came across Balloon World, I called them up, and the man on the phone said he has graduation balloon in stock. I was like a drowning person seeing land, so I quickly got an Uber over there. The shop was very small, old and probably not the most well-lit shop in the world, but fear not. The warmth and hospitality of the shop owner just made me feel welcome and at ease right away. He's Korean but speaks English fairly well with a little accent. He gave me a selection of graduation-themed balloons, all of which were very cute. I selected 2, then asked him to add a couple more normal balloons to make it into a balloon bouquet. He filled up the 6 balloons with helium and made it into a nice little bouquet with a weight (so the balloons don't float away), all in a matter of minutes. He will gladly load it up into your car if you ask. (You should ask him to help, because as I found out the hard way, trying to load helium balloons into the trunk of a car is like herding cats, they go every which way and if you get one under control, another one will pop out). While he was preparing the balloons, I got a chance to walk around his shop and check out some of the other merchandise. He has every balloons for pretty much any occasion. And not only balloons, but also small gifts and knickknacks , some of them are very cute (albeit a little dusty). If you're ever at a loss for a small unique gift for someone, I bet you can find something that would pique your interest here. I couldn't recommend this place enough, especially if you need balloons for any occasion. read more

10 STARS!!! I threw a birthday party for my friend and wanted to turn up the ambiance in the private dining room where it was all going down. I came in knowing only this...I wanted a two huge bouquets, and I wanted a WOW. Not only did he deliver...HE DELIVERED BIG TIME!! He delivered the bouquets to the Four Seasons and set them up in the private party area..on a day that his shop is generally closed. Everyone loved them. I cannot recommend Balloon World more! Mr. Kim has helped me with balloons in the past but when I needed something even more special for a last minute birthday he delivered beyond what I could have imagined! He made a beautiful balloon bouquet that was such a memorable surprise for the birthday girl. He was even generous enough to make me an arrangement that would have cost way more than what I paid for and had it all packaged so it could fit in my smaller car. Great communication, very talented and flexible! Thank you again! read more

Super fast, helpful, friendly. Did a great job with my last minute order. Will post pics soon.

We hired Balloon World to do the decorations for our daughter's dol, and they transformed the plain restaurant room we were using into a very festive setting. We had no idea what we wanted initially, so they showed us some photo books of their work to give us some ideas. We ended up asking them to do a balloon arch over the front table decorated with flowers and music notes, with our daughter's name spelled out below with more music notes. They had clusters of colored balloons within clear balloons scattered throughout the room on tables as well as single balloons floating up by the ceiling. We didn't comparison shop so I can't judge where they fall in terms of price range, but I can say I have never been happier with a party vendor. The only downside? Cash only. read more

We bought our own balloons online and had them blown up here. I called in a few days before our party and the owner gentleman was very friendly and helpful. Why isn't there anywhere to buy balloons/party supplies between Beverly Hills and Downtown? Thankfully Yelp pulled through and I found Edward and Balloon World. He had those giant gold/silver letter balloons that I was looking for. Pricey at $12 a balloon, but I had no other choice. Call to make sure that they're still open before you swing by.. sometimes they'll close up shop early if there are no patrons. Edward will also help you load your balloons into your car-- whew! Parking: No parking along Olympic (they're located on the south side of the street) so park in the neighborhood on Gramercy and walk over. Easy peasy. read more

Edward is truly AMAZING. an artist with balloons who was also so accommodating and helpful and generally great. A friend of ours had a baby and we wanted to put balloons in front of her house to surprise her since we wouldn't be able to see her ... not only did Edward take the job on very short notice but he was also very nice and flexible about holding a time frame while we were trying to confirm what time she'd be released from the hospital to come home. I highly recommend Balloon World. I had to place a pretty big order with them for a graduation party that my boss was hosting and they made it happen. Edward and Lauren were so helpful. As soon as I walked in, Lauren sat down with me to figure out which balloons would work best for the indoor/outdoor areas of the event. They were in constant communication to make sure they got every little detail right for the balloon arrangements. They also delivered and set up the balloons just in time for the party. I suggest calling ahead of time to make sure they are there when you arrive. I look forward to doing business with them again. read more

I just hired Balloon World for my daughter's 1st Birthday party. The owners, Lauren & Edward are SUPER nice and friendly and we're very willing to do all they can do get you what you want. Compared to other balloon places in Los Angeles, the price they quoted was a steal! The balloons turned out FANTASTIC on the day of and I couldn't have been happier with their work. Holy moly! Is it normal to price mylar balloons at $10 each? I mean, I know I don't shop for balloons much but that seemed like a bit much to me. We went to buy some balllons for a baby shower. Ended up buying 18 regular balloons ($1/piece) and two large mylar balloons (one was a face of a baby and the other a baby bottle) and they cost $10/piece. And stupid me! I was feeling so frazzled that day (was running late and in a hurry) that I assumed it would be around...I dunno $4-5 and didn't ask the price. Next thing I know our total comes out to around $50. Just for some stinkin' balloons that nobody even cared about! :( I got home and my mom was like, "Oh you shouldn't have gone there! They're waaaaay overpriced!" :( I guess that's what I get for doing things last minute and not talking to my mom first. Should've know that my mom, aka The Queen of KTown, would've known of a better deal somewhere. Once again I'm reminded...umma knows best. :) read more
