Needed to get some balloons for my grandma's birthday and went to balloon world for the first time. Mr. Kim made two beautiful balloon bouquets for us. Normally I don't write yelp reviews, but I felt this business really deserved it. When I arrived at the birthday venue, the valet was trying to help me by bringing in one of the balloon bouquets and accidentally popped the top balloon! It was my nephew's high school graduation yesterday and I wanted to get him some nice balloons. I went to the Walgreens near my house and, to my horror, they were sold out of everything graduation-related. So I googled the nearest party stores, called a couple places up, guess what, they were sold out too. As I started panicking, I came across Balloon World, I called them up, and the man on the phone said he has graduation balloon in stock. I was like a drowning person seeing land, so I quickly got an Uber over there. The shop was very small, old and probably not the most well-lit shop in the world, but fear not. The warmth and hospitality of the shop owner just made me feel welcome and at ease right away. He's Korean but speaks English fairly well with a little accent. He gave me a selection of graduation-themed balloons, all of which were very cute. I selected 2, then asked him to add a couple more normal balloons to make it into a balloon bouquet. He filled up the 6 balloons with helium and made it into a nice little bouquet with a weight (so the balloons don't float away), all in a matter of minutes. He will gladly load it up into your car if you ask. (You should ask him to help, because as I found out the hard way, trying to load helium balloons into the trunk of a car is like herding cats, they go every which way and if you get one under control, another one will pop out). While he was preparing the balloons, I got a chance to walk around his shop and check out some of the other merchandise. He has every balloons for pretty much any occasion. And not only balloons, but also small gifts and knickknacks , some of them are very cute (albeit a little dusty). If you're ever at a loss for a small unique gift for someone, I bet you can find something that would pique your interest here. I couldn't recommend this place enough, especially if you need balloons for any occasion. read more

Why isn't there anywhere to buy balloons/party supplies between Beverly Hills and Downtown? Thankfully Yelp pulled through and I found Edward and Balloon World. He had those giant gold/silver letter balloons that I was looking for. Pricey at $12 a balloon, but I had no other choice. Call to make sure that they're still open before you swing by.. sometimes they'll close up shop early if there are no patrons. Edward will also help you load your balloons into your car-- whew! Parking: No parking along Olympic (they're located on the south side of the street) so park in the neighborhood on Gramercy and walk over. Easy peasy. read more

We hired Balloon World to do the decorations for our daughter's dol, and they transformed the plain restaurant room we were using into a very festive setting. We had no idea what we wanted initially, so they showed us some photo books of their work to give us some ideas. We ended up asking them to do a balloon arch over the front table decorated with flowers and music notes, with our daughter's name spelled out below with more music notes. They had clusters of colored balloons within clear balloons scattered throughout the room on tables as well as single balloons floating up by the ceiling. We didn't comparison shop so I can't judge where they fall in terms of price range, but I can say I have never been happier with a party vendor. The only downside? Cash only. read more
