Let's start with the con ~ $10 for parking that I don't recall being mentioned when I bought my ticket. However once you get past that, you're in for a good time. Took my sister in love who was visiting from out of town to do something different. However it wasn't long that we were two big kids having a blast in a museum. I can honestly say, we stayed longer than I had anticipated as we were just having a great time. I will say, the disco "joy" ball had me in tears because having the joy sucked out of you is a real thing. The butterfly swing was beautiful, we helped create art by swinging the big ball with chalk around the room, the wind balloon was at the top of the list however the ball pit had us in tears and had me wondering who was coming to save me. Seriously, laughs were had, memories were made and this was a great visit!

We went during spring break, on a Tuesday. Our timed ticket was for 11am, right as it opened. They have private fenced parking area that costs $10, you pay inside. Since we were some of the first people in that day, the place was spotless! The staff were so friendly and answered all our questions! It took us about an hour and a half to see all the exhibits. The kids LOVED how interactive the exhibits were. The adults thought they were absolutely beautiful. It was well organized and not crowded at all. The timed tickets help with crowd control. At the end there is a snack bar and small gift shop. Overall, it was a great experience!

This was such an awesome experience! It is enjoyable for children and adults alike. Tons of photo opportunities were scattered throughout. Most of the art was interactive. I got to be a big kid in the big pool of balls: it was the childhood fantasy that I never knew I had. Because I love butterflies, the butterfly room with the floor pillows was so awesome. If we had not had more things on our itinerary for the day, I would have stayed in the butterfly room and the ball pit much longer. Pricing was great. The employees we did interact with were professional and helpful. There was tons of parking. However it was $10 per car.

This was one of the coolest art installations I e ever seen! We had such a blast and met some really great people. If you're looking for something to do with friends, family, or even on your own...definitely recommend checking this out while it's in Dallas! Felt like the entire event was well organized. We had a scheduled arrival time, checked in promptly and never felt like the crowds were too big but things just kept moving. There were some real cool exhibits that clash fun, imagination and art. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun date night. Parking is $10 and they take only card--no cash.

Balloon Museum was such a fun and creative date night idea my partner came up with, and honestly she nailed it. The moment we walked in, it felt like stepping into a dream you didn't know you needed. Now, to keep it real -- the location isn't in the best neighborhood. But they had active parking attendants keeping everything organized, visible, and secure. Parking runs ten bucks, so plan for that. Once you get inside, the whole experience shifts in a good way. Check-in was a breeze. They run everything by timed entry, and they do it right. It kept the crowds controlled, the rooms open, and gave us space to interact with each installation without rushing or waiting. We even got clean solo photos without strangers in the background -- rare for spots like this. Inside, the place was spotless and well organized. The flow from room to room felt intentional and smooth, like they wanted you to actually enjoy the art instead of shuffle through it. Every exhibit had a write-up explaining the artist, the idea, or the meaning behind the sculpture, which made the experience even better. You're not just seeing something cool -- you're understanding the story behind it. The interactive pieces were the real highlight. Some moved on their own, others reacted when you touched or walked near them, and all of them pulled you into the moment. It's the kind of museum where you're part of the art, not just observing it. We laughed, played with the displays, watched pieces light up, and just enjoyed being big kids for the night. It was immersive, unique, and honestly one of those date nights that sticks with you. If you're looking for something different, memorable, and creative, this spot absolutely delivers. My partner picked the perfect place.

It was so much fun! The exhibits were fun and creative! You can be there for hours!!! We had a blast! There's even a parking lot and parking is only 10$!

This was an amazing experience and it really brought out the inner child in me. They offered more than I expected, and so I was really surprised once I got there and saw all the different interactive rooms.

The balloon installations here are a lot of fun and the timed entry tickets are typically available. It's not in a high traffic, familiar location but there was plenty of parking in the early afternoon. There are colorful balloon souvenirs also. We had a great time and maybe supported some artists from other countries while wandering through this collection of exhibits.

Your DMA cards will be mailed to you in four weeks, in the mean time, use that printed receipt for everything. We renewed our membership this weekend April 2026 and went to see the Samurai Collection. Metalwork is not a favorite of mine, but I was still fascinated by the stories presented on the placards throughout the exhibit and I certainly appreciated the beautiful, intricate craftsmanship presented in each piece. I didn't realize that the Samurai swords and armor had been banned from production in Japan, so the metal workers pivoted and learned to become artisans. They started to make and repair metal embellishments, lanterns, and incense burners for the numerous temples in the country. Many of the items in this collection were from Kyoto and Nara, both places my husband and I visited in November 2009. The full body armor was fascinating. Little pieces of leather were coated in metal, painted, and woven tightly together to form a moveable, but protective layer over the body. The workmanship was exquisite. The exhibit had a few short videos you could watch to learn about the work. I especially liked the 30 second clip about the process of making cloisonné. These vases are beautiful and the process to make each one is detailed and meticulous. Kids could collect a postcard-sized scavenger hunt near the entrance and use that to stay in engaged throughout the visit. At the end, there was a sign on the wall with the answer key pictures showing which art pieces help the intricate designs they were looking for. The DMA has a permanent collection that includes a variety of art from around the globe, as well as multiple special exhibits throughout the year. Everyone is bound to find something that delights them and inspires conversation and wonder. Worth a visit!
