Nice Bar in the back. A bit intimidating if you are not from round here! if you get my drift... but it's an okay bar.

The place is dimly light throughout, so whether you come here daytime or night, you get the same experience... Candles make up most of the ambience in here, very inviting! Staff are always friendly, greeting you with a smile and always happy to accommodate you whether it's an intimate table for 2 or a group booking. There is often live music, whether it's a piano player or live singer/band it makes for a nice drink spot at the weekends. Also great for a pre or post dinner drinks! Place offers a full bar so you can get all the usuals you'd expect of a bar however this place is also doing some fantastic things with their cocktail menu... Some interesting and very unique drink concoctions plus let's not go with calling out their unusual presentations, I just got served a gin cocktail in a bathtub with a rubber duck... Was called Bathtub Gin Time which is a serving for 2, oh my it was yummy and refreshing plus topped with a lavender and rose foam, it literally smelled like a freshly run bath tub! I love to visit here and always recommend it to my friends, am excited to tick off another drink from their cocktail menu very soon! Build your own Mimosa sounds appealing, so that might be the next one.

Situated at the side of dundrum town centre, it's a really cool bar/nightclub that always has a great buzz in it. It's great if you want to chill out with a few drinks mid-shop if you're maxing the credit card inside the mall, or even if you're heading out on a big night out. I regularly meet friends on a Thursday night here - after a look round the shops it's nice to unwind with a few glasses of wine and if you're hungry they have a bar menu too. I highly recommend their burger...so juicy! They also do a carvery lunch all week too. Then if you really want a mad night out you can venture upstairs. The club is a little on the small side but it has a good little dancefloor and outside smoking area.

I am not a fan of this pub at night and i do not like the night club at all, its too small and im not sure if i like the type of people who go there either. the toilets are not bad in here by the way, nice and spacious!

There are great little nooks and corners that allows for intimacy amongst guests, as well as long tables that can accomodate larger groups. Also, this pub has an excellent beer garden, complete with heaters and a small fountain. The carvery lunch is from 12-3pm, is very popular here, and at times it can be difficult getting a seat for lunch. There is also a large parking lot adjacent to the pub, which allows for plenty of parking, and it's free. The pub is very accessible by bus (the 17 and the 44 stop directly in front of the pub) and by the luas (Dundrum stop), which is about a five minute walk away and can be seen from the bridge of the luas. However, this pub does have a reputation for being a bit of an "old man's pub," which is a shame, since it is actually quite a friendly and delightful place. I don't mind it being known as such, since I consider it a pleasant little secret where I can get away from the usual hectic bar scene in Dublin. Please make note: The map shown here is not accurate. Uncle Tom's Cabin is located directly on Dundrum Road right next to the Topaz Petrol Station which is also easily visible from the Dundrum stop on the luas.

I am vegetarian and so ordered the "coach house curry" with vegetables which was an astonishing €20.95. This curry comprised of exactly the same veg as my mum had on her plate mixed in what tasted like instant powder curry sauce on top of some rice, the type of generic brown curry sauce you get on chips after a rake of pints. This is the signature "Coach House Curry".4 hours later its still repeating on me. When paying the bill I commented that the curry was extremely bad value with cooked veg mixed with packet curry sauce for €21, the barmaid commented "well I like it". I grew up in the area and its decades since i was in the Coach, and may be again afer that experience. Terrible terrible food experience which was grossly overpriced.

They have big screens too if you want to watch football and there is usually a good atmosphere for the bigger games. The Sunday carvery in here is not particularly good in my opinion, I only had it once but I never had it again purely because it was dry and tough and not very tasty the first time I had it. It is a very local pub for those living in ballinteer and you will always get your regulars in here but you don't get an unwelcoming sense when you come in like you would in other local pubs.

The decor in here is not great either, old dingy and dirty looking, not somewhere the ten second rule would work when you drip some food on the table! We downed our drinks hastily at this stop, I would like to say that I will never return but if a Luas challenge is repeated this pub is unfortunately the only one available for the windy arbour stop! However, it's a bar, and it's cheap, so that bit of aesthetic downfall is easy to overlook. The UCD Student Bar was no more than a three minute walk from where I lived on campus. It was beautiful. While it's not the nicest, fanciest, or most captivating of bars, there isn't anything wrong with it. It was always nice to stop by for a couple drinks on a weeknight when my friends and I didn't feel like going too far. They had decent drink specials from time to time, and a couple times a week, they'd usually have some sort of event going on or band playing. This is a fine place to go if you're studying at UCD, but I wouldn't really recommend for anyone to make a trip to UCD just to check out the student bar.

It's a spacious place with pool tables, TVs, food and drink, usually offering cheap draft, but as it is always Fosters that's on special offer (yuk!), it doesn't make much difference to the wallet. The bar lacks all charm and I wouldn't go there unless I was in the area, but it has served as a great venue to discuss group-assignments (ideas somehow flow more easily when you have a pint in hand). The bar occasionally hosts live concerts as well. I had a great time watching Digitalism over a year ago, well, it was a horrible venue for that kind of a gig and the sound was awful, but the crazyness on the dance floor and all the young students making out in every corner of the place was a hilarious experience. I also remember that the tickets were way cheaper than you can expect in town.
