The area around this Greene County treasure, between Yellow Springs and Xenia, is so beautiful, especially in the fall, that it should be on everyone's "must see" list if they're in area, or even worth a special trip!! There's a small parking area, and if you get a good map (google was helpful, surprisingly!!) a wonderful hiking/biking destination as well. Make the time for this one, and its wonderful "cousin" in Yellow Springs, Richard P. Eastman Covered Bridge (review coming soon...)!!

The budge no long has traffic going across it, but you can walk across it to get views from both sides. There also is nice signage, including the historical maker. I was there during the winter time but imagine it is very nice during all seasons.

It was a stop that was unplanned but happy we found it! - air conditioned nice restrooms with changing table - parking is near the playground - drinking fountain outside and inside with a water bottle fill station. - splash pad for cooling off May-Sept - bike trails nearby - covered shelter to relax It has a playground that is hot, hot, hot but your kids can cook off at the splash pad adjacent to the playground. It has a neat little train but you can't go into it at all. Fun to look at and for photo ops. Parking lot is close enough to see your kids from the car. There's a porta potty next to the splash pad right now or you can walk to a nearby very new updated building with facilities. I will add the photos of the building and bathrooms. The building is now used as a bathroom so it's a bike trail rest stop. It seems clean. Pick up some brochures about what to do around here. There's lots you can get to by using the bike trail.

The Wright Brothers constructed a launch pad for their aircraft and managed to circle this field for up-to 30 minutes. The site adjacent is now a gun range, and an airport where aeronautical engineering has become classified. However, it's pretty amazing to come here and soak up the history. The flowers and fields are also beautiful, but don't go around picking them. That will get you fined.

One of the signs says it is the world's first airport and I liked that description. It is a beautiful meadow filled with a wide variety of wild flowers. There is a parking area with a trail, or you can follow the road to get to where the majority of the placards with historic information are located. (although there isn't really a place to park in that area). The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that it can really use some TLC. The signage is a bit faded and the replica structure could use some tidying up and some pieces painted or replaced.

The campground is not exactly wooded, but is filled with big trees, giving it lots of shade and a bit of a wooded feel, which we like. The parking pad at our site was nice and level and big enough for our truck and trailer. The picnic table and fire pit did the trick. The campground was really noisy until exactly 10pm when everything fell silent. It was quiet until 6:30am, so sleeping was easy-- minus the yells of wild animals that fought nearby. The bathrooms were impressively clean! At least the family and women's room. I didn't shower there, but will remember for next time how clean they were. The camping fee was comparable to anywhere else we've camped. Will be back!

The trails are clean and well kept. If hiking isn't your thing, there are lots of areas to play frisbee, let your kids run around, or have a picnic in the shade. It's about a 45 minute drive for us, so we don't go often but when we do go once or twice a year, we always enjoy this beautiful park.

What a fantastic time we had taking a tour of James Galloway's log cabin, as well as the restored Victorian mansion with period decor, the Titanic exhibit, railroad display, and step back in time to the 1800's scenes, all at the Greene County Historical Society! This old quarry has been "repurposed" and is a great spot to "get away from it all" without going too far. A good-sized lake, a few easy to moderate trails (the rocky lake overlooks are nice!!) and plenty of parking are what you'll find. No, not the best trail markings/maps, but if I figured it out, anyone can!! A great spot to discover in Greene County, I'll be back!!

We went to Oaks Quarry Park to go rock hounding. It is an old limestone quarry. They have two…read moredesignated area where you can collect rocks and fossils. There are signs that tell you that you can collect in those areas. They have several trails you can walk on. The place used to be very beautiful, but unfortunately people have sprayed graffiti on alot of the signs and rocks. However, if you look past that, you can still find beauty. It is amazing that there is life in the midst of all the rocks and dead areas. It is a very peaceful place. I would not call this place handicap accessible. Even the paths are very rocky. I would highly recommend you wear hiking boots. We wore our tennis shoes not knowing how rocky the place was. Next time, we are wearing our hiking boots. They have two port-a-pots, no picnic area. I do recommend the place.

I remember being dazzled by the waterfalls and entranced by the pine forest. I'm now 70 years old and live in Colorado, but make a point to revisit this majestic place whenever I return to visit family in the Dayton area.

I went down the stone stairs ... they were slippery but was glad i still could manage them. They have changed things ... added wooden pathways and more water at the bottom of the stairs. I'd hoped walk to both waterfalls. But wearing new shoes and saw it was muddy. So just headed back up the stairs to the car. They have bird feeders at the buildings. Nice place to hike. Parking is 10 bucks.

The park has a small free museum but they were not open yet when we were there. I went with Kayla and the kids, Saige & Deacon. Saige enjoyed checking out the signs and reading them. The park is very nice with several picnic tables but no grills. Lots of parking. Easy to find with GPS or just watch for the signs to the memorial.

The memorial and the grounds are the stars of this location, but there is a small museum as well…read more You can also watch a video (but it is the same video they play at the other Wright National Park site). There is also a Junior Ranger program you can participate in. I did expect there to be a bit more to the museum, but I suppose a lot of what they could cover was already covered at the other interpretive site. The memorial itself has an amazing view of the prairie field (and surrounding area) and there is a great deal of interpretive signage throughout the area. The parking lot is to the side of the building and there seems to be an ample amount of space. A great place to visit and learn just a little more about the Wright Brothers.
