Nightly performances begin at 4:30 and run every half an hour throughout the property. The best place to see the show is near the giant Christmas tree. Then you can turn around to see the rest of the lights in Faneuil Hall blink too. The show isn't too long - enough time to have fun, but not have children get bored. I watched the show with a group of adults and we enjoyed it as well. It's definitely worth checking out while you're in the Faneuil Hall area!

There was The Disney Moana Ice Sculpture & The Ice Sofa which was really Cool on the other side. They let you sit on the Ice Sofa. Don't worry you sit down on a cushion so you don't freeze or stick to the surface. The colors are blue & pink. REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR PHONE OR CAMERA WITH YOU. This review will not enlighten you). We did not know what to expect at Car Talk Plaza since Tom & Ray's retirement. We found the odd shaped building (thanks Yelp!), with the odd shaped elevator, and took it to the third floor expecting at best to find a locked door. However, after tapping on the door, we tried it and it miraculously opened! There was absolutely nobody in the office! Evidently Doug "the subway fugitive, not a slave to fashion, bongo boy frogman" Berman and "John 'Bugsy' Lawlor were not yet back from the Sliced Ham, Razor Clam, Cherry Jam, Rack of Lamb, Grand Slam. We thought for a moment about having a romantic interlude to the sounds of "Are We There Yet Mama?" by Kelly Clark and the Wild River Band (show number 200102). However, we became consumed inspecting all the interesting gifts and memorabilia throughout the office. Once we were sated, we signed the guest book, put a pin in the Visitor's Map, grabbed an autographed postcard (or two), and proceeded back to the odd shaped elevator and back to Harvard Square. At first it seems like a celebration of local quirk and kitsch, this 45 minute trolley tour of the…read moreside streets and neighborhoods of Somerville, showcasing the various incandescent manifestations of overzealous holiday enthusiasm. But there's also something a bit more ominous at work here. It's like the Cold War never ended, just became condensed, localized, and about trying to out-gaudy your neighbor, rather than blow them off the map. Or maybe it is about blowing stuff up - fuses, switch boxes, the power of an entire city. Turning down certain streets, you realize that a sort of Hatfields and McCoys type turf battle is being waged, with Christmas lights as the bullets. Houses directly across from one another, annually upping the ante, trying to blot out each other even as they blot out the night sky with the wattage of a billions suns enveloping their homes. In fact, are there even homes there, underneath the blinding riot of colored lights, plastic Santas, blowup Frosty's and life sized Nativities? I don't know. There are certain houses which bear more resemblance to the mothership at the end of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, than anything built by man. You owe it to yourself to do this once, at least. The tour guides will rattle you off mini-bios of the main players, as well as the staggering amounts of their utility bills. There must be better ways you can spend a 1000 bucks in a month. Thereafter, just use the map they give you to do your own tour at a more leisurely pace, so you can truly gape in awe that these man made wonders of the world deserve. N.b. The trolley tries to make tight turns, the tour guides are making jokes, and everyone's just excited to be there. I love the carpenter's house who adds one decoration to his set-up a year. And the guy who dresses up as santa to wave out the door to the trolley....I'd been living in for Somerville for 2 years before I took this tour and this tour really brought Somerville to life for me. To hear the neighborly stories and tidbits....and go down some of the streets I'd never drive down myself. Even if you can't make it one year, at least pick up the self-tour map so you can go check-out the cool houses yourself until the following year! When we couldn't make it one year, we picked up the map every year and will check out a couple every weekend.

This is a pretty good bridge for a walk being that it is well over two thousand feet long…read more It's also good for a run and if you are into bicycling there is a bicycle lane on the bridge so you can ride safely over it. If you're driving over the bridge during rush hour traffic it can get a little backed up but for the most part traffic moves pretty smoothly going from one end to the other. This is the bridge that connects Boston to Cambridge so if you are doing a walk along the bridge you can get some gorgeous views of the Boston skyline and MIT. I have walked over this bridge many times and I always make it a point to stop for a break every now and then during the walk so I can take in the views. Anytime you can walk over this bridge during a sunset is definitely a bonus!

It was the perfect time too because the sun was starting to set. Walked across the bridge and then stopped to admire the colors in the sky. Stunningly beautiful views! Not only did I have the perfect sunset, but the city views were amazing too. The skyline glows at night! If you're someone who enjoys scenic vistas, then you will definitely appreciate what the Harvard Bridge has to offer. The walk across the bridge is pretty delightful as well. There will be other people and of course cars crossing, but it still has this element of peace to it. Maybe I was just too entranced by the sunset to pay attention to anything or anyone else. I did notice that other people stopped and watched the sunset too and took several pictures. I'm guessing that this is a popular spot for it. It felt extremely safe to maneuver even during the night. When in Boston, you're probably gonna have to cross this bridge at some point to reach Cambridge. You might as well make it a point to take a nice little stroll over the Harvard Bridge while you're here. I'd say that it's worth it and so would my pictures too.

There are lots of connections to the surrounding neighborhood and it's very pleasant to walk along the trail to and from the train. Also great for recreation, the trail is busy with dog walkers, joggers, and families on the weekends. The stretch between Davis Square and Porter Square is particularly active and is bordered by oldest homes which are colorfully painted - very pretty. There is also a funky art installation just before you enter Davis Square. If you're going for a stroll, it's nice to stop in Davis for a coffee or ice cream at one of the cafes there. The tail end near Alewife tends to be quieter, but it connects with the high school athletic fields, which is convenient. There is also a small playground off the trail where it intersects with Hancock Ave.

Especially the end all the way towards Davis Square, there are dirty needles all over the ground everywhere you look on the sides of the path with blood soaked gauze from people using drugs and discarding their biohazards all over the path, forgetting the fact that there's trash cans all along the path. I walk my dog along the path and have to constantly watch out for both her and I and where we're walking and what's on the ground because of how disgustingly dangerous it is to step on something like this.

One of them makes great acai bowls and perfect Caldo de Cana and incredible Sucos straight from Brazil, whereas the other right next door has some of the best Brazilian buffet food you'll ever try including most of the stuff in Brazil. When we first exited the T-stop we were amazed how lively and fun the square was on a Thursday night! Lots of good eateries around, stores, friendly locals you can start a conversation with while waiting at a stop light. A band was playing in a parking lot near by for locals. Sommerville Theater is right there. Tufts University in the vicinity. They also have events, festivals all year round. A Bostonian friend told me that the area wasn't as safe years ago, it didn't have a good reputation, but things have changed a lot since. Davis Square is a very cute, charming part of town, but a tad confusing to orient yourself with many intersections and streets around. We got used to it fast. Safe, cool, hip area, lots to do around. It was a good home base for our trip.

The only one statue I saw with a bib was the Democratic Donkey by old city hall. Makes me wonder how many statues in the city does Boston put bibs on during marathon weekend.

For that reason, this statue holds a special place in my heart (as I'm sure it is for thousands more like me who love his literature). It's a beautifully designed bronze sculpture created by Stefanie Rocknak in 2014. It is located at the Edgar Allan Poe Square. As he was originally from Boston, it seems a fitting tribute to his memory.

Great restored historic house, nice cobblestone streets, everything is well maintained and elegant. Isabella Stewart Gardner used to live here, you can see her older house, it has a plaque on it. It borders Boston Common and the beautiful Esplanade! If you have time while visiting Boston, definitely stroll on the streets of Beacon Hill. You'll get a better sense of the city. There are museums around, you can take a tour or created yours like I did!

You can see the original cobblestone ( uneven rocks). Be careful while walking on the rocks. They are very uneven. Use the mini sidewalk. It is so beautiful! Beautiful lamps and of course the brick buildings. Make your stop here when you are in Boston. Highly recommended.
