Stunning views of the city and Boston harbor await you here. The Freedom trail inadvertently sent me here after I noticed that I kind of lost the trail. But, what a great mistake it was! I ended up crossing over the Congress street bridge and it led me here. Although it's not as popular as some of Boston's other well known districts, there's actually quite a bit on this side of town. You can find tons of restaurants, shops, museums and several local parks in this area. It's an awesome place to embark on a leisurely city stroll and to take in the views as you wander aimlessly along the clean streets. There's a cute waterfront park that has amazing views of the Boston Tea Party museum the Boston skyline. I can only imagine how stunning Fort Point is at night because it's super stunning during the daytime. The photo ops are endless. Even though this area isn't super popular, it's a nice place to explore when in Boston.

It's not really South Boston but it's not really the Waterfront either. THE GOOD: -The Children's Museum (I haven't been since I was a kid but the changes they've recently made to it look pretty impressive). - Open Studios and various other art exhibits in the Fort Point Artists' Community. - Dogs. Everywhere. There are at least a couple of very dog friendly buildings in this neighborhood. - The Channel (not to be confused with the former nightclub that was before my time). I mean the actual Channel. It's cool to see & smell part of the ocean daily. And there's a nice walking and/or running path. - It's walking distance to South Station and downtown. - Lucky's Lounge (for no other reason than when people have no idea where you live you can say "I live near Lucky's" and they know what you mean. - It's really close to the airport and the pike going West. Equally close to 93 North & South. - St. Alphonzo's Kitchen - the best food in the most low-key atmosphere. - Sagarino's market. This life saver of a market actually makes you happy to spend $5.00 on a gallon of milk. At least you didn't have to drive to a market to get it. - Parking. Since no one knows where it is, and there isn't much here, it's still pretty easy to find street parking. - Walking distance to the Waterfront. - The Achilles Project (I hesitated to put this in because I haven't actually been there yet but I've done a drive-by). And, it made the "new restaurants" Yelp newsletter today. Plus, I know at least one of the owners is a Fort point resident which I like. THE BAD: - The Gillette Factory. It so doesn't belong here. - Traffic on A St. - Congress St. Bridge has been closed for almost 2 years - will it even open again? - There are residential buildings everywhere but there's not a grocery store or coffee shop for miles. - The 7 am construction, even on weekends. - A 24 hour post-office nearby (the one that's always featured on the news where they interview people on the final day you can mail in your taxes) and those mail trucks have to park somewhere. How about a huge lot near my home? - More parking lots. There's a beautiful channel and views of the Boston skyline and it is all surrounded by parking lots. Mostly empty parking lots. - The nearest cup of coffee is a 10 minute walk away. I live here and I'm not leaving anytime soon. So, I'm choosing to believe the hype. This place has a lot of potential. There are a lot of projects in the works right now. This place is really going to be something some day. Yup, I keep telling myself this.

The Ted Williams Tunnel (TWT) was the first major tunnel connection constructed under Boston's Big Dig and was fabricated at the Baltimore Shipyard. It consists of 12 "binocular" shaped steel sections surrounded with concrete. When they were piecing the tunnel together the pieces were floated into place, lowered into the dredged area and joined. OK, that made it sound simple, but I'm sure the process was quite difficult, timely and pretty fascinating all at once. Cool huh? The tunnel opened in 1995 and was used for commercial traffic only at first and then eventually all public traffic could use it on holidays & weekends. Then in 2003 when a large portion of the Big Dig was completed on a portion of I-90 the TWT was opened to all traffic permanently. TWT is named after the former U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Boston Red Sox baseball player Ted Williams. The tunnel is 8,448 feet long and approximately 3,960 feet of this is under water. Just in case you're wondering...tolls are collected going both directions.

I mean... it's a tunnel…read more It gets you from one side of Boston Harbor to the other, and most of the time it does exactly what it's supposed to do. When traffic is moving, it's a quick, direct route to Logan and probably the easiest way across. I'll give it that. The problem is that "when traffic is moving" does a lot of heavy lifting. One fender bender or one driver who suddenly realizes they're about to miss an exit, and everything seems to grind to a halt. Lane discipline also feels more like a suggestion than a rule. Watching people weave across the double solid lines or slam on the brakes at the last second is almost a daily occurrence. It makes an otherwise straightforward drive more stressful than it needs to be. The tunnel itself is fine, but it could definitely use a little more attention. The lighting and cleanliness aren't always what you'd expect for one of Boston's busiest roadways, and the walls can make the whole drive feel darker than it should. Would I use it again? Of course. It's a tunnel, not a vacation destination. It gets me where I'm going. I just don't look forward to the experience, especially during rush hour.

Admission to the event is free. As you can imagine, the event is crowded. Personally, it made me feel a little claustrophobic, because there was no organized flow of traffic to walk through the event & look at the vendor tables. (People would pass you by in all directions.) The poster advertises free parking, but when we arrived at 12:15 PM, the lot was already full. Had we known parking would be a problem, we would have taken the T or walked. The lion dance was fun to watch, and I was amused when one of the performers threw candy at the crowd of children gathered in front, making it look like the lion was giving them gifts. This would be a fun event to bring kids to, with a large children's area with lots of games and other fun activities. The food court had about 10 south shore restaurants including Lime Leaf from Weymouth (delicious thai!) & Beni Cafe (sushi). The festival is presented by Quincy Asian Resources and sponsored by South Cove Community Health Center and many other local businesses.

This was my first visit to The Town of Stoneham. It is Tuesday and driving through Stoneham it's a…read morebusy day. Cars, trucks and all types of other vehicles just bustling through town like everybody knew where they were going except us. Nice little town and our guide was our cousin, who was giving us directions on how to get to what remains of the farm. We were given directions to Franklin Street where the farm house still exist. I always wanted to visit here because of the history that was told to me by relatives. The farm house still looks beautiful and is very well kept. We were told that the house had been here since 1749, and the original owner was Elisha Knight. I will probably never make it back here but, at least I got my chance in time to visit here. It started raining on Tuesday and it is chilly outside but, the colors on the maple trees are gorgeous and very picturesque to say the least. I have no clue of what to give this review since I would be playing favorites. I hope some of you make it here on the same time of year as I did.

I grew up in Stoneham and wouldn't ever say the people here are a bunch of "blue collar, no class" because has he even been to Stoneham? There are the rich snobby families just like anywhere else. Where did this guy grow up? Okay driving down Main St isn't the whole thing buddy. I believe every town has a Main Street, no? Am I wrong? Are no other towns are busy on their main road? Hmm so weird. We're right on two major highways, how is this not a perfect location. About or less than a ten minute drive once on 93 to Boston; without traffic; ehhm, how is that beat? My neighborhood has a neighborhood feel. If you're a crab and don't talk to people or aren't friendly, yes, you won't have a neighborhood feel. But in my neighborhood, we're always at someone's BBQ or bon fire.. 4th of July, I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else besides in my neighborhood. So many festivities to participate in! The school systems are.. from what I know, semi improving since recent years. All new elementary schools and I pray the Middle School is next. I am 24, so I am unaware of the school systems now since I have been out of that for a while and also not looking because I don't have children. If my parents were to leave me their house, I'd gladly accept it and raise my family here. And to say to get to Revere.... buddy; pathetic. We're like four towns over, get your geography right, jerk off.

Definitely one of the suburbs that I like the best in terms of the food and whatnot but definitely not nearly as fancy or as tourist Instagram-friendly as the suburbs to the west, like Cambridge and Brookline and Brighton and Austin. This one is a little bit more like Somerville and Medford and is a little bit more low-income, and definitely multi-ethnic and those are the reasons I love it! Go to Love Dog Hot Dog Buffet for amazing late night Brazilian street food!

For lunch on the day I visited, I stopped by the Elm Street Bakery since I saw there was a pretty good sized line outside. So glad I went there: several people ordered the pizza ghena (i think that's how it was spelled haha) so I had to try a piece of it and it was AMAZING. Totally regret not getting some more baked goods from them while I was there. I also went to my first 7-Eleven which was pretty exciting to me (I know I know, it's the little things that make me happy) Overall, a beautiful town outside of Boston that I would love to visit again one day.

I've been here many times, and I can recommend 2 pizza places up here as well, and a roast beef spot, as this part of Boston is famous for its Roast Beef sandwiches, made in a style that only Boston makes them. The Duchovny movie (with Demi and Amber in it) was filmed in this town... The Joneses. They also have the Iron Works here, the first one in the US. And it's close to a lot of heavenly beaches, the likes of which you'd never know Boston had, unless you know, and visit for yourself.

Sort of a triangular area between Tremont, Essex and Congress streets. We were in Boston today to take part in their Winter Art Exhibition. A series of public art installations that will only be available through March 29, 2026. The Kraken crossing is a fun installation with giant tenticles moving in the wind. My favorite is E/motion: A series of large seesaws along the sidewalk. People young and old were taking part and having a great time! Artificial Human is an AI generated, 3D light installation. A series of human forms, all walking down a staircase, hunched over, perhaps staring at their mobile devices. And thus, missing the world around them. I started following this organizatiin on social media to stay up to date on future events. We love coming in to Boston and now we have another reason to visit. Well done Dowtown Alliance.
