I'd heard of Lagree but never really knew what it was, and didn't even know this was Lagree going into it, but it's basically a more intense form of pilates that uses a megaformer vs the traditional one. I'm glad I had a base of already working out and trying two other similar classes before coming here, so it was a little less intimidating. I think a beginner could definitely get the hang of this, but having a good foundation felt necessary to get the full benefits of the class and workout. And of course instructor direction and examples were a big factor in succeeding in the classes as a newcomer. I've had a handful of different instructors and have definitely found the one that is more my style and more motivating to me (shout out Ankitha), but I've generally liked all of the instructors enough to go back to their classes. Finding an instructor that works for you makes all the difference though when you're powering through a touch class, which these often are. I originally signed up for their first timers offer of 4 classes for $99. Other than that, without a membership classes run at $38 per, but they have a ton of different packages and memberships that could make classes range from $11 (if you went every single day) to $30 with a larger upfront cost. I ended up getting a class pack so that I wasn't limited or expected to attend a certain number of classes a month and have really liked the flexability. They have tons of classes throughout the day and week, so finding an opening isn't too hard.

Thank you to Charlene! she's one of the better instructors and I came home feeling so sore :)…read morethat's when you know her routine killed you! I love how there's so much lighting in here and all the women here are super nice and inviting. I personally prefer lagree over Pilates since you can really focus on slower movements, which is when you start to shake like an earthquake. I book on Classpass!

I've been working out with Keith at SBF for several years. He's dedicated to helping people live…read morehealthier and stronger lives. He'll listen to you, discuss your goals and then work with you to achieve them. He's not a drill sergeant type of trainer - his method is to encourage and make it fun. If you are looking for a place that is a big loud gym more focused on social interaction that serves lattes and smoothies then look elsewhere. SBF is a place to workout with personalized attention - the focus is on you and exercise. All the equipment you need is there. I made the decision to start a program with him and it was one of the best decisions I ever made for myself. I highly recommend Keith & SBF.

(update 3/21/21) I must update my review after a very disturbing encounter with the owner Keith…read more After being a loyal client for about 1.5 years, I was following his cancellation policy (I texted him at least 12 hours BEFORE our next session), he agreed via text it was ok to reschedule (he does this for all clients as long as it's within the policy window outside of emergencies, pretty standard). Then, later that week during my session, he seemed very angry but incredibly passive aggressive. He said I could not reschedule and he's keeping my $75 for that session. I was shocked, caught off-guard because I followed his guidelines. I went back and looked at my texts, not only did I follow his policy, but we supported his business through covid so you'd think we would have at least ONE conversation over the 1.5 years in regards to rescheduling or his dissatisfaction. Since day 1, I was very open about how we needed flexibility in our busy schedules. Later that week, he texted me wanting to drop us as clients (surprised, but completely fine with it) and said he'd refund my 8 sessions for the rest of the month. Well, I can clearly count to 9, so I let him know he owed me for 2 sessions (Sunday + this one). Yeah, he tried to steal from us 2 times. I gave him a chance to explain himself, this was the professional and kind response I got from him via text, he told us to go F*** ourselves (see screenshot, thanks Keith for the evidence!). I also noticed he did not honor his off-peak hours 9am-11am at $40/session. Beware of this owner and his business practices. I will be going back to all my monthly Venmo payments to ensure he didn't overcharge us. More than happy to resolve this issue still and looking to get our money back. Next step will be to report to consumer protection bureaus. I will update this review if anything changes.

I have struggled with my weight all of my life and I know Cyndi gets it! She gets the frustration, she gets the tears, she gets the "why me". And, let me tell you, she also gets the joys, the triumphs, the love of self. She has never made me feel uncomfortable or inadequate when we have worked out or in our friendship. She has always showed kindness, patience and respect. Cyndi knowing that I had broken my back, would show a lower impact way of doing an exercise in a class. She would show this at the front and not make any indication of who actaully needed the variation. Don't get me wrong, she will push you. You will work hard. If you want someone in your life who will support you 150%, Cyndi The Trainer, is your cheerleader! I've been going to City Sports for a little over a month, and it's been a great experience so far…read more The gym has a wide variety of equipment, so I never have to wait long or change my workout because something is unavailable. One of my favorite things is that they open at 5:00 AM, which makes it easy to get a workout in before work. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the entire facility is consistently clean. I also like the extra amenities, including the sauna, the CrossFit area, and the boxing bags. Overall, it's a well-maintained gym with everything I need, and I'm very happy I joined. Highly recommend!

Today, I finally understood why the staff at City Sport Club provide such poor customer service…read more I was fortunate enough to speak with the manager regarding the steam room, which has been out of service for more than four months. When I asked when it would finally be repaired, I received the same response I have been hearing for months: "Maybe in a week or two." I have been given this answer repeatedly for over four months, yet the steam room has never been fixed. The manager also told me that the club had already paid $20,000 to the company responsible for repairing the steam room. However, when I asked him when the company was scheduled to come and complete the repairs, he said he had no idea. Doesn't that sound absurd? If you paid a contractor $20,000, wouldn't you expect to know when they were going to show up and perform the work? It is difficult to believe that anyone would make such a significant payment without receiving a timeline or expected completion date. I asked him directly, "When you paid the repair company, didn't they tell you when they would be coming to fix the steam room?" His response was unconvincing, and his body language suggested that he was uncomfortable with the question. At that moment, I found it hard to believe the explanation I was being given. After hearing the same promises for more than four months with no progress and no clear answers, I am left questioning both the transparency and accountability of the management team. What was even more disappointing was the manager's attitude. In the middle of our conversation, without resolving my question, offering any explanation, or even apologizing for the inconvenience, he simply turned around and walked away, leaving me standing there. After this experience, I now understand why the employees at this location treat customers so poorly--their manager sets the same example. For anyone considering joining this gym, I strongly encourage you to think twice before making your decision.

It's a great spot for your classic gym work-out's, but also as a change in pace for those who work from home (there's a separate work space where you can also rent out private room). Noise level is typically lively. Parking in the main lot is difficult especially after work or at noon (during weekday's) and is generally packed during the weekend - of note, there's an alternative parking lot to the side of the main lot for Bay Club-specific parking (approximately 5min walk). SERVICE Service was friendly, overall, as you're typically greeted by those at the front desk, which is lovely. I'd say there is room for improvement for my tour/meeting with the membership director when I first looked at Bay Club Courtside, as it felt that my question's were more of annoyances and that he wanted the meeting to be over with sooner than later. STANDOUT DETAIL What stood out most to me was the overall atmosphere and vibe - it feels like I'm going on vacation to a resort everytime I enter (rather than a gym). I've never paid a monthly fee for a gym until now, and I'll say it's absolutely worth it! Overall, I'd highly recommend Bay Club Courtside!
