Towards the end of last year I got extremely busy at work and needed some gardening/yard work done…read more The people who upkeep my lawn mentioned Geoff Hardesty at Hardesty Landscaping who also does gardening and yard work...supposedly. While the folks that do my lawn are good people, Geoff Hardesty is suspect. I took time off work to walk him around the garden, I told him any help he could give me would be great because there was a lot to do. He started asking me what I do for a living, he asked what my husband does for a living, and then he said I don't want to give you a quote on the spot and give you sticker shock. I said no problem, just figure it out and get back to me. He also told me he was planning to make as much money as he can before he retires (kind of odd). I said please give me a quote, I am interested. He emailed me that night and asked if I could leave my side gate open for him the next day, he still had some assessing to do - even though he'd spent an hour surveying my half acre property the day he came. Then I never heard from him again. He never even gave me a quote, never had the courtesy to send me an email to say I am not interested, nothing. Now I hear him advertising on the radio everyday for landscaping work in Lebanon IN. He struck me as a bit of a gold digger, looking to size up customers to see what he might be able to get out of them. I was most disappointed because I like to keep my garden looking nice and I could have used some help, and I put money aside knowing it would cost, but I guess he was afraid I knew what was required, since I have single handedly (except for my lawn), been building my garden up over several years from what was block of land with a house on it, no garden at all. My recommendation - watch out, he asks too many personal questions and he is not genuine in my opinion.
